  1. If Texas was a 2-loss team, and the losses were to Ohio State and Georgia, we would be ahead of every 2 loss team, and likely some 1-loss teams like BYU. Let's use Alabama as an example since they keep coming up. It wouldn't even be a debate. Would be the highest seed of those and whatever potential benefit comes with that. That's what scheduling a hard OCC does for you. If the losses were Florida and Georgia, and we had beat Rice instead of playing Ohio State, then you'd be seeing a debate as to where we'd fall within the pack of 2-loss teams, and yes we'd still be in the playoffs, but there'd be more animation about where we go and who we draw. To me, that's the difference.
  2. It is. Our fans are still just fans, and that comes with irrational thought. We aren't being punished for Ohio State, it's Florida. How would that look in reality?; we would likely have been the highest ranked 2-loss team if it was just Ohio State and Georgia. That's what not being punished for playing a tough OOC would look like. It doesn't mean this other thing where you get to pretend you don't have 3 losses. I can't get too worked up over being left out if that's what happens. Sark has to do the politicking because it comes with the job, but it's not some great crime or travesty if we don't make it. Learn from it.
  3. $100M+ over 7 years. don't ask me how that institution has that kind of money

    yup.

no doubt they do. Ryan Day has to have some plan of pulling his team or something as it draws to an end. more to lose for him. best scenario is the Ohio State offense keeps the ball and kneel formation as the game ends

see? it's up to the coaches. security can't get on the field before the game is over

they just let the mascot put an X over the M. it's not like it was a small X either. up to the coaches to see it coming at the end of the game and squash it.

they would have to display some offensive prowess they haven't shown yet. yeah, it's not over but it's close. they need a score this quarter. Sherrone Moore will definitely be on the hot seat next year.

they do cross paths a lot. also see it on their teams. Oklahoma really doesn't produce talent so much that we are in there taking a ton of their players. Michigan and Ohio are more of an equal footing in that respect. Woodson is from Ohio. but no, it's not like that in terms of living next to each other like Texas - OU. consequence of one state being clearly more attractive than the other I suspect for sheer hate and lunacy its probably one of the SEC rivalries, probably Alabama - Auburn.

#1 in wins vs #2 in wins. One of those has never really had a down stretch. #1 and #3 in stadium capacity, and both truly outstanding in terms of presence for home field advantage

it genuinely feels like refereeing has become worse all across the board
