  1. I will always have a healthy hate for Tech, Baylor, TCU, and U of H for their idiotic, Aggy Lite mentalities about Texas.  And I will revel in watching their football programs become even less relevant in a conference no one gives half a shit about.  They hated us for years while getting rich off of being next to us, and boy are they gonna miss us when we're gone.  I'm all for it.

As for the SEC, I already hate aggy and Piggy.  I hope to come to view the rest of the conference as quality opponents that I have to grudgingly respect, the way I once felt about Big 12 foes Nebraska, Mizzou, and K State.

The second half of last season. If Houston gets that version for a full season, it was a bad trade

And if they get the other 8.5 years of his career for even a couple of years, they did pretty well.  It's a second rounder for a #1 WR in a playoff contention year.

Time will tell, but these are the shots you take if you're trying to win now.

The ROI bar to clear for the trade to be a good trade is high for a pick that'll likely be in the 35-40 range. Diggs needs to be "good Diggs" for this trade to pay off. It won't take much of a decline for it to be a shitty trade

Right, it's just so obvious that I don't understand why it warrants so much conversation.

And when exactly was he "bad Diggs"?  Looking at his stats, you can pretty much pencil him in for 1000+ yards and 8+ touchdowns every year.  And he's never missed more than 3 games in a season.

So, yeah, he needs to perform and not get hurt.  Those are literally always the risks in any trade.  And there's nothing in his history to suggest that he's high risk in either area.

    It can be both.

Bet you didn't know Brooklyn was a hub for Jehovah's Witnesses.

No, Austin cannot be both as liberal as it's ever been and have "gone MAGA."

It was an observation by someone who hasn't lived here in 25 years that just isn't correct.

Have not lived in Austin since finishing UT in 1990s.

But It's seriously mind-blowing to see Austin become a hub for major MAGA fascists and fascism.

-- Alex Jones, Abbott and cronies, Musk, Rogan, and others, like Gabbard who seems to be going MAGA now.

--  Probably some rich Tech Bros, too (though they might not admit it).

-- "Civitas" think tank on UT campus is a academic smokescreen for fascism/theocratic policies.

-- The move to SEC is MAGA alignment from BMD and BOR.

    Just amazing.

I live in Austin now, and it's as liberal as it's ever been.

The city is several times bigger than it was in the 90s, and you referenced like 3 people who weren't already here back then as evidence that the city's gone MAGA.

    It 100% has not.

If either the "$200,000,000 in CASH" or the "ZERO DEBT" part of this can be verified to be false, this is a real problem for him.

However, he'll almost certainly be cleared with a defense of, "Do you really think I wrote that entire paragraph with only a handful of grammar and spelling mistakes?"

Oh, not even close.  Volleyball is one of the best women's sports, imo, along with gymnastics, tennis, and soccer.

Today's generation of students are simply apt pupils.

    • Many of the adults around them view public schools as fatally flawed guvment bullshit
    • Those adults elect other adults who view public schools similarly
    • Those elected officials hire other adults to administer schools from a pool of people who view public schools similarly
    • Those administrators ensure the school lives up to their expectation of being fatally flawed guvment bullshit

How are kids supposed to take school seriously when the adults around them don't?

    All of this is true.

I think it also needs to be said that we have a lazy generation of parents raising a lazy generation of kids, and they've all got a built-in excuse, so of course they're using it.

And it may not be a popular opinion, but depression, anxiety, insecurity, addiction, and other problems didn't start 10 to 15 years ago.  It's good that these things are getting more attention now, truly, but this is the other side of that coin.  Everybody's got an easy out.  Powering through difficulties is a lost art.

Man some massive pussies in this thread

I mean, haven't the Astros had a bumpy start multiple times over the last few years, only to be right there competing in October?

It's just one losing week of baseball, and it's going to happen to every team in both leagues.  Fans just freak out when it happens at the beginning.  Does anybody actually think this team is going to finish with a losing record?

Espada is the first manager in MLB history to get his first managerial win via a no-hitter.

This has to be extremely high on the list of things in baseball that will never happen again.

    Awesome.

  11. Every day I log in here and hope that this thread title has been changed to "45 Is Dead."

That is the only way we're ever getting rid of this guy.
