Ok guys.  Thanks for all your help.  This was a project of mine.  Out of boredom I decided to take a class at the local JC. Needless to say,  I am many decades older than most of the class.  I'm 20 years older than the professor.  We got in a discussion the other day and I made the comment that regardless of any proven evidence about whatever the topic is,  if it goes against the woke/liberal/PC mindset,  the discussion won't last long before it gets ugly.  First emotion,  then name calling.  The important thing here is the time frame.  My rep went from 205 to 161 in a little more than an hour.  Not much name calling but a lot of middle finger.  Started to go to west mall but I saw this thread and decided why not.  Got the idea from  Raymond,  the episode where Robert gives the fake IQ test.  Anyway,  all is good.  Appreciate you guys. Hookem Horns.  Beat Wyoming.  And fuck baylor.  Enjoy the rest of your day.

Well, as a professor, this is horseshit.

*Note horseshit, in this context, is not an "ugly" or attacking word, merely a reflection of the accuracy of a statement.

And that’s fine. Referencing mundane shit “Kendall Briles didn’t say hi to me at a highschool camp 😩😩😩” 2 weeks in a row in post game pressers after solid wins is still fucking annoying. Am interested to see how long the streak goes though, can’t wait for Shedeur to say they beat Oregon because Bo Nixs mom didn’t say god bless you after he sneezed one time.

If they beat Oregon I don't care what Shedeur used to get himself hyped up. Besides, what type of bitch wouldn't say bless you.

That comment was a big fat nothing burger and anyone who got offended by it is a big fat pussy. Nice click bait though.

Again, do you just not follow sports at all? Coaches will always hype up any disrespect, no matter how slight, to motivate a team. You act like this surprises you.

The thing that irritates ISU fans so much is that most Northern Iowa fans (my in-laws are an exception as they're truly UNI fans above all else) are bigger Iowa fans than they are fans of their own school, so the whole Cy-Hawk thing seeps into the ISU/UNI dynamic.  ISU fans mock them for not really being fans of their own school, and UNI has kind of a reputation of being a suitcase school where everyone leaves town on the weekends to either go back to their home town (usually some small town in northern Iowa), or party in one of the other college towns.

So most UNI fans are bigger Iowa fans, and are way more obnoxious about their Iowa fandom than people who actually go to U of I.  UNI's coach openly talks down about ISU, and just showers Iowa with praise - even when they play them.  UNI has literally TRIED to lose to Iowa when they had them on the ropes, lest they give their beloved Hawkeyes a black eye, but they fucking live for beating ISU (even though it really doesn't make a shit in their ability to win the MVFC or play in the FCS playoffs).

I fucking hate playing those guys, and losing to them is the absolute worst.  Plus, it's historically a guarantee that ISU isn't going to a bowl game.

    Well that sounds like hell

My wife was a heptathlete at UNI and is a huge Panther fan, as is her whole family.  This game has been the bane of my existence for years.  We rarely shit can them, and it’s a true cause for celebration when we do.

When we were both at our respective (rival) grad schools, my wife's team was in the middle of the longest win streak in the rivalry's history. It sucked.

To compare this CU team to what was put on the field in 2022...well, you just can't.

Yes, you can. That's the whole fucking point. The most massive roster overhaul in modern fbs history, and this was the spotlight where we first got to see hints of whether it was a complete disaster or a success.

Someone said there was a Stanford professor who proclaimed himself a media expert, so that is a possibility (president said a professor told him they should be worth $50 million was the story).

Could be. Whoever it is I bet that professor has uh, lost a few friends.

When that $30 million ESPN deal was leaked, there was part of the story where an un-named University President killed the deal because he had worked with a professor at his university and came up with a $50 million per-team value.

Did it ever come out which university that was?

No, but there's been a lot of speculation it was ASU. Doubt we'll ever know.

well to be fair the PAC 12 deal was 100% streaming with Apple and Oregon and Washington said "no fucking way" and bolted once the Big 10 agreed to paying them each $31 million to start with a $1 million per year escalator for the life of the current deal

after that the 4 corners had a Big 12 offer and CU had already taken it, but the Apple deal was still there and the 9 were going to take it until Oregon and UW got the call

in addition there was a 4 partner deal with ESPN, Fox, CBS for a little bit of basketball, and Amazon for about $23 million, but Amazon backed out after CU left

once Oregon and UW were gone and the remaining 3 of the 4 corners saw they were fucked there was a call to the Big 12 and then Fox agreed to give a pro rata share of TV money for all 4 of the 4 corners and they were gone leaving the PAC 4

only ESPN was on the hook for their $20 million of the Big 12 TV deal for up to 4 "P5" schools Fox had not agreed to anyone being added for their $11.6 million share even just CU......but Fox agreed to cover that for all 4 of the 4 corners

so the PAC 12 $25 million from Apple fell apart because the Big 10 agreed to give Oregon and UW $31 million each with an annual bump

there was never really a chance to turn the Apple deal down.....though I would think that if the PAC 12 did not fuck around so long to find out if they could get a little more money from anywhere else they could have wrapped that Apple deal up a couple of weeks before Colorado left.....but I also imagine that Oregon and UW were slow rolling things, the ASU president was in love with his own voice, CU was getting old feet and working the Big 12 to not get a deal that made them look like a chump and Stanford and Cal were thinking they were worth a fuck to anyone and they would have a soft landing somewhere.....so they just pushed off Apple until the Big 10 made enough of a deal that Oregon and UW could accept being second class citizens in the Big 10 and jumped and CU had already seen what was up and jumped

Last fall the PAC had an offer from ESPN for $30 million each.

I don't think I've ever seen a school publicly discuss or acknowledge a no vote in conference realignment. I can't imagine UNC is that pissed about travel costs, gotta be something else they dislike about the conference. I always thought they'd be the anchor that keeps the ACC together, but seems they will probably leave when FSU and Clemson do as well, and NCST president realized that they'll be left behind and want the best possible ACC after the departures.

Perhaps that it will now be even harder to get enough "dissolve the conference" votes for them to ever get out for free.

So 2031 we should expect to see UNC, Clemson, FSU announce their intent to leave the conference?

I wouldn't be surprised if it's earlier than that.

On a less-important note, who does the AAC add to backfill SMU? UConn for football-only? Every other option is pretty vomit-inducing.

Do they need to? They've got several footholds in Texas, no one else is really worth it, they have plenty of members...
