  1. This kid can play, 1st team all conference and conference tournament MVP as a freshman. Got even better in year 2. That’s quite a list for someone who just entered the portal today, everyone wasted no time.
  2. BeastTexas is correct, it’s the 4th fastest HS indoor time of all time. (That’s on me, I should’ve specified). Indoors has a shorter straight away and tighter turns, so it’s a harder race for the 200m and the time’s aren’t the same. I think the fastest HS indoor time is 20.62. And also as beast pointed out, Harbor did it without a starting block, which is a disadvantage. He can run even faster.
  3. 20.79 is the 4th best high school 200m of all time and he’s 6-5 225 pounds, so yes, literally.
  4. He ran a freaking 20.79 200m earlier this year. The composite doesn’t even have him in the top 15, which seems absurd. He’s the best athlete in this class by a mile. His athleticism at his size is literally unprecedented.
  5. Rick Barnes was really good here until 08, no one is denying that. But it was 7 years of mediocrity by the time he left, which is almost as long as he was good here, and yes, I think Shaka being worse made people forget that.
  6. Rick’s legacy here really got a boost from the fact that Shaka was somehow even worse in the tournament. Some got nostalgic for Rick’s second round exits because Shaka could never even get out of the first.
  7. Well, if it’s any consolation to them, nobody was beating Duncanville anyway.
  8. McKinney beat Richardson earlier in the playoffs in another thriller, and Richardson was probably better than Westlake. Richardson was the only team to beat Duncanville this year, and was ranked the #1 team in the state before they lost to McKinney. Westlake is really good, but plenty of people saw McKinney winning this one, because of what they’ve shown earlier in the playoffs. Edit: Also McKinney was a top 10 team too, with one of the best players in the country, it’s not like they came out of nowhere.
  9. Crazy finish to regulation, and to 2OT, but that can’t be one of the biggest state tourney upsets ever. It’s not even McKinney’s biggest upset this postseason.
  10. Duncanville vs McKinney in the 6A title game tomorrow. A ton of top ‘23 guys in that game including the top two guys in the state #1 ranked Ron Holland for Duncanville and #2 Jakobe Walter for Mckinney. Duncanville was down 30-10 in the second quarter of the semis against Atascocita and won 50-36. Finished the game on a 40-6 run and gave up just 4 points the entire second half.
  11. Pretty much all of the Alabama State kids went there specifically to play for Mo Williams and he just left to take the Jackson State job. Alabama State’s entire team is in the portal.
  12. That whole thing was so silly. I get kids don’t know any better, but an adult in his and the other Garland kids life should’ve advised them to not to base their decision so much on a position coach, especially one with so much obvious upward mobility potential. It happened a little quicker than most thought, but there was always zero chance Samples stayed at TCU longer than a year or two.
  13. Jonathan Kuminga has looked great, it just took him a little while to get set in the rotation because he’s on a really good team. I do think NIL is going to kill the G League Ignite thing before it gets a chance to actually hit its stride though.
  14. It’s pretty rare for any top QB to wait until NSD to commit. This is OB creating content out of thin air because there’s not a ton to talk about right now
  15. That why I used the word “if”. I was responding to speculation on this board by people who are generally more informed than you.
  16. Maybe you should stop making assumptions. I didn’t say anything about Owens, that was not a response to him, it was a response to everything in this thread. And while I just caught up on this ‘23 class thread I’m not new to this in general. I know how it works, you can spare me your “be patient and trust the coaches” lecture. I actually agree with this, but if this season goes even remotely as bad as last season and recruiting is in the tank, there just isn’t any reason to keep Sark either. As far as NIL, I’m with you, this looks like this will be the second class in a row where bag money fucks us. I know we all expect NIL to dwarf bag money in the future, but if it takes a couple of more classes to do that, we’re going to be in a massive hole talent wise.
  17. Stayed off of this board for a while until the 2022 class was all wrapped up, (I only got time for one of these at a time these days) and good Lord it’s depressing as hell in here. If CTJ is right about this class being ranked between 15-25, then you might was well get rid of Sark the moment you see the results aren’t there this season, because that’s a transition class anyways. The only times we’ve finished outside of the top 10 in the past 20 years or so are in transition years or when we took 15 or less kids.
  18. He also could actually end up being good at tackle, there’s no harm in seeing if that’s the case or not. 9.95ers and most of this board infamously think 99% of all high school OL are destined for the the interior because they apply NFL standards to high school kids.
  19. Waco and Midway finished last and second-to-last in that district. Waco went winless and Midway’s only win was against Waco. Enrollment numbers saved them, Waco dropped to 5AD1 so Midway lost their travel partner, and another Mansfield school moved up to 6A to be a more natural replacement.
  20. It’ll be a cold day in hell before HP gets put in a district with the south Dallas juggernauts. You avoided the Rockwall schools too. Just got added to the Irving/ Richardson district. Easy transition to 6A, biggest challenge in football is just Jesuit.
