I don’t even see how we don’t agree on this, but ok.

I went back and re-read your post, sober this time. And I do think we actually agree on the most part.

I think they could very easily dress that up as targeting an alliance and not a race.  It's their only chance to survive, so anyone who has a problem is just looking to start shit.  I'm hoping this year is a one off.  A chance to kind of make a statement.  If it turns into this every year, that's going to be worse than before.  Previously, we only had subtle racism in the show structure.  If this becomes the norm, then it really will become Big Brother: Race Battles.  That's going to be kind of uncomfortable to watch.  My hope is, starting with next season, the alliances will be more blended.  I get the point of it this season.  This show has treated black HGs pretty shitty and they're going to make a statement.  I like the idea and I think it was needed, but it isn't very entertaining TV.

Bullshit man. X said when they look at the remaining houseguests and realize they’re all black, “we did it!” If a white HG said that the world would have a come apart. I know your whole schtick is letting everyone know how liberal you are. But if you can’t see this and call it for the bullshit it is, you’re trying way too hard.

Everyone knows about it and cant do anything about it or they'll be cancelled outside of the house

Yep. I was called a racist earlier in this thread for calling it out. Imagine the shit the actual people in the house would go through if they confronted them.

it's pretty boring. the fact that nobody has picked up on the all-black alliance is a damning indictment on the cast.

I'll bet they've picked up on it, but are too scared to say anything about it in fear of being called racist.

Agreed - after stints in the army and various correctional facilities, that meager apartment with an ezboy recliner, color tv, and multiple pairs of white dress shoes was probably the height of opulence for an OG like Paulie.

Come on, man! It's a condo! Or else he would've had Sal Vitro take care of his lawn.

That was one of my favorite chapters of Freakonomics ... the one about the low-level drug dealers.

Tony's lifestyle did not make sense during round two ... at the beginning he's a capo, and not obvious he's the highest earner but got his stripes via his father and Uncle Jun ... but he has most of the accoutrements season 1 and season 6, and during one of the early (season 3?) raids he obviously has lots of cash stowed away in the vents and with the chlorine. It is an add juxtaposition his season 1 lifestyle vs. the other capos in later seasons (even Silvio as consigliere). Maybe that was just laziness on Chase's part, but Tony seemed to be living like a 5F Boss in S1.

Regarding Paulie, that never made sense. Given the Tony proforma, seems like taking care of his mom would not have been difficult given no kids, no wife. He's obviously not blowing it on $5K hookers and blow. Maybe a plot hole if we want to nit-pick. Even Johnny Sack's post-boss place seemed awfully modest compared to Tony's pad as capo.

I think he's just old school and cheap. Kinda like Junior still living in the same old shitty house. Remember him sitting and clipping coupons?

Also, he was more of a street guy and never got into the stock schemes and other higher level scams the family was involved in during their run.

Yeah and all the whining and shit.  I can't stand Azah.  I know you like Tiffany, but I am not a fan of her either.

At this point I really don't know who I like out of these people lol.  Skinny Derek and Kyland are probably who i would root for if I had to make a choice right now.

I like Xavier, Derek X, and Kyland. But not all that much. Any other season and they'd just be floaters. I also like Alyssa, but just for eye candy. She does nothing.

I've posted this before, but re Journey and the finale:

When he punches up "Don't Stop Believin'" on the little jukebox, the B-side is "Any Way You Want It."

That is inaccurate. Though it happens fairly often by mistake, bands did not try to put two hits on one single, for obvious reasons.

The real B-side to  "Don't Stop Believin'" was something you've probably never heard unless you are a Journey superfan -- a song called "Natural Thing."

You have to think an extremely-detailed guy like Chase would not get that wrong by mistake, so I believe "Any Way You Want It" tells us what exactly happened to Tony. If you wanted him to die, he died; if you wanted him to live, he lived. In addition to his attention to detail, Chase is also a big fan of ambiguity, to the point where he would end a shows like this in exactly that way.

I do know he was not a fan of those fans who wanted to see Tony whacked in front of his family.

Spot on. Listen to the Talking Sopranos pod and it'll back that up.

It was three straight POC two seasons ago.  We're you out then?  Why would you be out because of this?  Frenchie the white guy decided to boot the first white guy.  Frenchie was one of the biggest disaster at HOH is the history of the show and had to be evicted.  He was a fucking lunatic and would have made the game too unpredictable.  Brent is on the verge of sexually assaulting someone and his creepy behavior has all the women weirded out.  Just how would you have liked these first three weeks to go?

Not exactly what I was getting at. Just kind of expounding on what Nice Guy Eddie said. The noticeable effort on CBS's part to get more diverse, the "Cookout", an alliance based strictly on skin color, and the targets so far being all the white males and the white autistic girl. It's all part of an obvious concerted effort by CBS and Big Brother. But yes, Frenchie being a fucking moron didn't help his cause.

Okay, I'm having a brain fart. What was the name of Tony's twin brother that Spoons whacked?

    Huh?

Tony had Patsy's twin, Philly Spoons, whacked by Gigi.

Probably anchored by the long exposition I read but now pretty obvious Paulie put out the hit on Tony. That's been one of the joys of the re-watch is noticing Paulie's complexities.

You gonna link that article or what, Harry?
