  1. The defensive players are always too busy trying to "lay the wood" to the opposing player. They just need to maintain position and get their hands on the ball carrier and bring them down. Hell, half of our injuries and missed tackles this year, have been when a defender is trying to wrestle the ball carrier down and another defender comes in with a sloberknocker and hits one of his own guys. Don't worry about making a statement, just play sound football.

  2. Went to the bar in college, this was so long ago, that Miller Genuine Draft had just come out. Shotgunned a shitload beers with my buddies, they all weigh 200+ lbs., I weigh 150 soaking wet. All that carbonation meant some of that beer needed to come back up. I dashed towards the door, but knew I wouldn't make it. There was a table full of hot girls with about a six pack of empty Genuine Draft bottles in the middle. I proceeded to pick up two bottles and puked in them and never got one drop outside of the two bottles. I set the bottles back down on the table, gave them a wink, and walked my smashed ass out of there and back to the apartment. Shaved off facial hair, and got a haircut before I went back. One of those buddies tells that story to EVERYONE anytime we get together. I would say that's all I got, but I would be wrong.

Oh, and I'm about to go hang out at the bar with Jill Kennedy's mom and stepdad, look her up on PornHub. I mean Jill, not her Mom.

  3. It was Conner's card (the boyfriend). Good kid, but not a big client I assume, but I bet his whole family banks there. The company has good reviews, an I'm sure they are great on most transmissions, but they need to flag the 2008 year model and let people know how hard they are to get. I left a scathing one star review for them that isn't on the site yet. I assume they get to see it, and try to remedy the situation. This has cost me only about $200, personally, so far, sounds like it might end up being more.

However, he might have some leverage, his note on the truck is probably with the same bank, he owes $8k on the piece of shit. Tell them to get his money back, or drive to Texas and get the truck, the old transmission will be in the bed.

It's a country town with its main industry (railroading) dying off.

Probably alright if you want to downshift for a couple weeks and there's cool stuff relatively nearby.

There's a turntable or was, in the BNSF yard there.  That was kind of cool.  But only for 30 minutes or so.

Yeah, the old Santa Fe shops were pretty cool to go to in the early 70's, they had the turn table. That was still close enough to the "steam era" that they had a huge shed with about 5-10 old steam engines. Not any industrial places that will let you bring your 4 year old to climb all over everything anymore.

  5. So back in May, my niece's boyfriend's pickup transmission went out. I found him one online (no good deed goes unpunished) for $1099 from Rebuilttransmissionsupply.com, that included a free torque converter for a 2008 Silverado with almost 200k miles. After about 10 days of not receiving the rebuilt transmission we called them, and 2008 was a "one year only" transmission, a "15 pin" 4L60E, would have been nice if they told us this up front. They assured us they would have a rebuildable core in there in the next few days. After being assured that a transmission was on its way for the next six weeks, they finally asked us to ship his old transmission to Michigan so they could rebuild it. We agreed, but told them we would need about an hour to get off work and come meet the pick up driver, and to have him give us a call about an hour before he got there. Needless to say, they never called, and we missed the pick up.

With the obvious communication issues and empty promises, I thought it would be best not to ship the transmission, would probably never see it again. My niece's boyfriend has called repeatedly and was given the run around. Now it goes straight to their voicemail and they will not call him back, so he is out the $1099. This saga has drawn out over 6 months, how does he get his money back?

Funny, ive been wearing it 6-12 hours a day since march with no problems. Got my 2nd one in two weeks ago because my first one started to crack.

my wife has had no problems with hers. The other 200 or so people I work with that have envomasks also have had no problems

just a tip, you dont have to tighten envomask. Because its a silicone-to-face seal, you just have to essentially have it flush with your face, not tight. As long as the filter moves in and out when you breathe, youre fine

Probably my problem, but I have strong ears.

I see several people here pulling a trailer/5th wheel that has a utv on a 10-12 ft flatbed trailer behind it. I can’t imagine the logistics of making sure you don’t have to back up, and that you have room at gas stations or tight turning parking lots. 60-70 feet with two points of articulation?  I’m sure if you had all the room in the world, and time and patience, you could back that train somewhere.

I used to pull our 30 ft. fifth wheel, with a 16 foot trailer (hunting Jeep and corn) from Granbury to Aspermont, I would refuel at a truck stop in Cisco  where I didn't have to back up. You could probably get by backing it up 30 feet or so, but I made sure to never get myself in that situation.

Its still amazing to me that N95s are available to everyone now, and people are still opting for masks that only block 20-40% of particles

Why anyone wouldnt wear an N95 at this point is kinda silly

I bought that Envomask N95 that you recommended when all of this shit started. You can only wear that bastard for about twenty minutes before pulling it off to keep from passing out, that's if you are just sitting there. Heaven forbid you actually try to do anything more strenuous than grocery shopping.

  9. My old hometown, all my family still lives there. It was a pretty rough old railroad town when I was little. My old man worked at the shops as a railroad blacksmith. Now that the shops are closed, Cleburne has become about 50% hispanic. Frame houses built in the 40s-60s for railroad workers can be bought for well under $100k. Nothing really to do there, not a lot of good restaurants.

Immac is right, I would stay around Bryant Irvin in Ft. Worth and take a 20 minute ride down Chisholm Trail Parkway to Cleburne. You are going to have to have a rental car anyway.

Nobody said that. That is a strawman.

Having said that, if the United States completely shut down its economy and all people stayed at home for 10 days, a gigantic dent would be made it its progress. If all people stayed at home for 10 days and managed to stay 6-8 feet from other people, the virus would die until such time as it was imported again.

The point being that two weeks of pure "hell,"  ---- well thought and and well prepared for ----- is preferable to months and months of ongoing misery. The Swedes are going to find this out the hard way.

Essential workers would have to stay at home as well. Police, firemen, garbage collectors, doctors, nurses, newscasters, politicians...EVERYBODY. Hospitals would have to release everyone and send them home, nursing homes emptied, your house would just have to burn if it caught on fire, if you get sick or injured, you will have to make do. I would even suggest one person per room at home, for ten days. Anyone seen off their property will be shot on sight, invoke marshal law.

At this point, I am at "sign me up". It would be pure hell, and convincing the hoax crowd would be next to impossible, but tell them after 10 days shit goes back to normal. Rip the band-aid off and let the chips fall where they may. There is enough porn, gaming, and youtube videos to get people through.

  11. I could have bought a year newer M5 with the same mileage for less money, but plan on keeping the car for at least ten years, at which point it will probably have 250-300k miles. Wanna guess what the projected difference in repair costs and resale value were? It was absolutely hilarious. A 12 sec. car with 467hp that will go 300k miles with oil changes, tires, and routine maintenance is tough to pass up.

Probably more the dealer than anything and the deals weren't happening even at DFW. There was likely no dealer incentive at the time. My local VW dealer had a manager who was an asshat and way undervalued my trade-in then starting playing the four square game after I told him I could pay cash if I wanted. The Kia dealer was actually pretty professional for an outfit that sells a lot of cars to people who probably treat them like crap and have credit scores under 500.

I was concerned about expensive repairs and VW quality (been there done that) although the new car warranty for VW has vastly improved. The Golf was a 6 MT and was an absolute blast to drive. The Stinger was a bit more mature however. The 360 camera is a wheel saver and I think the GT2 package has some great accessories but likely not worth the full MSRP bump over the GT1. I almost got a screaming deal on a RWD Stinger GTS but the orange car would have stood out big time and I drive "spirited" from time to time.  BTW, the Lexus had great build quality but drove like a Camry. I would have loved to look for a RC-F or GS-F used but they hold value and good ones are rare.

Oh, and check the insurance quotes on the Stinger. You may have to shop around. Apparently my insurance company misclassified my car initially and the renewal rate almost doubles. Thanks to a 19 year male with clean record on our policy.

Been a while since I hit up this thread. But with this being the last year of the GS-F, prices are really going up. My 2016 had 17k on it when I bought it a year ago. I took it to the local Toyota place for the last oil change (33k miles) and the manager offered me $5k more than I paid for it. I went home and checked all of the car sites and couldn't find one with less than 35k miles for $8-9k of what I paid. First car I've ever owned that actually appreciated. Zero issues so far.
