are Venezuelans noticeably lower skillset than others that have been coming in?

Not sure about that but pre pandemic, my wife and I were on several cruises in the Caribbean and everywhere we went, any problem that existed were blamed on the Venezuelan refugees.  Just the latest people off the boat in my opinion, no more or less skilled than anyone else.

There’s “racial angst” about Fields dropping? That’s news to me. This isn’t entirely unexpected. The knock on him I heard was that his receivers were generally too wide open and some really stupid throws in a couple of games last year, particularly the Northwestern game. A whole week of listening to talk in OSU media and this is the first time I’ve heard anyone mention a racial component. We’re beyond the time of thinking QB’s need to be white. Unless you’re a racist. Are you a racist? You sound like you might be.

No, I was referring to a story by Kalein Jones on the Ringer.

he was the former UT beat writer for the Atlantic

  4. I thought it was a very good movie, it was over 2 hours long and never seemed to drag.  Very straightforward view of the battle and not an ounce of political correctness.

Also added in some completely factual Japanese atrocities to make the Chinese partners happy.

Would definitely recommend it to parents with 9-14 year old kids.  Not as gruesome as Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers.

  5. Back then, you were also allowed to bring in a different ball just for kicking.

Erxleben, Steve Little and Tony Franklin all kicked 67 yard field goals that year. The ball looked like the Hindenburg.

Sanchez has had a lot of blister problems that they're going to have to figure out also.

Nolan Ryan had the same issue when he first came up to the Mets, he soaked his fingers in pickle brine.  Things worked out okay for him.

I played at Delmar Stadium. Second game of my sophomore year, my first game to start on varsity. We played Scarborough and beat them. I don’t even know if that HS still exists. I remember our star CB tearing his knee up in the first half and wailing as they put him on a stretcher. It was traumatic for a 15 year old. Not as traumatic as watching Javonne Shepherd choose a hat, but traumatic nonetheless.

It’s still there. I graduated from Scarborough over 40 years ago and it was all white then.  The demographics of that area have changed significantly.

    Surprised Delmar still exists.
