where'd you find the ezra 7.  it seems plentiful in other cites, but not Austin.

It was in the “allocated” section of customer service at Total Wine in Dallas.  They also had some Bibb and Tucker 12 year for like $130 but  I passed on that one.  Have you tried the Ezra 7?

He already bought the bottle.  Sunk cost and all that.  I always have a bottle of EWBiB around the house for that purpose.

Not sure if this quote was about my post but I did not buy either bottle just the Knob Creek 12.  I just bought a bottle of Old Ezra 7 year for $34.  Anybody try that one yet?

Who will be looking for a FA QB (for more than a vet contract)?
Cincinnati - presumably will draft and start Burrow.

Miami likely to draft a QB, and they have Fitzpatrick.

SD has Tyrod and many think they will draft Herbert or Tua.

Jags claim they plan to start Minshew. Maybe a FA destination.

Bears brought in Foles to compete with Trubisky.

Vegas - Carr and Mariota, may draft a QB (and if Carr is cut, he’d be a more attractive FA than Dalton or Newton).

New England - Stidham and Hoyer? Ehhhh

Denver - Elway going to bump Lock before he even starts?

Backup jobs (possibly) open in NYJ, TEN, PHI, GB, MIN, LAR, SEA

I think Dalton and Newton will have slim pickings, so if they want to start they may have to take a low cost deal.

    Winston also.

These are my questions. If 2020 is realistically not going to be played, every player on your roster is losing a year (at least in time, not mileage) and decreasing their future value. Divesting your team of “older” veterans, even at a discount, might be wise. If you can trade back or put a couple times for 2021 draft capital, it’s not really going to piss off your fans that you are down a star rookie this year because there is no this year. And you get more buzz in the 2021 draft.

The point about a 2021 draft based on how players performed as NCAA underclassmen in 2019 is valid. It might be a crap shoot, and even more reason to keep trading down and shotgunning more draft picks to see what hits.

Being married into a Mass. family, I am a little sad to see the Patriots’ dynasty end with Brady and Gronk in Tampa and the aging core remaining to be led by Bobby Hoyer (lol fuck nah). Once again, the Patriots could be the luckiest damn franchise to come out of COVID for these reasons...their core people will be two years older in 2021 than when they were last on the field getting run over by the Titans. Belichick could cut all these mother fuckers to get them off the books as soon as 2020 looks to be canceled, and replenish the roster with hoards of 2nd-5th round picks that he tends to accumulate. Unrelated to the draft, I expect NE to sign Andy Dalton when the dust settles. Stidham beat out Hoyer last year and Hoyer sucks balls. Indy is paying most of his salary and I believe virtually nothing is guaranteed of the $1M veteran deal NE gave him. He’s just insurance/knows the system/camp meat.

Good points.  One thought on the draft is instead of stockpiling for next year someone like Belichick may want an extra year of those young draft picks under his tutelage even if it’s virtual.  Other organizations may feel the same way.  Why roll the dice on a young draft pick next year when you can draft one now and groom them (without live games possibly) for a year?  As far as the Patriots I think they go with Stidham and see what he has got.  For all we know he is as good as Dalton or any other game manager.  They don’t have cap room for Dalton anyway unless he wants the minimum or they start cutting players which I don’t see happening.  I would love to grab Newton on a minimum deal and see what he has left but he will probably get more than that elsewhere.  It will be an interesting draft and an interesting year.  What if there is no NFL season and Brady and Gronk never play again but the Patriots got a draft pick and future cap space for them?  That would be the luck you mentioned that the Pats could get.

  5. I watched about 5 minutes of the “press conference” and all I got out of it was he has been the best President EVER to Farmers, the best President EVER to senior citizens and he built the greatest economy in the history of the world in just 3 years.  I then had to turn on Netflix and watch some Bob Ross painting show to relax.

I’m curious how the pandemic is going to alter the way teams pick tomorrow night. They haven’t had a whole lot of hands on time with these prospects. A guy like Tua might fall because of all the uncertainty surrounding him. I’d take a guy like Eason in early 2nd over Herbert in the top 10.

I also wonder what the thought process is based on "will they have a NFL season this year" or "will it be a shortened season".  Some teams may trade a bunch of picks for 2021 or do the opposite as they may not want a ton of 2021 picks (if there is no college football this year) because they will have trouble scouting players who didn't play for a year.

I don't know if Bill Belichick is very good at trades. He didn't get much in return for Jimmy or Brisket, gave up a 2nd rounder for Sanu and traded Gronk along with a 7th rounder to move up to the 4th round. I figured the Patriots would've received OJ Howard and a late round pick, they truly have jack shit at TE. The Patriots are going all in on a tank for Trevor Lawrence?

They had no leverage.  Once Gronk filed the reinstatement paperwork they couldn’t get his salary under the cap anyways so they had to trade him.  Technically the Pats got a 4th round pick for essentially nothing as Gronk was retired and never coming back to the Pats.  It is a positive for the Patriots since they got something for nothing but as a fan it will be hard watching Brady to Gronk in a Bucs uniform.  Also, knowing Belichick he will trade that 4th round pick for 3 6th rounders and then draft 3 players that were predicted to go undrafted.  He will then cut all 3 of those players before training camp even happens.  It is what it is.

  9. Don’t know how to link Ian Rappaport but he just said Gronkowski has told the Patriots he wants to play this year but only for the Bucs and with Tom Brady.  He is demanding a trade there.  Not sure how I feel about this.  I am not rooting against Brady per se but I also don’t think loading the Bucs up just to win a Super Bowl makes sense unless they give up some draft capital or young players.

is this based on previous epidemics that required worldwide stay-at-home orders, followed by haphazard willy-nilly openings of states?

i think 60k by august is the best possible scenario if everyone stayed at home until august.  and even then it's probably more like 75k.  but that's not what's happening.

The number of deaths won’t matter.  At some point the argument from Trump will be that those people were going to die anyways from something so maybe it wasn’t even Corona Virus.  We can’t really be sure what killed those 100K people over the last 6 months.  His base will eat it up and Fox News and the rest of his mouthpieces will spout that story to the masses.

Makes me jealous.  I was supposed to be leaving for Prague this afternoon for a week at the Four Seasons Hotel with some business clients. Never been to Prague and was really looking forward to it.

I'm confused. He led me to believe that this is not the responsibility of the federal government. Shouldn't he say that the Governors did a disastrous job of handling H1N1.

Instead of looking at this as a federal versus a state issue or President versus Governors issue just look at it as when there was a black guy in charge everything was bad but now that there is a white guy in charge everything is perfect.  Don’t look at the actual facts or anything.

So, I'm here in Austin at a couple of hospitals in different roles, and respectfully, go fuck yourself. "PPE stores looking ok??" Again, come work some shifts with me in our ICUs that _are not close to peaking but are still growing in COVID patient numbers_. Reuse that single-use N95 for the whole shift and multiple patients. Reuse a shitty yellow paper gown that is designed to be ripped safely off the body, but instead we have to gently shimmy out of it so we can put in on again. Reuse a plastic face shield that becomes so streaked with bleach and chg that you can barely see what you're doing. And then remember that this stuff isn't even really enough to actually protect you from exposure.

And no, neither bedside nurses nor advanced practice nurses are being offered any more money for doing this.

This dude is a troll which is why I have him on ignore and I suggest you try that also.  So PPE stores are OK but all those nurses hospital workers, paramedics and doctors all over the country complaining about it are just lying but he works at a magical hospital where everything is perfect.  Total BS and total Troll.

How does anybody this stupid function day to day?  Seriously, this shit isn't complicated. Children can understand communicable diseases. If you can't even grasp a basic understanding of why this shit is so stupid, I'm amazed that you've managed to not accidentally kill yourself while like, mowing the lawn.

If only.  It would be one less person that I already have on ignore.  He is a troll or one of the dumbest human beings I have encountered and I have encountered a shit ton of dumb asses.

W was at least a lot more likeable than Trump. And Trump probably would have lost the Iraq war somehow.

Even though this topic shouldn't be in the Dem Nominee thread, Trump would have never gone to war with Iraq because he would have been close friends with Saddam as he loves him some dictators.

  16. He needs to go because he is an always will be a total piece of shit but more importantly his campaign is bugging the shit out of me by robo calling my phone all the time about donating to his campaign or listening to his town halls. I am not a registered Republican and never donated to him so I wish he would leave me the fuck alone as I want to vomit when I answer my phone and hear, "Hi, I'm John Cornyn...…"

so i know this graphic has been up for a couple of days, but i wanted to rewind right quick.  is this the council that he was asked about in a briefing a few days ago, and they asked him if it would be bipartisan, and he said something to the effect of, "well i think it is, i didn't really pay attention to who was a democrat or republican, i just picked the team i thought was qualified to get the job done", or am i thinking about something else?

i know once he says stupid or embarrassing shit, it's hard to keep track, especially if it's from way long ago like 24-48 hours, but i thought i remembered something like this.

It is bi-partisan.  Kushner is a Democrat and Ivanka changed from a Democrat (when daddy ran for President) to an Independent.  You are fake news just twisting the facts to meet your lamestream media way of thinking (that is how defending this is done, right?).
