I’ll be that guy. I don’t believe that for a second.

Oh, but, see, he's in bankruptcy. And the bankruptcy court can force that liquidity.
My bold prediction: This judgment will be collected in full by the end of the year.
They probably won’t even have briefed the inevitable appeal at the court of appeals by then.- 1

Most plaintiff lawyers are cautious with economic damages. They can be an anchor on your case. Unless you have a lot of them, you may not want to present them at all. If the jury hears 20k in medical for instance, then the absolute most they are going to give you is 10x with pain and suffering. If you don't present the medical expenses, the jury tends to feel free to award higher amounts.
I don’t know that it’s “most” yet, but depending on the case this is correct. If the medical is 20K it absolutely makes sense. I’ve had cases where the medical is mid six figures and that’s the approach I’m taking at trial.- 1

Did you wrap at the time of your picture in the briskets are wrapped post above? Way too early IMO. That’s why you didn’t have the bark you were looking for.

You seem like you have some issues.

That seems like a job for a basic and local carpenter/handyman, rather than a big corporation.
This.
Had to replace our the doors to our backyard in 2020. We purchased the doors from the local door supplier our carpenter recommended. They did the rest for far far less than you’re being quoted.- 1

As the Director of Operations, Drew served as a liaison with the recruits insuring they were welcomed, logistics provided, met with their parents, etc and was well liked by current and former players. His departure completed the purge of former staff members seemingly a Pierce goal. Everyone was replaced including Vinny, the equipment manager. Don't know, all most likely at Pierce's behest. Departure did not really affect recruiting because to a large extent, Texas Baseball recruits itself.
Drew is at Five Tool Baseball in Keller. Five Tool is a Nation wide organizatiion that sponsors tournaments and showcases for players to showcase their talent in hopes of playing at the next level. As much as he loved Texas Baseball, not sure he would have voluntarily taken that job. That said, he is from the Metroplex and there may have been family obligations.
I thought Bishop left for family reasons. Wanted to be closer to family? -

I have never been blown away by Atchafalaya. It's good, but I don't think it was ever as good as Stanley. Brennan's is our favorite brunch place. The old school service is great and the food is always amazing.
Agree with this. -
Regarding Texas bourbons, I’m sticking to Still Austin Cask Strength for the foreseeable future.

The carrot yogurt was way better than I expected it to be when I had it.

Thanks for the invite.

Can’t wait to go back.

I’ve been a couple times for lunch since I don’t work far from there. Doesn’t exactly seem like a “date night” kind of spot.
-
As a public defender, that's par for the course. I've probably been asked 50 times in my career "how can you do what you do for a living" or some variation of "how do you sleep at night."
Honestly, I’m surprised it’s not more than that. -
Dammit. The obvious answer there is yes.
Is it? -
No, I am explaining the bankruptcy framework. It's a constant topic of misinformation and bad reporting whether it's personal bankruptcy or business bankruptcy.
Whether it ought to be the way it is a different question.
Save your indignation for the courtroom.
Go reread your initial post. You literally claimed in support of this process that there is a fairness problem for injured claimants in justification of it. Setting aside that incorrect assertion, it’s pretty clear you’ve already decided the “ought to be” issue and are merely pretending otherwise.- 1

I'm not defending Johnson and Johnson here. I'm just providing some perspective that is lacking in the article.
That’s exactly what you’re doing. You regularly comment on personal injury issues despite not actually practicing in the area. You’re providing excuses to support J&J being able to play games in order to sidestep liability and ultimately responsibility for their products. You’re providing excuses in favor of a bankruptcy framework which generally fucks over personal injury claimants who have been wronged. J&J didn’t do this to help or benefit those thousands of people who are bringing claims against the company. J&J did this to protect J&J.- 11

I’m not bill, but for me it’s the best Texas bourbon available and it’s not even close.

I was driving home tonight listening to James McMurtry’s live version of “Choctaw Bingo” at high volumes. If you ever needed a track to demonstrate the “sound” of a tube amp vs the “feel” of a tube amp, you could do a lot worse. You make a lot of things sound like a tube amp, but only a tube amp feels like one.
It also made me wonder if a “Songs that exhibit the Surly vibe” thread would be a good idea.
Got damn that’s a great song.
I also listened to Choctaw Bingo tonight. That’s all I got.- 1
