Unfortunately, with Texas likely returning Morgan, Kavan, Gutierrez and bringing in another righty in Salmon, it is hard to see how Simpson gets innings, as Mike is likely to focus on Salmon getting 30-50 innings and probably a transfer lefty getting the rest.  Her change-up is still so good but her command is not great (11 walks in 21.1 IP).

Salmon is likely to be within our top 3 rotation in 2026 when Mac graduates, so her development in 2025 is extremely important.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.... logic, I get it.

    She's my favorite to watch.

I still assume Simpson is going portaling with Cambria Salmon coming in. I could see her in sort of that Simpson/Czech role, and I’m assuming Mike will look for an experienced lefty in the portal.

Last I saw, Softball America has Cambria ranked top 5. We are only bringing in 2 freshmen I believe, considering the bulk of our roster are sophomores (Atwood, Goode, Martinez, Citlaly, Maloney RS SO) or freshmen (TK, Henry, Stewie). Mac, Joley and Mia will be the old ladies of the roster with Bella, Cap and Czech leaving.

    Don't leave Sophia!!!!

If Ewers gets hurt behind this experienced o-line then may god have mercy on his soul because he prolly won't be getting the job back. Like Joel Klatt said, we have the best o-line in the country. There should be no reason for Ewers to get hurt, unless he goes full dumbass and runs into another linebacker instead of sliding.

    Shit happens.

  5. Any Longhorn fan thinking about hosting is in a fucking dream world.

I think a realistic hope is to get a #2 seed NOT in one of the top 6 teams' regional.

What do we think the realistic ceiling is for Max Grubbs? Is he a weekend guy in the SEC? He doesn't miss a ton of bats, but he gets a lot of groundballs and has looked pretty good this year for a true sophomore who we didn't expect to be a weekend starter heading into the year.

The 3:1 SO:BB ratio is pretty damn nice. Don't love the OBA, hopefully it improves next year.  Looks like his WHIP is 1.34, which also needs serious improvement. Would love for him to take a solid step forward next year.

Now that the portal is closed, and it seems that the roster is pretty much set for 2024 save a potential grad transfer portal addition, here's how I am rating the position groups:

    Ratings:

    1. Liability/Unknown
    2. Some Holes / Struggle Often
    3. Average / Serviceable (UDFA talent)
    4. Good (Draftable Talent)
    5. Great/Elite (1-3 Round Draft Talent)

Ratings are two numbers: (floor / potential)

    Offense

QB: (4/5) - Quinn hopefully performs as a RD 1 QB; Arch Manning is ready

RB: (4/5) - Deep and talented RB room; will CJ Baxter or Jaydon Blue be one of best RBs by year-end?

WR: (4/5) - Plenty of talent and depth, just need to find the right mix

TE: (3.5/4) - Helm and Niblack are solid TE weapons (although for different roles)

OL: (4/5) - A lot of talent and depth. Williams is talented, but replacing a RT who got drafted won't be without some issues. How long will Conner start?

    Defense

DE (4/5) - Lots of talent and depth. Getting pressure from the edge should not be an issue this season

DT (3/4.5) - The Arizona transfers help set a solid floor; Collins is the real upside for this unit

LB (3.5/4.5) - Hill is special, Gbenda has experience, and Lefau and Gullete have talent

CB (3/4.5) - Muhammad is a stud, but a lot depends on the development of the true FR and what Cole from the portal can do at the P4 level

NB (3.5/4.5) - Barron and Guilbeau are solid NB options

S (3.5/4.5) - Please start Mukuba next to Williams. Freshman are talented, but unproven

    Special Teams

    K: (3/4) - Auburn is a known commodity

    P: (1/3) - A lot depends on Kern or a portal addition

Bert Auburn was 1st team All conference and honorable-mention AA, made 83% of his FG attempts and you give him a 4 for a ceiling?

Wtf is wrong with you, man?

This movies box office numbers are resparking the debate whether or not movie theaters are a dead concept.

When I go to my local theater, I do recall feeling an awkward sense of emptiness staff wise.  The entire outside booth ticketing areas are always empty and nonmanned.  One small electronic kiosk at entry, one ticket guy, and like 2 or 3 total concession employees I saw..

I was surprised how few staff for a huge theater it was.

If I didn't have kids I'd prob check this movie out with the wife but I'll likely wait for stream.

Not sure where you go, but the theaters I frequent are well-staffed and fairly busy.

Ticket booths are a dead concept because most people buy their tickets ahead of time online. Anyone buying tickets on site do so at the concession stand, often in a dedicated line. I would bet well under 20% of total ticket sales take place in person.

One of the OKST player’s mom has a line of creams and stuff she makes herself and Holly was highlighting some of them. One of them was a diaper rash cream and she and Mowins/Smith/Mendoza kept referring to it as “butt stuff” and she said “I never imagined doing butt stuff on TV” and “we might have to ask Coach Gajewaki about butt stuff”

    Very nice.
