So Syril. To me, he's kind of one of the more underrated aspects of this show because of who he represents. For instance, ask yourself this question as I did and see what you come up with. When, if ever, did Syril truly go wrong/evil? I mean, yeah, he's a try-hard, and WE know that when Andor kills those two guys, it's because they were shaking him down and threatening him, but Syril doesn't know that. He's just a law and order dude with a belief in something he likely doesn't know or fully understand the true nature of until it is way too late. He disobeys his boss's direction in pursuing Cassian, so you could say that was wrong, but that was more procedurally wrong rather than a good vs evil type of wrong. Then he goes about committing more procedural wrongs in an attempt to clear his name, which lands him in Dedra's crosshairs, but again, nothing with true knowing malicious intent. I'm not sure he ever really goes wrong from a choosing evil standpoint (maybe some of his actions with regard to the Ghorman Front, but even then, he is trying to figure out if outside agitators are breaking what he perceives to be the law). He is a great case study in how somebody with a stringent set of beliefs, who is being pushed by family to make something of himself and lacks the ability to discern the bigger picture can have those set of conditions used by evil to do their bidding while he cheers himself along almost all the way while doing said bidding.
One of the themes of the show is how the Imperials who show initiative, concern, excellence, a true desire to Make the Galaxy Great Again are the ones who get crushed under its heel as if they themselves were Rebels.
Syril, Dedra, Partagaz... crushed. You even see competence from Syril's corporate boss way back earlier... also crushed. Krennic built the fucking Death Star ... how did that end for him?
The mediocre, the ones who don't care, are the ones who survive, guys like Lagret.

You know what I just realized? We come to this thread to read the screenshots of their board, and it informs our opinions on what Aggies are thinking. But we never see them contemplating on screenshots from our boards. What whining, and accusations of cheating are they even talking about? I don’t see that shit anywhere here. Are they just making up the what they think our reactions are entirely out of whole cloth? What a terrifying concept.
They DID mention Orangebloods.
God only knows what idiocy Ketch is peddling over there. I don't.

Maybe, but there is very little Jar Jar. Everything Jar Jar related is fucking awful. It does not get any worse than Jar Jar.

Longhorn netdom legend and personal friend to a number of us, PhxHorn, used to have a saying to address this POV:
”The problem with taking a bunch of guys that are there more as program fits is that, well, eventually you have to play them. “
RIP Phx
That caught up to Mack. Can it catch Thirteen Win Theven? Well, the portal says “hopefully not”. Parker Livingstone, however, says “probably so”.
i really miss that guy
phxhorn was great

Jesus Christ. This take is worse than all of Helobious’ bad takes put together. Face it, Episode 8 sucked. It’s on par with Episode 1 as the worst Star Wars ever.
Episode 1 isn't even the worst movie in the prequel trilogy, and Episode 8 isn't even the worst movie in the sequel trilogy, so... don't try to accuse someone else of helobious while doing a helobious of your own. 🤣

I've said I'd rather go to Wisconsin.
We were discussing other options in the B1G.
Based on my personal experience MSU is the second best option since Michigan is likely not an option.
Why is this so hard to understand?
Because there are many better options than MSU in the B1G if we're looking for "second-best option to Wisconsin that we haven't already played recently."
Iowa: Great School, corn fed babes, I can point and laugh at my niece as Texas prevents Iowa from scoring a point.
Rutgers: NJ is GORGEOUS in the Fall.
Northwestern: Great nerd school, and it's fucking Chicago; what more can you ask for?
Nebraska: Always fun to add to our run against them. They probably wouldn't play us.
Washington: Seattle culture! More nerds!
UCLA: let's go to the Rose Bowl and avenge 1997 & 1998 and be in Westwood where there are more boob jobs per capita than anywhere else on earth
Oregon: Nice area. Great nature. Fuck the Ducks.
USC: If you need a reason to put USC on your schedule there is something wrong with you.

Fixed and Co-signed!
But... MSU isn't in Wisconsin for the record.
I know. Another reason not to go there.
And if you really want to go to Michigan the state, there's a much better option in Ann Arbor (and on our recent schedules).

Based on my fairly wide range of experience, the tailgate scene at MSU is legit, second only to Wisky. Flights to DTW are easy in and out with a not a bad drive. Heading north or west in Michigan at the right time of year for the coast makes for a nice extended weekend.
Other than being an ag school and its abuse history which is substantial, its a pretty solid and fun trip. Which is to say, nothing at all like aggie.
The only thing mich state has to offer are wealthy and possibly cute Chinese coeds who were too dumb to get into a good school.
Which is a reason, I guess, but if Wisconsin is an option, why not go there and get beer cheese soup and nordic PAWGs instead? Plus a better program, better academics to rub elbows with, etc

I thought about Michigan State. Given that Texas never schedules them in anything, I just assumed they were persona non grata irrespective of hundreds of molestations by the doctor and the coverup.
The preseason magazines do not have a favorable outlook for Maryland this season. One of them has them finishing below Purdue on the season. While I follow CFB as a hobby trending toward religion, I didn't really pay much attention to Maryland last year or their roster ins and outs this offseason, so that was surprising. If Locksley trending towards a tumbledown, we should hurry up and fit them in irrespective of other P4s being scheduled.
I kid ... mostly. Seems like last time Texas had other P4s on at the same time as Maryland and it didn't go so well.
Michigan State is the A&M of the North.
There's no point to scheduling them.

Regarding Clone Wars, I watched a little of it when it first came out with my kids. I never really got into it and considered it a kids show. Later, watched the entire series during Covid and loved it.
The Clone Wars is a fantastic enrichment of the last two prequel movies. The animated series rescued Anakin's character from mediocrity. In my opinion, the best thing it did was give life to the clones which were just background characters in the movie. Order 66 hits hard after you develop an attachment to the clones.
in my opinion, the best thing it did was show what war was doing to Anakin
"What? He was going to destroy the ship."

Random thoughts that don't warrant a thread

100% agreed. They got popular to brew because apparently they're easy to brew, and can be made with higher alcohol content.
There's starting to be a backlash against them, though, in popular tastes, and not a moment too soon.
Similar thing happened with zinfandels back in the day. But I actually really loved zins. Now it's all Red Blends. But the appeal of the Red Blend is how cheap it is to get a good wine; I saw a fuckin $100 bottle at Costco a couple days ago. For $100, I expect a damn good single variety, not this blended shit.
That's like the folks who drink Johnnie Walker Blue, man. Blends are supposed to be tasty cheap things, not 3 figs a fifth!
