    Seriously?

OK. Why not.  We had a tremendous off season. We picked up:

    • Max Abmas - All-Region PG/SG from Oral Roberts who took them to the Sweet 16. One of the best 3-point scorers in NCAA history. Could be All-Big 12 or better.
    • Kadin Shdrick - Big guy form Virginia. Multi year starter. Should be a significant upgrade on defense. Also 80% FT shooter. He may be the missing piece we have been needing on both ends.
    • Ithiel Hunter - Multi year starting combo guard from UCF. Another decent range scorer and FT shooter.
    • Chendall Weaver - All-Freshman player from UTA. Yet another solid range scorer and defender.  Will be a big piece of the puzzle NEXT year. This year will probably get <15 mpg.
    • Ze'Rik Onyema - Big guy from UTEP who Terry originally recruited. Muscular enforcer type player who will regulate off the bench

Those are the big pieces.  Dillon Mitchell withdrew from the NBA draft and should be a nightmare for teams at the 3/4.  We also return Tyrese Hunter who will likely be the team leader at PG. He has All-Big 12 or better upside as well.

Finally we return Dylan Disu who was playing at an All-American level when he went down in March. We will likely get him back in December.

Oh and Brock Cunningham returns as well. The best glue guy in the country.

That's all I got from memory.

Serious thanks for this, I haven't been following as much as I should.

I have one more question. I am getting tickets for my kids birthday to the Wyoming game. What side of the student section area will have have better views of scantily clad coeds? Trying to nail down my seats right now and need to cement his long term commitment to Texas.

  2. I still have a few weeks until things get active. Deer are all very chill right now. I have 7 2-3 year old bucks vacuuming up all the corn. Doubt the doe will go anywhere near that sausage fest.

Last night I had 8 doe come in after sunset. Only saw them because the hog light went off on the feeder.  My luck needs to turn around. I was hoping they would be here this morning. I want a doe this weekend.

  3. My nephew is there for the weekend doing the visit thing. He gets to be on the sidelines during the FB game tomorrow I think. His dad texted me some photos from the visit so far. Have to get the socials pics I guess.

I hope he ends up in the program but I can't root against him continuing to do what he is doing and getting drafted. I selfishly want to see him play for Texas though.

  4. Had an uneventful trip to the ranch. I should have known that was a bad omen. So far I broke the front door window from a rock while mowing and then the mower flat stopped working. It's like the brakes are just engaged and won't release.

Oh well, all of that is for Sunday.

Sitting in the blind waiting for the terrorist...errr pigs to show up.

Not gonna let bullshit bring me down.

Yea it's like all the Houston fans conveniently forget their 3-4 years of 10-15 page max season threads on Shaggy from 10-14.  Now they have gone full Texags every thought is a post from the jump.  Seriously there were like 5 guys over there who wasted almost 11K posts on this past season.  That isn't an indication of some strong fanbase, it's an indication that 5 of them may be mentally ill shut-ins.

7....2... I watched that bullshit....but then 7....2.. happened. See you next year.

The aftermath of this game was pretty much where Mack lost me. McCoy had that same shoulder/neck injury that was his achilles heel (Bama, more than once in NFL). Snead took over and did well enough to win, getting us to 42. The D gave up 45, though, and we lost it. Worse, two weeks later, McCoy was still not back to full strength, and worse, was sicker than shit from the flu. Mack started McCoy on a cold, windy day, and McCoy was completely ineffective. Snead stood next to Mack on the sidelines, but Mack kept McCoy on the field until the last play. McCoy was viciously fouled by an ag, while throwing a wounded duck that was intercepted. The fould was called, but for some reason the refs decided it was a dead ball foul and allowed the interception to stand. McCoy was obviously hurt and had to be helped the last few steps to the sideline. We stopped the ags and got the ball back one last time, and Mack - fucking Mack - let McCoy go back out, with less than a minute left, trailing 12-7. A couple of more wounded duck, fluttering, no-chance passes later, McCoy was flattened again, grabbing the shoulder as he went down. The hit was textbook targeting in today's rules: full speed rush, crown of the helmet into the top of the breastbone after the pass was thrown. This time he did not get up, and had to be carted off the field. After 59 minutes and 40 seconds of riding a dead horse, Mack finally sent Snead on the field, for his one and only play. Snead spent the entire game next to Mack, doing everything but begging to go in. Fuck Mack. Fuck Mack forever. And then some.

    Username checks out.

Just a little over 60 hours until feeders go off on Opening Day of rifle season. I'm already struggling to focus at work.

Planning to duck out from work early Friday afternoon to get to my place with at least an hour or two of sunlight left. Wanna check and make sure nothing's gone wrong with feeders in the past 2 weeks and put a chair in my new stand. Not something I want to be making a bunch of noise trying to do in the dark Saturday morning.

We are in the same boat brother. One of my guys scheduled a meeting at 3pm Friday and I let them know they are flying solo. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Drove through it last night right before dusk on the way to the ranch.  It was coming down in buckets.  6+" in the rain gauge when I got here last night.  The ground is as saturated as I've seen it here in years.  Any additional rain will do wonders for the Highland Lakes.

I was up yesterday and it was so wet that water was shooting out of the ground when I walked around. We got almost 6.5" out there. The trees needed it so badly.

  9. LCRA is projecting it to come up to between 631.5 - 632.5 by Sunday. A 5' rise would be amazing, but I need another 2"-4" of widespread rain in the watershed. That would really push that up. Fingers crossed this shifts southwest some:
