  1. We're BACK!

    My season longs...

    Twins OVER 81.5 -145

    Cardinals UNDER 84.5 -115

    Brewers OVER 90.5 -125

    Mariners UNDER 84.5 -115

    Athletics OVER 67.5 +105

Opening day plays (as in previous years lay a unit on a dog, lay to win a unit on a favorite)...

    Houston +102

    Cleveland -120

  2. Texas for a bunch, but I got a PK last night.  There is enough VaTech money showing that you can wait and line shop it.  I'd play it at -1 or better, once it's higher than that it's still okay but for lower.

    Well, he's no Monte Montgomery.

Timely, because he tried to move in on my date at Hanover’s circa 2001 or so. Also didn’t work, and I’m still married to that hag. I mean date.

  4. The Black Eyed Peas first two albums were really good, kinda A Tribe Called Quest or Jurassic 5 vibe.  That doesn't really sell or get airplay, so they added Fergie and immediately started sucking.

I doubt they would trade their big pile of cash for me to have a few more records I enjoyed, though.

Maybe.  But the post I was responding to was about to get third shot for kids in a 6 month period.  And that shot is looking like it may only last 3 months...

1 shot every 6 months doesn't seem that crazy of a future prediction.

I, maybe incorrectly, am assuming that the first 2 shots wear off just as fast (6 months) in kids as they do in adults.  If that's the case, the booster only makes sense if that's the route you choose.

I’d also do the regular vax cycle and hang tight…which is easy enough as we’ll know a shitload more about Omicron before they’d even be eligible for a booster and that can inform further movement.

*I have two 12-17s that are vaxxed but am not rushing to boost them

Abbey is insufferable. Rest of the cast seem like a mix of coddled naive children and normal people.

No one who is clearly successful, Bruce would have been that success story but he fucking bailed as soon as he got the job he wanted which was super strange.

I’d imagine he was out when he found out what you make to man the Home Run Dugout at Express games.

watched the first two episodes again tonight with my mom and one of my best friends, and yeah, we all love the show. something that i really like about the show is that the producers/casting clearly made a choice to *not* go find those toxic people who permeate so many reality shows. i find all of these people to very likable and easy to root for- even Abbey with her crazy ass. i know i referred to this show as reality trash tv, but i find it to be a feel good show. the producers/casting didn't go for the insane, toxic people who usually make up 1/4 of the cast of any reality show. these people are all pretty genuine and there for each other. i like that.

I started watching it last night, and this is my exact takeaway. Like Real World except without the terrible people…I actually like all of them.

Thinking about getting the Sony 65” a80j

Is the extra cost worth it for oled? Sounds like it is

In a bright room, the x90j gets you 90% of the way there for ~half the price.  Your mileage may vary, but I have the a80j in my theater room (well worth it)...I'm not sure it'd be worth it in any other rooms (in my house) where lighting is less controlled and I sit further from the screen.

Does Kenpom phase out whatever he uses to form his pre-season projections and, if so, when does that occur?

If I remember correctly he uses a metric to determine when the season stats are meaningful, but I don't think it's game count or calendar time.  I think they are season-only by roughly the start of Big 12 play.

Good question.  I have no idea how one would be able to place a numerical ranking on a team with so much turnover + transfers.

He's historically been pretty good at merging graduating seniors/incoming freshmen with returning cores, but it's a much harder problem in this transfer market.  I don't know that there is a truly objective way to plug a guy you have historical stats on into a different roster and projecting anything of value.
