  1. Headed to NO with the wife for a sales conference, so I'll get to stumble around during the day, while she is in meetings. One of our former tailgate members was from NO, and when we went with him, it was all old school. Pascal Manale's for oysters, bbq shrimp, and turtle soup, then off to Galatoire's. His brother was a waiter there, so we would sit in his section.

  2. Growing up, we had about 1/4 mile of Brazos River frontage above Lake Whitney. My Dad always kept a trotline out. We had a small 8 foot jonboat, and I remember him catching one so big, that he had to get in the water with it, rope the tail, and handed me the rope. When we pulled it in, it was as long as the boat, I estimate that that gar weighed right around 200 lbs. Biggest freshwater fish I have ever seen in person to this day.

Why do you hate Texan writers?

Because if they are Texans, they do not live in New York. Are they the only one right, and everyone else is wrong? Don't hate Texan writers, just do not care to read articles written by Texans about a COL comparison from 1700 miles away. I say that as a 25 year Texas Monthly subscriber.

  5. This is very simple, all housing being equal, same square footage, age, build quality, and proximity to downtown area, which is cheaper? Two family cars, gas, insurance, car payment, and parking which is cheaper? If everything that the average family has in Houston is applied to New York pricing, which one is cheaper?

Most analgesics are metabolized through the liver and pose some risk for mild liver damage.  Acetaminophen is worse than most and can not only damage the liver, but cause liver failure, at dosages that are large, but easily achieved by the home user with a bottle of Tylenol.

That's how the conversation came up. I knew an ex-EMT that was fired for telling a girl that had attempted suicide 5 or 6 times, "take 25 Tylenol, so we can just get this over with." Apparently it would cause irreversible liver failure. I haven't taken acetaminophen in probably 25 years.

Had Will Johnson attended a better quality of trade school, he would have eventually realized what those with a university education immediately recognize as p-hacking.

FCS teams played since 2012- Texas A&M 9, Texas 0. Or, we could look at conference wins since 2012 - Texas A&M 34, Texas 41.

The lowest possible metric of qualifying as a competitive program is to have a winning record in conference play. If you can't at least finish above .500 in conference play, there is no possible way one can misrepresent any data set to conclude the program is competitive on the national stage.

A&M has the ignominious distinction of going a quarter-century without having been able to put together consecutive seasons with a winning record in conference play. Not just in S!E!C! play, but they suffered the same lack of competitiveness for well over a decade while still in the Big 12.

That anyone even attempts to misrepresent aggy football over the past quarter-century as anything but mediocre speaks to the cluelessness of that individual.

However, lying to themselves has become a crucial part of the aggy experience, so I guess aggy gotta do what aggy gotta do to get through the day.

Someone with a twitter account needs to drop this stat onto that dickhole's tweet.

  9. I'll put a knot on your head, so big, a calf could suck it.

If I could buy you for what you think you're worth and sell you for what you're really worth, I would be a rich man.

Having you help me, is like losing three good men.

She/he is so ugly they have to drink curdled milk.

It was cut out right, but sewed up wrong. (poor design)

His/her teeth are so crocked, they could eat corn on the cob through a tennis racket.

She should sue the city for building the sidewalk too close to her ass. (short)

The Good Lord split her a long way before he decided to punch a hole. (My granddad used to say this when he saw a long legged woman)

    One of my own:

My town was so small, that the city limit signs entering and leaving town were on the same post.

  10. I hate to kick the fire ant mound, but here is the actual passage in Romans that causes the rift:

Romans 1:24-32 New International Version (NIV)

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

If you follow the literal interpretation, it is easy to see why churches are reluctant to perform gay marriages, and condone a gay lifestyle. It goes against Biblical teachings. So are Christians narrow-minded? I have no problems with gays getting married, but they can have the service performed in any number of places besides a church. So there is a precedence.
