    You would think when the murders and crap start hitting the tourist areas, the Mexican government will finally do something about it.

    The corruption is far too deep to really do anything about it and CDMX is far from QR, Guerrero, or Baja California where the tourist dollars are so crucial. The leaders in the capital care about tourism of course, but with limited anti-corruption efforts I think they prioritize the 20.4 million in the capital region over a few hundred thousand elsewhere. That'll leave it up to the individual states that have less power and even less willpower to fuck with the cartels individually. Hell the leading candidate to be the next president has platformed on forgiveness for those in the cartels and his cry was "Abrazos, no balazos".

    I will tell you one thing, no God I know is going to be determined (or not) from a Surly, Shaggy, or any other kind of board.  That would be the height of idiocy.

    I would (partially) disagree with this. There will obviously be some trolls that you should not take seriously in a thread like this one, but I find a place like Surly, Shaggy, and other message boards to be the perfect place to discuss faith based issues. In the real world you don't often have many frank discussions on religion with it being such a sensitive and uncomfortable topic. Here, though the level of anonymity give some people more flexibility to discuss issues and to actually disagree with one another without it becoming personal.

    Hasn't been bad for me driving in Cancun and down the coast to and in PdC, PA, Akumal, & Tulum. Where was it bad for you?

    CUN -> Puerto Juarez

    The usual for anything from Matamoros to Ushuaia with ignoring red lights, tailgating motorcycles at 100kph, etc...

    If anyone is curious about what the Antichrist actually looks like....he looks exactly like Robert Jeffress.

    He might be my least favorite person in a state that includes Dan Patrick.

    ...and of course Jeffress is a fellow Baylor grad.

    guys, its a rule of this thread that thermostats are not to be discussed.  its been scientifically proven that there has never been a woman who can figure those out.

    I'm happy mine doesn't even bother trying anymore. She tells me when she is cold or hot and I take it from there.

    San Marcos is damn near an extended suburb of Austin now. Thd build out in Buda and Kyle is huge. Heck going north the development extends PAST Georgetown and Liberty Hill not long before it is in Jarrel which already is in varying stages of development.

    At this rate it'll soon look like one city from Gainsville to San Antonio.

    BTW, their sports are D-3 -- no scholarships.

    So dropping sports would mean fewer kids paying tuition to come there.

    No way they drop sports.

    My sister plays basketball (no pics) in the ASC and that was the rumor that was going around. It could have been that they were leaving the ASC or something similar and she misheard.
