CJs TD was okay but yeah Duvernays TD doesn't happen if he doesn't dive. That was all Duvernay. Good to see him get himself one...he could have a pretty good year if Sam would put a little more air under it when throwing to Duv.

Well at least the throw to CJ for the TD was close.  The seam route to... Heard, I think was over thrown by 10 yards.

Maryland added a 5* at DE that pushed the pocket.  They consistently rushed 4+ and our O-line gave him manageable time to throw.... And he sucks at it.   If the QB run isn't an integral part of our scheme, Sam can't spin the ball well enough to warrant him ANY playing time.  I give 4 fucks about his "vocal leadership".

  2. Looks like GJ had committed to destroy the guy with the ball as soon as he broke the LOS.  Probably try and break that fucker in half.

Problem is with the rules he has to be more aware that the QB will probably slide and he's risking ejection.  He'll learn from it.  We're going to need him against USC.

Shane's propensity for self-sacking has been driven by seriously bad pass-pro. The OL looked quite a bit better than last year. Given a choice between Sam's inaccurate throws and INTs (while not playing to his edge in running ability) and Shane's excessive self-sackage, I'd go with Shane. At least for a series or two. Not a fan of alternating QBs within a series, but if you don't give both a look, you're doing it wrong.

This and I think Maryland's D-line is vastly improved from last year.  After that shit show from Sam, Shane deserves half the snaps.  Let Sam start and play the first quarter.  Put Shane in for Q2

That’s a rule. Hug a lineman after you score.

Yeah.  The wife gave me a hug after a score.  I'm not a lineman, just kind of fat.

Oh and UT wasn't playing at the time.

Well, can you run a run spread offense when your best wr can't block? Anytime he comes in to the game it's an obvious pass. Anytime he's out it's a run.

Sam's accuracy is terrible. Watching those highlights again today though he doesn't seem as happy footed as he did on Saturday. Also the routes we have our WRs running are terrible. They're getting zero separation. And we need to stop dropping passes that hit us in the hands.

Yes you can.  You just don't run a wr screen to his side when his responsibility is to block.  Beat his ass some more in practice to teach him but that play is dead.  Lol or play to his strength.  Have him wiff a block and throw to him over the top.

Colin Johnson is proof of the maxim "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog"

He is a 6'5" creampuff of softness.

So don't call plays where he has to block.  Call plays to the strength of player.  And if CJ won't block for shit, bench him.

It’s funny how quickly Surly jumps from one QB train to another. If Herman would have started Shane, we’d have lost our shit.

There would have been some who lost their shit but we would have had a chance to win the game.

I honestly don't know why people think Shane is going to be any better. They both are what they both are; that is they should both probably be backup QBs.

Because Shane has a much higher completion and winning percentage...
