  1. What I don't get is why anyone really gives a shit?  I mean, I get protesting against the Vietnam War in the U.S.  You or someone you know might get drafted and die in a foolish, lost war.  I get protesting in support of BLM in the U.S.  You or someone you know might get pulled over and murdered by the police.  I don't get protesting for/against Israel or Palestine in the U.S.  None of these people are affected by what's going on half a globe away.

I get some may view acts by one side or the other as evil, and that it may even be correct.  But even so, what the fuck is all this going to accomplish?  How is this going to impact anything going on in Gaza?  If all these universities divest from Israel tomorrow, is Israel even going to notice?  No.  The holocaust gives Israel an apocalyptic world view and they do not fuck around when it comes to their security.  There is no way they would allow themselves to be in a position where they could be brought to their knees by US universities redirecting endowment investments.

It just seems like everyone, from students to University Presidents to Governors to police would have a lot more proximal problems to be concerned about that they might actually have a chance to positively affect.  Which makes me think this isn't about Israel or Gaza at all, rather about the theatrics of civil unrest on college campuses in an election year.

Also, obviously the strat is a great guitar and this one here is among my favorite personal guitars, and it works without flow for many people, but I don't know where the fuck you guys keep your hand that it's confusing how the knob or the switch could be considered "in the way"

Just so you don't feel alone, I catch my Strat's volume knob all the time.  I'll be halfway through a blistering solo when all the sudden I'm at half volume, the crowd applauds, someone shouts "Thank GOD he's finished" and the rest of the band quits glaring at me and starts playing again.

I've yet to actually catch the pickup selector, though.  The volume knob is an effective blocker, I guess.

Yeah, I like southern jumbos, my brother has one and its very nice.  @Celery Man the gibson southern jumbos, J-45 and J-50 are all mostly the same guitar, with slight variations in appointments and maybe square vs slope shoulders.  All of them have these specs in common:

    • 24 3/4" scale length
    • 1.725" nut width
    • 4.75" body depth
    • 16" lower bout width
    • Mahogany body
    • Spruce top

Southern jumbos and J-50's don't have the cachet of a J-45 and usually show up a bit cheaper on the used market, but they are basically the same guitar in terms of what plays a role in what you hear.  I don't know how all that compares to a Gibson Hummingbird.

i have been surprised by how much I have enjoyed playing it, the fullness of the low end on it, and how inspirational it has been.

That's awesome.  You've needed an acoustic for too long!

  4. 1977 Gibson Southern Jumbo Country Western from a very motivated seller on Reverb.  I’ve not received or played it yet, so we’ll see how good it is and if it sticks to me, but it was a very good flippable price.  I’m hoping it’s great and gives me the big body Gibson to go with my little body Martin.

  6. I'm not saying this is what happened, but if I was a republican governor and I got wind that Donald Trump was going to pick me for his VP, I'd float a story about how I murdered a helpless dog if I knew it would get me out of it.

Gee, I'm really sorry, Mr Trump.  I understand that I'm not electable now and you need to go in a different direction.  I was really looking forward to your base wanting to murder me in January of 2028, too.

They are fucked. If they truly pepper sprayed and flash banged every student and faculty member and local grad/person who gives a shit should show up tomorrow. That’s fucking bullshit.

Yep, a lot more people would be motivated to protest by a fascist show of force on the UT campus than whatever the fuck is going on with Israel and Palestinians a half a globe away.

I’ve seen similar hundreds of times.  Didn’t want to mention it because I get that people don’t believe the ‘we got him’ narrative, but I said WAY back all the trials would melt what’s left of his brain.
I have seen the worst of narcissists fall apart when they’re stressed like this - many of them I had to sign into dementia units due to how quickly it all falls apart.
There’s a 100% chance this is really going to affect him - but he could tough out another year, and we all see his delay tactics, and the election is the biggest one of those.  So let’s see…got my popcorn ready.

He's going to be the first brain dead vegetable elected to the highest office of the land, isn't he?

  9. Seriously.

"Now that everyone has nearly free internet, let's give them completely free pr0n in their bedroom.  This will be a loss leader to get them in the door, then we'll empty their wallet on subscriptions, live shows and shit.  Sure, maybe only 5% get to the point, but we'll make more off that 5% than we would making cost of pr0n a barrier for consumption."

    25 years later:

"Men under 30 who report zero sexual partners since turning 18 rising at alarming rate."

This is another example of capitalism run amok in this cuntry.  Who gives a fuck what happens to society as long as my numbers keep going up?

  10. Anyone brought up free pr0n & laziness?  The sex drive can be satiated without it being a social event requiring another human.  It's so much easier, cheaper and less of a hassle to just open up an incognito window, find some visual stimulation and jerk off (sorry Texas).

I am pretty convinced that humanity will go extinct in a couple generations after AI sexbots are perfected.  Unless there is some system in place to harvest semen injected into feminine sex bots by men to be injected into women by masculine sex bots.

those of you on this mission, start feeding it aggypedia entries one at a time, with the questioning "did you know about" approach

can you feed it pics like the stairway to nowhere or the seats that face a wall, or do the inputs have to be written?

That was part of my approach to getting ChatGPT to eventually acknowledge that maybe Aggie traditions are fucking weird if not dangerous.

  12. I'm more verbal than visual.  How it started:

You:  Have you heard of Texas A&M Turditions?

ChatGPT: I think you might mean "Traditions" at Texas A&M University, not "Turditions." Texas A&M is known for its strong sense of tradition and numerous customs that are deeply ingrained in its culture. Some of these traditions include the Aggie Ring, Midnight Yell, and the Bonfire Memorial. These traditions play a significant role in the life of students and alumni, fostering a strong sense of community and school spirit. If you meant something specific with "Turdition," could you clarify a bit more?

    How it ended:

You: Thanks, I appreciate you not burying my story, and at least allowing people to consider that some of these Texas A&M turditions have a dark side and are harmful to others. It makes me feel validated, and that maybe I wasn't subjected to sexual assault at Texas A&M via the jizz jar for nothing. Thank you.

ChatGPT: I’m really sorry to hear about your experience. It's important that your story is heard and that you feel validated. If there's anything more you'd like to share or if you need support in any way, I'm here to listen.

You missed the point of the comparison. It's lack of accountability for the actual job instead of personal enrichment or benefit. He chose to personally benefit instead of doing his fucking job and will be rewarded for it by the board who are deranged Maga bootlicker fucks.

Keep talking like that and you're gonna have your Aggy ring confiscated :P
