In some ways he was the savior of the program, and then he lived long enough to become the villain.

That's a good description of his tenure.

The flaws were there and known when he started. Then, he brought Dick Tomey into the fold in 2004, who changed many of the ways Mack did things as a head coach. Those ways lasted a couple of years, long enough to win a title, and then Mack went back to his old ways.

We also had just so much talent in 2005, it was enough talent to overcome nearly any coaching weakness.

We are so got damn lucky to have Sark as our coach. If you didn't watch this, you should.

Also ... holy shit ... Sark must have lost 40 .lbs. He's looking so happy and healthy.

Hehehehe... I found it. The original source file. That's the good news! The bad news is, it's in OmniGraffle format, which is supported by jack shit outside of OmniGraffle, a macos-only app.

Which can be read by LucidChart, but can't be exported to something sensible without paying money. sigh

BUT... I also found that this was the V2 of this diagram. The original was this:

    PeakHigdon.thumb.png.313ce93c6ee0e584280a530427064015.png

Also, the import into LucidChart doesn't seem to have preserved the colors correctly. shrug

Anyway, in answer to CTJ's question: It was, apparently, 2018 or so.

More fun. There's also a "miniballer.graffle", but it's a different format; being a directory, it's not... quite... working right. Must be an older version? Anyway, that one has some really interesting images in the resource files...

    Spoiler

I agree with that, though unless I need peripherals, I'm usually closer to $2000-$2500.

Yeah, I usually included monitor/mouse/etc in that price.

Of course, for a laptop, that's the price tag for the laptop, since screen, keyboard, trackpad are all included.

  5. Way back in the late 80s/early 90s... I wanna say 1991? There was a comment in a review article by the author that said, more or less: "The computer you want to buy is always $3000."

In the intervening years I've found this to be a great guideline that remains true today. If you set that as your budget, you will be very happy with what you get for a long time, without spending money on things you won't need or use.
