Judging from his career thus far he's usually good for 2 or 3 games where he goes off for 5 or more 3s. It won't hurt to give him spot check minutes throughout the season to see if he's hot on any particular night. His defense isn't bad in my eyes. The main thing he lacks (outside of his shot being broke right now) is the inability to penetrate.

    This post has aged well.

They called yesterday. They are relocating the students to the North - North East End Zone, so my tickets in Section 17 are being relocated to Section 31. This move sucks for me, so I guess I will see what other options are available when its my time to change / update seats in April.

Did they say why they’re making this change? I mean, it’s obviously revenue optimization but wondering what the spin is?

The word around the neighborhood is that Coach Salazar (the DC) will take over. Westlake’s defense over the last three years has clearly been the biggest driver of their success along with Klubnik the last two so it would make sense.

Coach Dodge, the alumni, current and former players, and most importantly the other existing coordinators and position coaches overwhelmingly support Salazar as the next head coach. He's been the unsung hero during this run - he deserves his shot.

Unless getting those people to actually sit in their seats helps the team get better and win more games I think there are more pressing problems to address

The lack of fans in the SE End zone seats diminishes the home field advantage. It’s not loud or intimidating in any way. It’s an embarrassment.

Not yet able to start a new thread, nor can I find one pertaining to 2021 bowl projections so I will leave this here.

as of week 5 I’ve seen 4 different outlets predicting UT to the Sugar Bowl.

CBS sports has Hog vs UT

Athelon sports has Ole Miss vs UT

College football news has UT vs gata

Sarurday down south has gata vs UT

Brett McMurphy has cheezit bowl Notre Dame vs UT

Meanwhile, preseason predictions had us vs Ole Miss in Texas bowl, UT vs Washington in the Alamo, Dome vs UT in cheezit, Miami vs UT cheezit, etc.

i know that nobody knows shit right now, but currently there’s a pretty consistent theme of us playing in the Sugar against who fucking knows.

if things go well for both of us this season I don’t mind a rematch against hogs.

    This post is very aggy.

  6. I’m just confused why it’s such a big deal that there is no talk of it and it’s still being deleted. Maybe after tomorrow it will stop getting deleted?

This seems like the reasonable approach. Tomorrow is the Memorial Service and a day to celebrate the Life of Jake Ehlinger. There will be plenty of time to discuss what needs to be discussed, because make no mistake it’s truly a got damn tragedy.

  7. LOL. We’re on the same team brah, we both want the same thing - to see some badass shows. I’m just having some fun with you.

I do honestly think you are 6 months too conservative in your projections on a return to normalcy.

This thing is blowing wide open in late July. There is enough air cover for the artists, venues and production companies, now that pro and college sports are going back to 100% capacity, vaccinations are hitting critical mass, etc.

Sure there will be some bands and venues that choose to play it conservative and delay til mid 2022, but I think the live music business is going to act a lot like the Big 10 did last summer. Once Dave Matthews, Maroon 5, Foo Fighters and other major acts start touring, the damn is going to break, and those that misread the room will scramble to get back touring and making money.

This isn’t all just conjecture, I may have some inside knowledge too bud ;)

  8. Don't worry assholes, y'all can consider me the sunshine pumper of this thread. Big Venue live music, Major Act tours, and large scale Music Festivals are just over the horizon. The train has left the station, there ain't no stopping the rock-n-roll train. Late summer and fall are gonna be on like donkey kong! Thunderchoad is full of shit. Checks notes:

Hinterland / Bonnaroo / ACL / Outside Lands / Life is Beautiful are a go.

DMB, Avett Brothers & Tyler Childers, Tame Impala, Deftones, Leon Bridges, Megan Thee Stallion, Post Malone, Vampire Weekend, KOL, Foo Fighters, Lizzo, etc all starting to perform the latter half of the summer.

  9. Thunder, you sound like a knowledgeable dude, but I respectfully disagree with your skepticism.

Live music in the US is a $10B plus industry that’s been offline for a year. The vast majority of artists, promoters, production companies and venues cant afford another year without revenue. As such, they’re going to roll the dice COVID be damned.
