  1. It’s because we need to figure out how to temper our expectations. (By that I don’t mean we shouldn’t expect to play well. And well enough to win the conference and well enough to play in the MNC and well enough to win that.) we need temper them to the game directly in front of us, take one fucking game at a time despite our need to look several games into the future and beyond. If most people just looked at Kentucky and what we need to do for that and then the next game and stop looking so fucking far ahead most people would calm the fuck down. I’m guilty of it too. I decided after Florida to simply look at one game at a time. I was far happier yesterday even when the first half looked like a clusterfuck. I was like next quarter. We will come out and smote them down. And we did. One game at a time. Shelve the fucking expectations except that we beat Kentucky. And move onto to next opponent. This looking to January shit is getting us all into an unnecessary tizzy. That and also looking at last year or the year before last like we have a Time Machine and can go back and change the way the playoffs went down. We can’t.
  2. He was set to be a huge star ⭐️ there is not a doubt in my mind. He would have taken roles that went to other actors (in his absence) that would have elevated those movies. He had IT. But I can think of several 1990’s and early 2000’s where he would have been amazing.
  3. It’s like everyone is hair trigger. Not just this board. Some of it I blame on influencers and Gen Z’ers. But damn it’s in personal lives, at work, on the street, on the news everywhere. Clapping back against haters. When all the haters did was offer up a criticism. I cannot imagine being a teacher these days. People simply do not get how hard a lot of our own parents were on us Gen X and Y folks. That was just a normal Sunday. You say anything now and someone becomes unhinged about anything. No matter how innocuous.
  4. I get that Franklin isn’t a BAD coach or anything but this fall this year was stunning given all the hype. They will probably lose to Iowa coming up. I don’t think he’s an elite coach but he’s not terrible. This fall is stunning. Like holy shit. Unless he wanted to leave and kept that shit completely under wraps. He is failing spectacularly.
  5. He can make all the throws. Once he puts it all together people’s mouths will drop wide open. He’s just on a learning curve. And he’s making steady improvements despite some Oline stuff and other things. I just hope he will still be playing for Texas (as he has wanted to do since he was a kid) when we see HIM. because one day he will step out onto the field and he will be HIM.
  6. Sark called a damn good game and arch was able to execute what Sark needed. Sark took everything that OU’s defense was giving us and picked the meat off the bone clean. If Sark and Arch can have that same kind of synergy from Kentucky on out we will win out. Our defense is good. We have the dudes. Penalties and red zone scoring efficiency are still issues but we were able to overcome both of those things the last two years and at least make the playoffs. Imagine if we can at least cure one of those two things moving forward. But there is danger in my hoping for all that. So I will only focus on the next game. I can only allow myself to look at Kentucky and Kentucky only. For me having any other future expectations is too much and honestly it puts me in a negative space. We cannot correct the past. Just make continued improvements and mark the next game off the list.
  7. They should have let them have the Jags as a permanent team. They do seem to love the Jags.
  8. I don’t know when it started that criticism means hate. Or a constructive comment means hater. Or a truthful observation means you’re an evil asshole. But somehow in the last ten or so years saying something like, “hey do you mind combing your hair for the family Christmas picture?” Turned into the other person going, “oh i see. You hate me. You don’t care about me at all. You are an evil bastard for bringing up my hair.” Like wtf? It’s everywhere I look and not on this board. Offering up a criticism doesn’t mean you hate the person unless you follow a criticism up with “Hey do you mind combing your hair for the family Christmas picture because I hate you and you’re lazy and been plotting to drown you in a lake so smile big for the picture I need an alibi of a happy family for the cops before I off you.” That kind of shit. criticism doesn’t mean hate. A reaction to criticism is like how my mom acts. I say “Hey do you think 10 different place settings is too much?” Her response is “yes. I’m a horrible mother and you and your brother can’t wait until I die so you can sell all my shit that brings me immense joy.” can we all not act like my mom? It would be cool. Criticisms especially valid ones are simply that. Why not just accept the critics are coming from a place of truthfulness and acknowledge the criticism is valid without going full blown crackhead. Counter it with something other than “you hate Sark!” Most of us do not hate him would like to keep him as HC and can also acknowledge disturbing trends that he needs to clean up and address to continue to be our HC.
  9. I’d be happy scoring over 30 points and winning convincingly in all phases. Complimentary football. And less penalties. I’m just looking for visible improvement across the team and with coaching in each game along with a win. Seems easy. we win 33-10. Yay us. Who’s next?
  10. Especially with other alums with money to burn (see Texas Tech and Indiana) are entering the chat. And there will always be the next up and coming coach who can work magic with far less. Stacking talent is fool’s gold. Have to coach up that talent and have a staff that’s on the ball. Oregon looked like from the outside looking in like a team that had flipped that switch this year…and there is still a ways to go but despite all the NIL and portal fuckery there is still quite a bit of parity among the top say 60 or so FBS teams. Any one of them can spoil your chances.
  11. Good analysis. This was his best game plan this season and Arch was able to execute much of what Sark needed. Very complimentary football. Ofcourse we benefitted from the fact that Venables is like a Manchurian Horn and Mateer most likely would have played much better had he not just had hand surgery. Those INTs he threw were death nails. He may not be the best QB but I think we all agree Mateer would have played better than that if not for the hand surgery. Lots to like about this game and to have hope for the future and we know Sark is cognizant we have to win out to have a chance. I just wish we wouldn’t dig holes for ourselves and leave our future out of our hands at times. I am cautiously optimistic with just expectations for the game in front of us. Penalties continue to kick us in the ass and many of our future opponents will capitalize on them. This game is what we hired Sark to do. Analyze what an opponent’s defense is giving him and pick them apart. Because Arch is on a learning curve I think the loss at Florida literally a fire under Sark. There isn’t a whole lot of room for error. So maybe this brings out the best in Sark too. I hope anyway.
  12. Jets have had a couple almost but not quite games. If the NYG build continuously off their success against the Eagles it will put some real pressure on Jets leadership to do something better. Be cool af if they won today…but then it just helps the KC Chiefs. 🤷🏻‍♀️
  13. I think the answer is for the last three years is that Texas was almost dead last in the entire FBS in red zone scoring. With at least 3 different QBs. Arch will continue to improve. I submit he would be further along this season had we had typical practices starting in the spring and not changed the entire offseason practice model to light no contact practices (NFL Prostyle.) or how we came off flat, disjointed and discombobulated off a bye week to play a weak Florida team helmed by Slingblade. That’s on Sark. You act like we didn’t already make it extremely difficult on ourselves to sniff the playoffs before the season started. Winning out would be amazing but I just have to look forward one game at a time. You should too. We already have two losses. One loss was an offensive failure and Arch played poorly. The loss to Florida was a team failure and Arch was actually one of the bright spots. He’s a mobile QB who would have benefitted from heavy 140 play practices with contact in the offseason. He’s trying to put the pieces together. he does need to get rid of the ball faster and I am sure that’s a focus of how the staff works with him in practice. Or I hope it is. And most of us see the type of improvement in him that bodes well for us if we want to win out. Putting in Caldwell won’t change anything. Or make it better or did you not see we have been nearly dead last in red zone scoring the last three years in the entire FBS?
  14. What do Arch’s teammates think about Arch? At the end of the day that’s what matters. They are the ones in the trenches with him. "He proved today, he's a great quarterback and we're all behind him," wide receiver Parker Livingstone said. "He's the leader of this team and the leader of this offense." "Arch can make every throw in the book," wide receiver DeAndre Moore said. "It's really about what the defense is giving us. They played a lot of deep coverage and Arch took advantage of that. It was a really great game plan." and our secret 🤫 vey helpful Sooner teammate: "He did a nice job," Oklahoma coach Brent Venables said. "We lost contain a few times to allow him to buy some time. And he's a good player with good skill guys around him. He played with really good poise and made some good plays in tight coverage." I mean I get it…I only have three quotes (Venables is like a Manchurian Horn man) and Wisner also bragged on Arch post game. I am sure I could find more accolades from other teammates. But if we hope to sniff the playoffs it’s what his teammates think he can do to get them the W that matters. And they seem to believe he can. Hopefully, we can win out.
  15. Wow 😮
  16. If a game was actually the Running Man in terms of blatant lies and propaganda by announcers, blatant cheating by the HC of a team, blatant robbery by the officials this game is it. who loves Kirby and who does he love? REFS.
  17. This would be the time to dial up some crazy OC shit for Auburn. it’s not been all Georgia ever since you dumbfuck announcers it’s been the SEC Georgia robbery by ref. Freeze gonna stroke out. That one vein in his face man.
  18. Kirby should have been ejected. I hope everyone calls them out all week.
  19. Kirby cannot win without cheating himself and an assist from the refs. Period. We see. we fucking see man.
  20. The 8 OTs against Georgia Tech and what the refs allowed Kirby to do is beyond. Until tonite. It’s so bad. Fuck the refs.
  21. This SOB knew what he was doing. He needs to get ejected. Sleazy mofo.
  22. Georgi isn’t even that good. what gets me is Georgia fans think this is a gutsy performance by their team instead of what it is: their opponent getting robbed by the refs so that Kirby and Georgia can advance. It’s some backwoods fuckery bullshit.
  23. Why is this continuously allowed? Why? It’s ridiculous.
  24. Yeah. And even if Auburn gets the upper hand Kirby and the Refs will find a way to break it. He will legit do what he did to Georgia Tech last year with the full blessing oF the refs.
  25. Tortillas man. That’s a game I need to see Texas Tech v Georgia. That shit will not stand with sand aggy. With obvious robbery by ref like this.
