Do they sell that stuff here?

Sri racha of course. I usually keep some Frank’s Red Hot or Texas Pete, and Cholula or Valentina. Lately I’ve been using the Yellowbird Blue Agave Sri Racha (available at nicer HEBs - yes Brodie maybe no Slaughter), all of those are good.

There’s another local Sri Racha with a rattlesnake or diamondback on the bottle and I don’t like it. Way too ketchupy.

I was getting tired of siracha, so the bride scored me some YellowBird Jalapeno sauce on a whim FTW.  Great stuff.

Tomorrow, I will be cooking almost 10 filets for my parent's birthdays and I'm trying to figure out the best methodology to use.  I want to sear them in a cast iron and then use the small amount of drippings that are left over to make a merlot sauce that will accompany the steaks and potatoes.  I was thinking about seasoning the steaks, pulling them out of the fridge (cold) and searing them all earlier in the day, followed by refrigeration.  As food time approaches, I'll pull the steaks out,  bring to room temp,, and then pop them in an oven to finish at desired temp (M. Rare, except for SIL who is an unwashed heathen that takes it well done).  Has anyone used this method or should I just cook them all (in batches) to order and forgot the sauce?

The reverse sear is how I deal with cooking steaks for a diverse audience (including "unwashed heathens".)  You bring all of them to almost rare in the oven, then finish them with the required level of cast iron sear to complete the requested level of "done."  I'd skip the merlot sauce, but that's just me -- you should have plenty of pan drippings if you want to roll that way.

Here's one of many internet references out there on reverse sear:  https://jesspryles.com/recipe/how-to-cook-a-steak-with-reverse-sear-method/

  3. Pipe Bomb and Powder Delivered to CNN Was Harmless

The pipe bomb and white powder that forced an evacuation at CNN headquarters in New York City Wednesday morning was harmless, a law enforcement source told the Associated Press.

The device was similar in construction to those sent Wednesday to former President Barack Obama, former attorney general Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton, Representative Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D., Fla.), and Representative Maxine Waters of California. The NYPD said the explosives were live during a Wednesday afternoon press conference but subsequent reporting suggests they were not functional.

All of the devices carried a parody ISIS flag featuring comedian Larry the Cable Guy’s signature slogan, “git ‘er done,” NBC News reported late Wednesday.

  4. Rep. Dawnna Dukes sues prosecutor, Statesman, 3 former aides

Saying she was the victim of a conspiracy to attack her reputation and undermine her political career, state Rep. Dawnna Dukes has sued Travis County’s top prosecutor, the American-Statesman and three former legislative aides, among others.

The lawsuit, filed late Wednesday by Dukes on her own behalf and without a lawyer, seeks $7.8 million for malicious prosecution and defamation.

Where the fuck is the garlic?

Step up your game and do an overnight brine with salt, sugar, garlic and thyme.  Then grill it (or better, smoke it) simply seasoned with salt and pepper.

Fantastic job at an amazing speed. If I was going it, I'd probably still be taking off the seats.

Not to nitpick though, but why didn't you stagger the ceiling boards? Not a fan of the lateral seam.

Perhaps you answered your own question?

  7. 1977.  Horns won 13-6.  Starting QB Mark McBath is lost to an injury in 1st Quarter.  The next QB, Jon Aune blows out his knee 11 plays later.  3rd string QB Randy McEachern (listed as a DB on the depth chart) comes in to lead the Horns to a win.

Maybe that's why they changed their name after the first album.

Chicago Transit Authority vs Chicago Transit Authority

chicago transit authority Audio Archaeology: When A Bands Name Isnt Theirs!

"Lets go back some distance for our first one. The band Chicago does in fact hail from the Windy City. In fact many of the band members first met while attending DePaul University. Originally named The Big Thing, after adding their seventh member, vocalist Peter Cetera, the band was signed to a deal with Columbia Records in 1968.  Shortly thereafter, the band changed its name to Chicago Transit Authority.

Less than a year after signing with Columbia, the band debuted with the self-titled The Chicago Transit Authority (informally called CTA).  The album was a unique property being a double-disc release (a rarity for a debut), filled with jazz-like instrumentation and Latin elements blended with a slight abstract experimentation with feedback-laden rhythm. Despite the description, the sound was a perfect fit for early FM radio and eventually sold over a million copies in the year following its release. With the success of the album and the single Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is, it was only a matter of time until someone took notice.

Within months of the albums release, the band had officially shortened its name to simply Chicago after being threatened with legal action. It seemed that the actual Chicago Transit Authority did not take too kindly to some hometown boys mixing it up with the rock and roll. Thankfully, the city didnt feel the same."
