  1. 5-year contract for Frimpong announcement seems imminent now per Twitter reports. Love his versatility as a fullback/winger/wingback. Could legitimately offer rotation for Salah when he sits if needed. I think we’ll be surprised at Slot’s tactical changes going into 2025-26 once he gets more personnel in the door that fit his preferred style.
  2. MLS been on the floor more than on his feet today. I really have no idea what FSG are gonna do about the striker position this summer. I just don’t think they’ll splash the cash for Isak unless Saudi come knocking for Darwin and Jota and hand us a get-out-of-jail free card. I think Darwin is 100% gone, but I’m curious if they keep Jota for “depth”. His finishing went to hell this year and his injury record is just really poor. Even if you sold both, you’d still need to shell out another $50+ million for Isak in all likelihood.
  3. I really would be interested to see Salah in a more central playmaker role next season on occasion. He’s not Messi-caliber, but he’s the best we’ve got and I wonder if it would suit him the way it suited Messi as he lost his pace with age.
  4. Have you ever read the Twitter replies to James Pearce? There is nary an LFC fan that gives a shit about what he thinks. Listen to Carragher: “I’m sick of people telling Liverpool fans how they should feel.” The city and its people has a connection with this club like no other in England. This is a betrayal to many.
  5. That’s not the perspective of a scouser who watched their [scouser] vice captain slink into the shadows for 8 months while the team was on a title push. They thought Trent was the next Gerrard.
  6. He knew he was leaving 2 years ago when Jude tapped him up and he let his contract run down so he & his brother could pocket the transfer fee for themselves a la Mbappe. People don’t care that he’s leaving as much as they care that he’s a $50-100M talent leaving for FREE. Meanwhile players like Grealish, Macca, Rice, Coutinho, etc. all signed extensions knowing full well they might be leaving so the club could get something.
  7. Do you know the city at all? He’s a fucking rat to these folks.
  8. Bring on the signings. Absolutely pathetic second half performance from 2-0 up.
  9. Some EXCELLENT link-up play on these counters. Could be worse than 2-0 with a couple of different box sequences, too. So glad they’re up for this.
  10. Great match if you’re looking for visual evidence that FSG need to invest in the squad this summer. I think Endo might have been the only part-time player to show anything.
  11. Nike mailing it in on their way out the door?
  12. god the energy in that place must be absolutely insane!!
  13. Now they’re scoring for fun.
  14. Macca only scores bangers.
  15. Let’s hope that generates some momentum. Tottenham is generally hugely open at the back; we should be ripping through them.
  16. NFL front offices validating those of us who thought Sark should have pulled the cord on Quinn after the Georgia debacle…I don’t think he ever really elevated the talent here, although he’s a great personal representation of the program. Will always wonder “what-if” with Arch getting snaps during a soft stretch of the schedule leading into the CFP.
  17. 2 matches to secure a guard of honor against Arsenal.
  18. Insane goal by Trent given the circumstances. I have no idea how Jota hit the crossbar from four feet out when the keeper was out of the net. Hold on for dear life.
  19. Leicester has been outscored 25-3 since the end of January and this attack is lifeless (again).
  20. I think the Harvey point is right theoretically, but our midfield has been overrun for several weeks now because of tired legs and a disorganized press so I don’t see how it’s any different? West Ham marched through to the final third with little to no resistance for 40+ minutes.
  21. Elliott is not a perfect player, but he absolutely solves a bit of the creativity problem. His problem is he’s not physical and that seems to be the only trait that Slot cares for. Elliott / Bradley / Salah linked up very well against Fulham and nearly pushed us to a draw. Elliott was the best player on the pitch when he came on against Newcastle in the cup final and played three incisive balls into the box in a short period of time that we don’t usually see from a our MF (one which led to the Chiesa goal). There’s just no way you can look at Jones / Szobo’s recent non-impact and tell me he doesn’t deserve a look. Leicester is probably the perfect match to try it, but I’m sure it’ll be Grav / Macca / Szobo.
  22. I like good football and we’ve played about two halves of good football over our last 7 matches and we’re able to win the league in neutral due to Arsenal stepping on rakes. One of the common complaints with Klopp was his undying loyalty to the same stable of players and we’re in the same frustrating rut right now. I just don’t understand why Endo, Elliott, and Chiesa can’t find their way into a game.
  23. Szoboszlai subbed on in the 68th minute and had 6 touches in 29 minutes. This midfield is tired and toothless and Harvey Elliott couldn’t buy his way onto the pitch. Fortunate set piece at the end because West Ham utterly dominated us for the entirety of the second half and Alisson made a few brilliant saves thankfully.
  24. Lucho has been the most dangerous player since he’s come on. Outstanding run from Bradley to see that open space to receive the ball.
  25. Salah has been fucking terrible for half-a-dozen matches. You can’t play a 32 year-old 98% of available minutes and expect him to be the same player in April that he was in November. At some point, these players need to be held accountable and rotated when they aren’t performing. Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, and Salah have been run into the ground this year.
