  1. I'm genuinely curious why people choose a diet (long term) that requires supplementation like Keto with electrolytes. Why is this considered the perfect diet according to many on this board if your body is saying that it needs more to properly function? I get it for losing a shit ton of pounds quickly and commend BearSchlong for his commitment and results, but I got the same results while eating ~100-150g of carbs a day. Anyone have any good peer reviewed sources for or against? I love nutrition and the arguments around it.

Not with one game per week... (I also like the idea of Mexico City & Toronto both getting an NFL team)...

I'm surprised Toronto isn't first in line. I know the Argonauts don't have the best attendance, but it's the CFL.

We're staying at a hostel in Roma. I'm a single dude just trying to see something new on the cheap.

Apparently the tacos and bars are right out the front door though so that's as convenient as can be for post-museum/site evenings.

Gotcha, we definitely plan on hitting up the bar scene in Roma Saturday night. I want to make some reservations at restaurants but at the same time...tacos man.

+ rep. I'm going that weekend too, Saturday - Tuesday. It'll be my first time but the buddy I'm going with has been a few times so he's letting me handle itinerary. Sounds like I gotta do the Anthro museum, really want to take a day for Teotihuacan too. Seems like it'll be busy as shit but I'm extremely excited.

Where are y'all staying at? We're going to be holed up at the Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico on the Zocalo.

  5. Looking for some advice. We are going with another couple who will get there Friday night and we will get there Saturday morning (supposed to land at 10AM). We leave late Monday and the other couple leaves for Cancun early Monday. I'm more of Condesa/Chapultepec and chill type but we have been instructed that we MUST do Teotihuacan by the other couple. I'm guessing our main option will be to do

    Chapultepec for Saturday afternoon

    La Condesa/Roma Saturday night

    Teotihuacan Sunday

    More La Condesa/Roma Sunday night

This will leave me and the lady in Mexico City on Monday with most the museums closed and looking for something to do until our flight at 6. Any suggestions?

Unless you’re in the wedding, don’t go. That’s pretty much my policy for any wedding. It has nothing to do with football season.

Agree with this and I don't even care for college football anymore.

Nobody is saying they "embody the international perception of the country", they dominate the country in every facet. And honestly, Paris is way less of a dominant force in France than London is in England. There really is no comparison anywhere else.

The only counterpoint, since we are in a travel subforum, is that as a tourist, it's less relevant, because one is just trying to see shit, and there is great stuff to see all over, and you can have fun anywhere, which negates the all encompassing oppression of London. But as a resident, and how the country is defined, London is England. Period. Which puts Manchester's panties in a wad, but that is another story entirely.

I mean, my family home still stands outside Darlington, close to Durham, I have more reason than anyone to decry people making things to London centric, but it is what it is. Sheffield, Leeds, Liverpool, all the historic nodes of England are fucking gone. Your only hope is Birmingham's resurgence takes flight if you want a multi-pole England. If you want to understand the country, you need to understand it's history (which I'm not sure a lot of people with strong opinions on this do), which leads to the present. But you have to understand the reality of now as well.

There's plenty of irrelevant parts to the U.S. too. Understanding modern Kansas has literally zero impact on understanding the modern U.S. Historically? Yes, super important. Now? Not so much. If you are a Kansan, you are basically irrelevant culturally, economically etc... I'm sure anyone from Kansas reading this is mad, and think I'm an ass or whatever, but it's the truth, and it's absolutely no reflection on a person's worth, just the cold reality of what drives modern countries. The difference in the U.S. to say the U.K. is we have New York, Washington D.C., L.A., Chicago etc... that keep balance so there is no mega-coalescing like you see in smaller countries.

You act as if Blackpool doesn't even exist.

The Josh Allen thread was moronic previously, and the Virginian appears to be digging in for additional blind, deaf worship here, too.

I can't imagine puking pages and pages of unyielding useless James Washington draft "news" on a UT board without being able to pause to acknowledge constructive criticism, but the Virginian is only talking to himself. I remember when this guy was a decent poster.

    Hey! Shut up.

Blessed be the Allen to you.

I’ll second that, and go see Shanghai Pierce’s grave while you’re at it.  My wife was born in Blessing and my late FIL was band director there for years, before he moved to Louise.  Also go to Canales Cafe in Tivoli.  3putt can vouch for that.

Man fuck Tidehaven, but yeah the Blessing Hotel is legit.

Just last night, I went to an old reliable snack -- four saltines, each topped with 1/4 of a slice of american cheese from a cellophane wrapper.  Unwrap, fold over, fold over again, breaks into 4 squares of saltine-topping perfection.

Or as a kid when grocery day was a day away and all you had left was a sleeve of crackers and 2 squares of cheese. It amazing how small you could make your cheese pieces.

You guys notice that Saltines (Original Premium) have changed recently?  It's like they're not as crispy and less salty. I had to start buying the Keebler Zesta's instead.

Ah the joy of being a kid and opening a package that is just a little bit burnt.
