Consumer sentiment at highest level in 3 years. Inflation expectations drop back below 3%
For the first time in 4 years, more people do not expect a recession than do.

S&P at 5250. 21st ATH of the year.

Haven't checked yet, do I still need to pay way too much money a month to have Fubo to watch Astros?

Good ol' neutral Elon at it again.
It's just so hard to nail down his political beliefs these days.

Mrs Mo is 9 months from retirement and I'm 1 1/2 years away. Our financial advisor recently said she is going to start slowly moving some of our money to things with more predictable returns, but probably less chance for higher returns. With everything at all time highs, it looks like the money gods have been kind to us.

Getting close to 40K. Major correction coming soon, would be my guess.
Bold and insightful.

FMOC kept expectations at 3 rate cuts in 2024. They also significantly raised their GDP forecast for 2024 (1.4%->2.1%) while only modestly raising their Core PCE forecast (2.4%->2.6%).
Stonks to the moon.

New ATH for the S&P today at 5178. DJIA (39,110) and Nasdaq (16,166) both back to within 0.5% of their previous ATH.

Cabbage and Hensley sent packing to minor league camp. Loperfido still hanging in there.

That the purported independence occurred in Trump’s 3rd year? I’m not sure that’s the message you want to convey to your CR buddies on the Dark Brandon thread.
Regardless, it’s a totally meaningless sign. One that signals we have a glut of gas that isn’t compatible with most of our country’s transportation energy needs. The graph doesn’t tell anything other than that. I would argue it’s a BAD sign that your champion’s energy department has that much gas in its borders, and puts policies in place that show it has zero idea had to administer that tremendous resource.
On the other hand, GOP folks keep crowing that we WERE energy independent under Trump (based on the same "net exporter" metric) but that Biden has crippled it. Trump lately has been dusting off the "we're gonna drill, baby, drill" line as one of the top priorities in his 2nd term. All of which is pretty fucking dumb given current production levels and import/export numbers.
By and large, people outside the industry, both on the left and right, have absolutely no idea what they are talking about when mixing politics and O&G.

Did it come with spandex, or do you have to buy your own?
Spandex, hair spray, men's makeup kit, and kilo of cocaine ordered separately.

Silly new guitar day for me yesterday. I now have a dedicated "80's shredder." Jackson DKAM (Transparent Red) delivered yesterday.
Been learning a bunch of cheesy 80's hair metal solos lately. Style of playing definitely calls for 24 frets and a double locking Floyd Rose. Maple fretboard plays quicker than the Pau Ferro on my PRS and the jumbo frets make for cleaner tapping.

Seems highly likely that today will mark the first close for WTI above $80 since early November. Currently up $1.50 to $81.25 this morning.

Looking for a new Astros hat for the season but coming up blank so far on what I want.
Does anyone make a navy hat like this with the 80's logo and a white or orange rope?

Never bothered me much as a younger man, but I've noticed the past 2 or 3 years that it takes me a solid week to get adjusted.
Sleep has been all kinds of fucked up the past 3 nights.

The 2 singles released from the upcoming new album by Gatecreeper are both bangers, IMO.

Rainfall projections for the weekend.

It a appears that a healthy amount of rainfall is on tap for the 2nd half of the month, kicking off with a persistently rainy weekend ahead.

Spring Break week at work when you don't have kids.
Traffic on the way in to work is lighter than usual. Can park just about anywhere you want in the office garage. Office is extremely quiet. Useless weekly meetings cancelled.

12 bips now. I saw the 275 number and worried and then saw no big deal and breathed a sigh of relief.
Solid jobs number in the February report, but wage growth was soft. U3 went up, but so did prime age population/employment ratio. Overheated January report revised down closer to initial expectations (both on jobs added and wage growth).
I would assume pretty much exactly what Fed was looking to see this month after the January surprise. Markets believe a June rate cut is more likely than it was at 7:29 this morning.

Prices gradually started to come down over the last few weeks, but are spiking crazy high again for Easter weekend. One place I keep an eye on went from like $4/lb on Monday to damn near $7 this coming weekend. Lot of places not even taking reservations.
