  1. If you're looking for a sci-fi series to watch, all 4 seasons of Battlestar Galactica (the 2000's version, not the campy 70's original) were just recently added to Prime. Incredible show.

I laughed harder at several points during these 4 episodes than I have in several years.  I can't really remember the last thing I watched that was this funny.  Sad there wasn't more of them.  The Argentinian restaurant with the Jordan guy almost killed me and my wife.

Related note, I have watched this video at least a dozen times, and I still can't get through it without cracking up.

    Necro bump.

Newcomer to anime at almost 40. Before this past year, the closest I had ever come was the Castlevania series on Netflix. Have started off with what seem to be 3 of the all-time greats. Glad that I waited until now to start the following, as it would have been brutal to wait 2-3 years between seasons:

Have watched all episodes of Demon Slayer that have been released. Loved it. Wish there were 100 more episodes already released.

Caught up to all Jujutsu Kaisen episodes that have been released, with the exception of this past Thursday's. If Demon Slayer is ranked 1A, then JK is a very close 1B for me.

Just started Season 2 of Attack on Titan. Took a little get into, but got hooked after a few. Glad to see I have something like 60 more episodes remaining. Spoiled some of what's to come by reading character bios trying to remember everyone's name. Looks like it gets incredibly complex.

Nerd Alert. Anime thread being bumped.

Finally finished AOT earlier this month. Was watching 3-4 episodes a week during workouts. Took me several months to finish at that pace, but really enjoyed it.

Demon Slayer is finally back. First episode of new season dropped last night. Planning to watch this afternoon. New episodes coming out Sunday nights the next few weeks.

In the meantime, started a promising new series last week. Kaiju No. 8. Currently just 5 episodes available, releasing weekly.  Full first season won't be out until end of June.

100 walks by the starting rotation this year. By far the worst in the league. 25% more than 2nd most.

Just looked it up. We're among the worst in MLB in every important pitching stat.

    5.07 ERA (28/30)

    165 BB (28/30)

    1.49 WHIP (29/30)

    .260 BAA (25/30)

8 blown saves in 13 opportunities. Tied with Marlins for worst save percentage in MLB.

Yeah I'll let my employer go find the "hundreds" of potential employees that can come do my job better. Knock yourself out.

Haha. Post ended up going viral after someone posted it on Reddit. The next day the guy was like "Boy I really stepped in it. While my message was good, my delivery was clearly tone-deaf..."

All the replies to that post were basically "Jesus Christ, it's not the delivery, your message was dog shit, you pathetic corporate simp..."

  6. Been helping out on some Permian work again lately for the first time in a little while. Keep seeing leases that have these specific provisions where they can't be assigned to CHK, Endeavor, or any entity affiliated with Autry Stephens.

I've run across similar provisions several times in various leases over the years. Anyone know the exact story on that? Feels like it only ever applies to those specific companies

  7. Welp, as of lunch today, I've got a new unpaid, thankless side job. I'm now in charge of "managing" our deer lease. Met with the guy who's been the point man for our group the last few years, but he never has time to go out anymore, and has been wanting to pass the torch and implied he may drop out entirely.

No possible way this can backfire and end up being a pain in the ass!

Brother and I's new stand should be ready fairly soon, so first order of business will be heading out sometime in the next few weekends to drag it out there and hopefully we can convince a couple of the other guys to come out for a minor work weekend to do some brush clearing and beer drinking.

Just got this Citizen for $170. Couldnt pass it up. Changed out the brown leather strap for black rubber. For now anyway. 4cfa2c6690e91bbffa0a95b064944bdd.jpg.

Love it. I've been wearing a very similar Citizen almost every day for the last 2 1/2 years. I probably only wear my "fancy" dress watch probably 20-30 times a year when the outfit calls for it.

  9. Yesterday was the first truly gross Summer-like day here in Houston. High 80's, extremely humid, producing a "feels like" close to triple digits. Walking through my work garage yesterday morning brought back that old familiar feeling of "oh here we fucking go."

Close to 90 today, but much drier air arrived overnight and it's actually pretty pleasant. I'm gonna savor these last remaining tolerable weeks before it gets terrible.

Ok- I want everyone to ponder what happened in the third. It’s like a fucking baseball riddle that’s almost impossible to do.
a team gets a double, two singles, no Tootblans and no double plays and manages to score 0 runs- how does that happen?

    Leadoff 2B.

Infield dribbler for a single. Runner stays at 2B. 2 on, 0 Out.

Shallow fly out. No one advances. 2 on, 1 out.

Sharply hit single to shallow OF. Runner held at 3B. Bases loaded, 1 out.

K (swinging at what would have been ball 4).

    Fly out.

  11. Another entry in the "annoyances that develop as you get older" dept.

Had a great short trip out to Sonoma this past Thu-Sun. Just 3 nights spent living on Pacific Time has totally screwed up my sleep schedule the past 3 nights. I'm talking not even getting remotely sleepy until after midnight, waking up groggy damn near 8:00 in the morning feeling like I could instantly fall back asleep for 2 more hours.

I don't recall any kind of issues following a time change for longer than maybe 1 night as a younger man. At this age, feels like I need a full week or so to adjust every March and November for DST.
