Not to be a downer, but that can’t be a good sign, right?

    Alternatives:

    1. The BP needs work, they feel Witt can provide help to begin the season.

    2. Witt isn’t ready to pitch a SP’s pitch count. Bring him back slowly through the BP.

    3. They don’t trust his stuff (at this point) to be a starter.

    4. Someone besides LBJ and Hurley is showing promise.

    5. Some combination of the above.

If Witt starts in the BP and the intent is to work him back as a SP, I’d assume he is a middle reliever. However, maybe he gets a look at closer?

Just spitballing. I’m probably off on all of this.

I like the idea of witt as the Sunday starter.  Having said that, In David Pierce I trust.

  2. UCF uses ticketmaster for baseball tickets.  There is also a premium on Texas games.  $40 a seat vs $11 when they are playing Oklahoma State.

Glad we are going to UCF once.

Does every thread on this god-forsaken website end up devolving into rehashing previous failures?  That being said, it was 2004 for me.

We are pretty strong on perceived future failures too!

I’ll never get over ‘04. I’ve never seen a team dominate it’s regional, super regional and their side of the CWS bracket like then lose in the championship series. Man, if LeCure didn’t take that liner off the heal, we might’ve taken game 2 with Justin Simmons lined up for game 3. Oh well, 2005 made up for it. Still chaps my ass though. Winning 3 out of 4 from ‘02-‘05 would’ve had a nice ring to it.

Bout time we went on another run like that. Make it so, Pierce

2004 was terrible.  I still remember the look on Curtis Thigpen's face.   It was the absolute last time I ever bet on Texas baseball.  I was convinced we had that series locked.  It hurt.

How is having Moreland back on radio better than him calling the games on tv?

Some of us use craig as the audio for all tv broadcasts Texas baseball-adjacent.

I hate the word "analytics". It just isn't the proper word for this. In the context of sports, it's basic math. It's addition, subtraction, and division. It's just information that fills you in on tendencies. "When they are in this situation, they tend to do this".

It's information. That's it. The word "analytics" makes it seem like something more than it is. You're just taking information to make a more informed decision. To just blindly "go by the analytics" means you aren't really coaching, and really is just a cop out for bad coaching decisions. And that's all that was by Dan Campbell yesterday. Bad coaching decisions.

They would not have been there were it not for his "bad" coaching decisions.  They were 7.5 point road dogs.  The fact that it was a game was remarkable.

I bet detroit and the money line +275, but there is no way I am sad about the Lions efforts this season.
