Thanks again for the recs. We had a blast and ate our way thru San Fran. Had Nari last night and it was some of the best Thai I've had. Daeho Kalbijjim was a crazy busy spot but we were able to get in and had fun meal. Lazy Bear was just incredible so I hope you were able up get tickets again. I forgot how fun San Francisco can be and look forward to going back sooner rather than later.

My question remains for any of y’all who minimize Jan 6 or believe that we shouldn’t have responded with more deadly force:
Replace that mob with one of Muslims mad because the will of Allah was thwarted because their candidate didn’t win, and they do all do the EXACT same acts while yelling “Allahu Akbar!” What would you have 2) expected and/or 2) wanted government forces to do in response?
No answer of “but BLM!” - tell me what you would have us do if the mob committing the same acts, with the same grievances about a lost election, did it in the name of Allah.
You damn well know we would and should have mowed them down. That’s what you would have wanted to happen, and rightly so.Or, let's juxtapose it against the immigration problem. Most critical of the response to a mob overwhelming the capital to stop an election are all too good going to extreme measures in stopping, by any means necessary, a group of individuals trying to enter our country to work.

Republicans rage about Nancy Pelosi or Hillary’s emails, but damn, Republican women are engaged in three-ways, getting their teenaged daughters and their friends drunk and fighting them, giving out handjobs during the Beetlejuice musical, and the list goes on.
And I would respect the shit out of that generally if it wasn't for them trying to shove down everyone's throats whatever "morals" they think everyone should have.

Oh hell yeah, that’s awesome! I’m not going to act like I’m a regular of the 2+ star Michelin scene, but I’ve been able to go twice and it’s my favorite special occasion experience. Excellence without the austere formality you typically get in that range. Are they back to the dinner party format? We last went in 2021 when you could have your own table, which was nice.
For pre/post dinner drinks, Beehive nearby is good, as is Shotwell for a dive bar. If you want to go all out, what is basically Lazy Bear’s bar, True Laurel, is a few blocks away. My favorite bar in the city.
edit: fuck it, now trying to get tickets next month for our anniversary.
I'm really excited. Only been to one other 2 star, minibar in DC. Was a great experience but glad to hear this should be a bit more casual. The concept sounds cool though I'm more a cocktail person rather than a wine person. I'll see if I can get her to go to the bar ahead but she ended up getting us the post dinner dessert wine tasting as well, so we'll see.

Ah gotcha, just head over to Fillmore for whatever you need then. I will say that Mattina is a new spot right down the block from Enso that’s great for coffee and breakfast, have been hitting it up frequently lately.
Wife ended up getting us tickets to Lazy Bear for a nice dinner. Ever been there?

Are you staying at the Hotel Kabuki? Nari, the Thai restaurant there, is one of my favorite places in the city. Daeho Kalbijjim is an awesome Korean BBQ spot across the street, be prepared for a long wait though. You can also walk around the Japan Center Mall and square, tons of great tiny sushi stalls - my favorites are Oma and Sasa.
The area is walkable but I don’t find it particular enjoyable. The area between Geary and Fulton can be quite sketchy. You’re right off the Fillmore and Divis districts though, and there are tons of places. The Progress (American), Anchovy Bar (Seafood) and Copra (Southern Indian) and right next to Japantown, as well as Boom Boom Room for late night music. LMK if you need any rec for anything in particular.
We're staying at Hotel Enso but will always seek out a solid Thai place. Really appreciate the recs and info. My sis-in-law just moved to the city so not sure our itinerary, but definitely wanted some options right around the hotel in my back pocket.

Will be in San Fran in a couple weeks with the family and staying in the Japan Town district. Any general recs for that area or walkable?

Fair enough. There is a fairly narrow experience amplified here, funda/evangelical, 90s-2000s upbringing, etc.
Maybe you are over amplifying your narrow experience as the norm.
I grew up in Austin, in the Lutheran church, and even they had elements of this shit. Not over the top "purity balls" but definitely signing pledges when you are a young teen and lots of fear mongering at church camps and events.

I'm sure the Supremes will deny to hear the case because of states rights to run their own elections...
I wonder what the down stream implications of this would be and how the GOP will weaponize this type of thing. Could we conceivably see all red states remove Biden from their ballots based on some crime conspiracy?

Why is Russia having problems with eggs? Did they lose millions of chickens overnight? Or are the people deciding to eat them?
Not based on any info, but we had a pretty bad bird flu that caused the massive increase in prices last year. Could be something similar.

I'm the first to admit, I'm easily fooled when it comes to internet pictures/photoshop. This does not look real at all. Epstein and the other dude behind him without shirts? Their heads don't look real. And everybody is looking in a different direction, not at the camera? Makes little sense. But, and I'm sure I'll get assigned to a re-education camp in 2025, I am 100% certain that Donald Trump sexually molested a teenage girl many years ago. And while it's never okay to do that to a minor, it's especially disturbing when it was his own daughter. That he publicly makes comments about her attractiveness is icing on the cake by a predator to his victims that he still enjoys lording over her.
But yeah, if somebody wants to explain what the fuck is going on in this "photo", I'm all ears.
Honestly kind of looks ai generated. Welcome to the future.
