  1. Not gonna lie, I love the chicken at Goode co bbq. Until you and a few others showed up on the Houston bbq scene that was one of the better bbq items in this town. Don’t care for much else there, but that chicken is solid. The duck is too, but they never seem to have that anymore.
  2. Kinda, but not really. Salt lick bbq is a metric fuckton better than county line, and imnot saying salt lick is anything special. You can put the salt lick sauce on just about anything and it’s edible. County line just sucks ass all around.
  3. Much more current but damn I miss les baget on Montrose. I love les noodle too, and I know les baget is re-opening in the heights, but that’s just way too big a pain in the ass for me.
  4. That’s a damn good list right there.
  5. More people are murdered on a typical Chicago weekend than have been killed in the military too.
  6. The bastard cousin of rip van winkle. Fucking iPhone autocorrect. Good grief.
  7. This is laughable. No guns on schools is what we have now and produces a target rich environment. I’d propose as a minimum solution a “gun training” tax whereby a portion of some revenue is used to seen every teacher to gun training and have at least 30-50% of teachers at the school armed at all times. Would even be for a school defense fund to put trained, armed guards at schools during school hours. The last thing I would propose is making them less defended than they are now. The whole “assault” rifle ban idea is a fools errand, but for whatever reason people seem to think that’s going to be a solution. Something reds to be done, but it needs to be something rooted in common sense that has a chance to actually work. Making schools less defended, if that’s even possible, is not a reasonable nor viable solution.
  8. How does this shit stay in business. Unreal how horrid that bbq is and yet they have a line a mile long waiting to eat below average pot roast.
  9. I just scarfed down a hunk of that meatloaf with the horseradish mashed potatoes. If you haven’t been over to bucks yet, please kick yourself in the nuts. That meatloaf was special, but then champ was kind enough throw in a couple of pieces of brisket. I’ve had the brisket there a number of times now, and I’ve said bucks is top 3 for me in the city, and I can say this was the best brisket yet. I didn’t think that was possible to outdo what he’s been doing, but he has found a way. Little known secret is you can wash this deliciousness down with a few fingers of rip van winkle 12 year lot b for a totally reasonable price as well. Makes having to go to the tax office to pay taxes on a new car seem like not such a bad thing.
  10. Whole buncha people on the rag in this thread. Don’t see the big deal. Malik represented the school well while here. He had a pretty good freshman year, pretty bad soph year and a very good year last year. He was a key component of the defense getting much better last year, but wasn’t really missed in the bowl game. Wish him well and move on. I think he will develop and be a good pro, and hope he earns a big contract in 3-4 years. Always seemed like a great kid and easy to wish him success.
