    Yes. EPL is the worst.

    EPL 2021-22

The FA ruined the EPL. They never should have allowed sales to foreign ownership. EPL teams are now almost universally owned by a laughable collection of the biggest cunts in the world.

Completely disagree. No one was giving Liverpool supporters the benefit of the doubt after Heysel and its fallout (the removal of English football from European competition for basically a decade). Frame by frame analysis of Hillsborough also wasn't really available in 1989. Heysel enabled both the coverup and the hostile media coverage.

Your self-righteousness falls a little flat when you post a laundry list of Liverpool's indiscretions without mentioning Heysel. No question. That said, you can understand how people jumped to conclusions at the time given the coverage of Hillsborough by the tabloids and the fact that Liverpool supporters murdered 39 people in stadium during the European Cup Final four years earlier.
  6. It was woke casting ("Uhhhhh . . . my checklist is still missing fat and Asian") but it didn't work primarily because of the shockingly bad writing. She is also a mediocre actress. Not in the same universe as the guy who played Finn, but still shit. No one with a brain complained about the diversity in Rogue One (female lead, Latino co-lead, Asian, Black, Arab actors in the other key roles) because the writing was quality, the acting was great and most fans comprehend that the universal environment of Star Wars should be diverse. The sequel trilogy put its diverse and overmatched cast in a position to fail and they did so, miserably in most cases. If the writing and acting is good in Kenobi, it will be treated like Rogue One. If if sucks, it will be treated like the sequels.
  7. Holy shit. Cam with the awful duck off the 16th tee. Awful
  8. that involve water
  9. Cam going to win unless he finds water
  10. Jesus. DJ with the 63. Course record
  11. Huge shots coming up for Smith (in pine straw on 15) and Bradley (17 tee shot).
  12. Strange leaderboard which seems to happen from time to time at the Players. Two guys outside of the Top 250 in Lahiri (322) and Ghim (252) and arguably the most unheralded players in the top 10 (Cameron Smith), Top 20 (Sam Burns) and Top 40 (Tom Hoge) in the world rankings, plus Paul Casey and a guy I've never heard of (2019 Sanderson Farms Championship winner Sebastian Munoz). Someone is getting the biggest win of their career today.
  13. I thought it was an effort to avoid going to jail (i.e., sending this asshole to jail for such a brief period of time is more trouble than it is worth).

    USMNT 2022

Weston is out. Reyna is probably out. Turner and Steffen are both up in the air. We don't have a 9. Grreggg is the man responsible for addressing these issues. We could easily finish 5th.

  19. Well that settles it. We will never hear Westbrick uttered again in an NBA arena. Westbric ... Westbrook has effectively nipped that in a bud.

    USWNT 2021

Forgive me, but I'll choose to defer to Macario's own thoughtful explanation of her motivations and inspirations over the deranged, deluded, bitter and conspiratorial rantings of a message board poster who possesses only superficial knowledge of the history of women's soccer.
  23. Ukraine isn't Moldova. Overlaying it on the US it would stretch E-W from Philly to St. Louis and NW to SE from Chicago to Charlotte. Good luck with that occupation

    USWNT 2021

In her own words (definitely a Nike marketing ploy though): That mentality allowed me to thrive on the pitch, but the thing is ... the games end, right? You still have to go home and sit with that. You can gain grit and determination from abuse, but I also needed role models. Female role models. In Brazil, there was Marta, of course, and I could see my own experiences reflected in hers, but I was like, “O.K., who else is there?” So, that’s when my dad went to Google and typed the words: best women’s soccer player ever. And, right there on the screen, up popped Mia Hamm. The ’99ers did their thing the year I was born, and Hamm had retired not so long after, so we missed watching that generation live. But thanks to YouTube, my dad and I became addicted to watching video after video. We watched everything. We studied her game but also the way the crowd reacted to her. We saw entire stadiums full of people, screaming, “Mia! Mia!” That’s a very powerful image for a young girl — even one sitting in Brazil, in front of the computer. It wasn’t just her though. It was the whole USWNT team across generations: Abby Wambach, Hope Solo, Megan Rapinoe — these amazing, badass women — that the whole nation was getting behind. They could be themselves, represent what they wanted, stand up for what they believed in, and the crowd loved them for it. The team was playing on another level and setting the bar in women’s soccer. From as early as 10, I knew that this was where I needed to be. And so did my parents. When I turned 12, I wouldn’t be allowed to play with the boys anymore. To avoid the risk of my talent ending up completely buried and, most importantly, to give my brother and me a better education and a better future, my family decided to take this incredible leap of faith. I can’t pretend it all happened overnight, just like that, but America became our collective goal. While my dad researched the best locations for me and my brother in this brand new world, it was decided that my mom would stay behind to provide for us — even if Brazilian reals couldn’t compare to dollars. So, because of a dream that started with shooting drills with my dad and watching Mia on YouTube, we moved 5,000 miles away, to a new home, a new language, a new everything.
