  1. When CHIEF Jr. and his buddies invite a bunch of the local hot chicks on the boat during the summer in between college semesters. The boys all bail off to show their football and volleyball prowess. I stay onboard for the "Mr. CHIEF, do you mind rubbing some suntan lotion on my back?" I always oblige, even the occasionally slightly chunky one. I always get an eyeroll from Mrs. CHIEF.

The Niece scheduled her wedding on Texas/USC weekend, after figuring out that about 60% of the RSVPs said they would not be attending, she moved it to the following weekend. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that's Texas/TCU weekend so things won't be a changin'. She needs to have a floating start time to schedule around the game.

Welp, guess who got fucked out of attending this game. Stayed at the tailgate until early 3rd quarter. Only redeeming quality was the high end early 20's ass at the wedding. Went to the MILs house and watched it all over again......shit.

Chief, land in Hood and Parker counties seems to have gone totally apeshit in the last 12 months. Seems to be a glut of folks moving out of “the city” and into the country. Can you attest to that or have I gone crazy? I’m out in the sticks of Parker Co. and one day I take a drive and spot two 70+ rooftop subdivisions going in out in the middle of nowhere. $45k for a half acre lot. I may be looking to sell my 61 acres if that’s the kind of return I can expect

Yes, everything is crazy, they are about to build 850 houses in a new subdivision, here in Granbury. Depending on where your 61 acres is, you are likely already a millionaire.

  4. When CHIEF Jr. drinks (20 year old), there is no leaving our gated community. We have security only and LEOs can only enter if called by residents or management. He can drink, fishing at the river, playing golf, poker, or riding around on the golf cart. He has tried pot about 3-4 times, a couple of times here at the house, and a couple of times just riding around with friends on the golf cart. Telling them they cannot drink or smoke around you only means that they are going to go do it where you can't see or find out about it. Most of the time that is at a party that gets busted by the cops, then you got to go pick them up and hire an attorney to get charges reduced or dismissed. Luckily, CHIEF Jr. doesn't really like weed, but if he was hellbent on smoking it, I would rather it be where I can keep an eye on him.

Ya. Kicking ass and taking names out in the field still.

Found out yesterday we’re shutting down the Aledo satellite office and re opening the Godley yard.

Went to high school in godley....del norte tacos is your new lunch spot

All my family is from Godley and Cleburne, and most still live there. My grandmother graduated from GHS in 1944, small World. We are all the way over in Granbury, I am the one that had the shitty brisket and ribs at BBQ on the Brazos in Cresson, it was so dry it was inedible. We eat at Del Norte at least twice weekly.

  6. My first cousin's first cousin (opposite side of the family) was named Zebulon William Williams. Was close enough to attend his funeral a couple of years ago, died from a heroin overdose in Cleburne, Texas. Daughter picked the music for the funeral and played Guns and Roses' Mister Brownstone, I shit you not.

  7. Headed to Cozumel the 5th through the 10th 0f August. Wanted to do the whole "rent a house, cook, stay away from tourists" thing. After I put the total together, it was only $200 more for Iberostar All-Inclusive, so I was "outvoted". Gonna run $771 per head with airfare for 6 day/5 night, that's cheap as shit. We are divers as well, was about double for Belize, and almost triple for Roatan.

  8. The HH at Pearl's Oyster Bar sustained me every weekday evening of 1992-1993. Dime shrimp, quarter oysters, dollar pints, and all of the free government cheese and crackers you could cram in your gullet. I was always able to splurge for an order of their BBQ shrimp no matter what.

Thats the place I miss the most.

  11. This is definitely a downer. I have thousands of dollars of Global cutlery, because that’s what my favorite chef, Anthony Bourdain used. My spaghetti is legendary, it is from the episode of No Reservations, where Tony picked out simple foods all people should be able to master. I still never fail to give him credit.
