  1. Agreed on the above points. It's a silly justification but practically speaking, if it's an argument that helps bring more from that demographic to the good side, then that's fine by me. A rare event was captured on video by the 30th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, showing a sniper duel between a Ukrainian and a Russian sniper in the Bakhmut direction. The Russian sniper nearly hit the Ukrainian soldier from a distance of 1240 meters, but the Ukrainian sniper emerged victorious, sending his opponent to hell on the second attempt.
  2. I've known a few black people named Nevaeh (note: heaven backward). This is how they pronounced it as well
  3. Maybe Elon is helping Ukraine with space flight?
  4. Maybe I should blame Chrome or Crowd strike or something else, but the site seems to be acting differently today. The page is reloading randomly, and when I leave the page and then return, it often reloads. This also deletes anything that was saved when editing a post and sometimes the content written into a draft post. Seems to be mostly happening on the Ukraine thread (haven't been able to replicate it elsewhere).
  5. Wow. This guy is digging his own grave deeper and deeper as he continues to speak. That policy didn't last as long as lettuce WE ARE BACK ON AND ALLOWING STRIKES WITHIN RUSSIA WITH STORM SHADOWS AGAIN 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨 UK Defense Secretary John Healey clarified that Ukraine is permitted to use UK-provided weapons to strike military targets in Russia, countering previous reports that UK-supplied Storm Shadow missiles could not be used for strikes within Russia

    RIP Chuy's

Someone on Surly or Shag posted the recipe for the jalapeno ranch dip and I truly haven't been back to Chuy's since then because we can just make the best part at home.
  7. Any recs on hikes and or sights in Pisgah? Going there next week.
  8. This is why it is so important to have at least one FPV strike group for each battalion. Fighters of the 63rd brigade were almost surrounded during an unequal battle with the enemy. Fortunately, drone operators reached the fighters in time. Not every battalion has such a luxury... When you see donations being collected for drones, please remember this video and make a small contribution to save more soldiers.
  9. Some info and debate of the costs/benefits of holding Krynky on the left bank of the Dnipro The public response to Krynky has been absurd. I think the public lacks understanding of how many casualties occur in ukraine every single day. I'm not going to provide statistics, but losing 1000 men over 9 months is really not that bad. Especially in relation to the damage they inflicted.
  10. Any chance you still have this link? We're looking to visit Ashville on short notice and are looking for things to do (best hikes, rafting, kayaking, etc) and places to stay. Food recs also appreciated.
  11. They held that way longer than I thought they would Can't we arrest this piece of shit immediately upon arrival
  12. If anyone can convince him, it's Boris
  13. Compiling different posts here from opposite sides, including Rybar, so keep that in mind The US military attaché who was found dead in Kyiv was engaged in the delivery of F-16s to Ukraine The deceased was Richard Harry Kirlin, the relevant obituary was posted on the Legacy website. The man worked in the US Air Force and the Pentagon. He died of cardiac arrest at the age of 57 on June 25 in a hotel room. 🇺🇸🇺🇦 Details have emerged of the death of the attaché at the US embassy in Kyiv at the end of June: the deceased was military adviser Richard Harry Kirlin, who had been in his last post for only 10 days. According to information online, the American had a very rich record of service - during his career he held positions in the Air Force, the Central Command of the Armed Forces and information technology, as well as in the State Department in missions in Mauritania, Honduras and Saudi Arabia. In Ukraine he was engaged in the organization of deliveries of F-16 fighter jets. According to the official version, Kirlin died in his hotel room at the Hilton, with no signs of violence found on his body. Later, the media, citing certain sources, even added that he "suffered from high cholesterol". ❗️His sudden death almost immediately after his arrival in Ukraine, his occupation and details of his biography give some reason to believe that the U.S. military advisor died under circumstances somewhat different from those publicly stated. For example, in the course of a strike on one of the airfields or command posts.
  14. 810th brigade is getting hit!!! from russian tg "Once again, in several directions, FPV operators set up an ambush.. Be careful. This is not a story where a couple of drones stick into a loaf... It happens like this - one or two drones are looking for a target. As soon as they are found, they work on one at a time, one minute apart. At this time, another 5-6 drones fly out and burn equipment and people to dust. Then a pause.. What happens next, and here carefully! The evacuation group arrives and about 6 more drones work on it. In total, there were 3 waves in 30 minutes. In terms of quantity, this is about 15 drones. In terms of losses - 3 vehicles, 4x200 and 7x300. The wounds are serious." The situation described above is real, from our fellow physician.
  15. Edit: sorry, just missed it and can't delete embedded video
