I kind of weirdly like trains, as some of you have noticed from my occasional spats with @Spankytoes on various European travel.
Have you seen the movie Railway Man? Thoroughly enjoyed it, though given your depth of knowledge on the subject matter, it may have been too dramatized.

I was at the Miss St game the week Jackie castrated a bull at midfield, but this is too much. That's fucking brutal. No excuse for that. They knew exactly what they were doing. This is no prank to pimp the FH frat. Someone knew exactly what they were doing and when/why they were doing it the night before Texas game. Branding a steer, castrating one, I get it, but outright slaughter of an animal left for public viewing is outrageous.

SEC setting it up so Ala can end any streaks UGA still has going by then despite the fact that we played in Tusca in 2020. Also get Texas in Austin the same weekend as that F1 stuff, so we can’t travel like we normally do.
A bama guy is in control of scheduling, so we expect nothing less. Mark Womack, 1982 Bama grad who helped engineer the perfectly laid out schedules during the Saban years since he took over in 2011.
Not so sure about that. A couple years ago half of their opponents had bye/no games the week prior to playing Bama. The only two Bama had no game the prior week was game 1 and LSU

Average temps look to be low of 7 with high of 14. That’s very cold but not prohibitive.
Was it windy there? Wind combined with those temps would be difficult to withstand.
7-14 degrees is doable...the gear 25 years ago was not as good as now, that's probably what got him

Any updates for us working class

Trill Carter has been a solid contributor. Would love to see him come back and line up next to Broughton. He may start.

Part of me thinks this is going to be the game where we put it all together.
- Clinch a spot in the Big 12 championship
- Keep CFP hopes alive and a statement game against a common opponent with Oregon
- Senior Night
- Last Big 12 regular season game for Texas ever
- Revenge for 2022 game against Tech and Yormark's remarks earlier in the year
- Chance to finish regular season 11-1
Texas is going to romp by 3 TDs.
Id love for this to be Mizzou '09-ish? all over again. IIRC gameday was in town, top 5 opponent in DKR and it was something like 28-0 at end of Q1. Would love to see that type game.

Pretty sure Bean isn’t who he was referring to.
Ballard was the KU QB when they played Tech. Neal ran for 140, but Ballard was a pedestrian 9/20 for 124 yards.

You're staying exactly where I stayed the very first time I went skiing in 2008. Wife's family are huge ski nerds and that is how they've done it since the 80's. Trail's End Condominiums is where I believe we stayed looking at it on Apple Maps. This will be our last year in Red River as the kids should progress enough that we can graduate on up to CO and that's where we'll be.Yeah it looks like a nice complex..we got one of the 3 bedroom units with 4 beds so everyone in the family has their own space and bathroom too. Looks walkable to town, but we'll have to get dropped off at the lift....will be nice to ski home though each afternoon

I'm still confused about the basement thing. Is that footage taken by Russians of their own fuckup?
Yes, based on the english translation accompanying the video, the RU is triaging the situation and trying to save who they can, while also questioning wtf happened, nothing super intelligle , but you can tell they are shell shocked and there are soldiers from different units, so they dont all know each other. Thats what i could infer.

Blue is going to show out Saturday night. He's got an incredible opportunity to take the RB position by storm this closing stretch. He reminds me of Selvin Young; runs low to the ground, absorbs contact well, bounces it when needed, great instincts. CANNOT WAIT to see this young bull run hard and for Tashard Choice to be rewarded for keeping his head in the game during this long season

Also, there's a thread on this in Hobbies. FYI

Didnt realize this thread existed, been looking for it on Travel board.
After 5 years at Park City and DV, taking my clan to Breckenridge. Staying at the base of lowest 4 O'clock run. SKi in. We have been to Vail, Keystone, Steamboat and Purgatory (not sure if its Duango or if its back to Purg.) , so just curious about anyone's opinion of Breck, tips, do's or dont's

Heading to Breckenridge Week between Christmas and New Years. Wife wants to try CO after many years in Park City and DV. Any hacks for a first timer to Breck? We’ve skied all over CO, just never Breckenridge
We’re staying in a condo off lowest 4 O’clock run.
Dinner reservations so far at Hearthstone and Blue River Bistro.

Watched Beckham doc and as an American non soccer fan, I had no idea that he was hated by pretty much the whole country after getting booted out of the world cup final.
I'm trying to think of anything in America even remotely close to the vitriol over something that purely happened on the playing field (ie not sandusky stuff) and am coming up blank. Take Gideon in 2008 and multiply it by 100.
Tldr-limeys really, really care about soccer and make the most ardent college football fans appear sane.

He was special in limited snaps. Prior to last year he was averaging over 6.7 per carry and 15 per catch.
Baxter looks slow and easy to tackle to me. He does not break tackles or maximize runs.
Blue -- I have not seen enough of yet.
I think that has more to do with him being 18 and playing against grown ass men for the first time in his career. A little different at this level and it takes some time.

I am underwhelmed with the RB room after Brooks. I think we need to get someone in portal. Brooks and Red look like JAGs to me. Maybe Blue can be something.
Feel the same about or TEs after JT
You think Brooks is JAG? Dude you are drunk on the voodoo juice

This whole forced conscription, disproportionate effects on minorities, drug and discipline issues just reeks of the late 60s/early 70s US Army in Vietnam. Grab a bunch of folks off the street to go to die in a war that they don't understand or believe in. Act surprised the they self-medicate/check-out when they get there. I'm predicting a Russian Dien Bien Phu. Sevastopol would be a prime location, but Mariupol may work too. Full on troglodyte communities of guys who have just said, "Not my monkey, not my football, not fighting anymore." Hell, why not both?
Rocky Bleier isn't walking through that door for the Rooskies. Not the same, not even close.

Baxter, Blue and K-Rob. Time for the guys to step up. Im glad Blue didnt go through with transferring. He is the fastest of the trio, need to get him in space. Would like to see what he does in the screen game. Baxter seems to dance to the line a bit, but i know he's young. We're going to need him to carry the load between the tackles.

Do you have a link to where he said that? Insane if true.
Let me see if i can find the link to the radio show. it was on the sunday morning CFB show with Tom Luginbill (sp)
edit: adding show schedule, re-air at 6pm central this evening, Luicci came on at top of the hour iirc, if you have XM

Update?
Paraphrasing , he said big cigars not involved in buyout, 100% admin driven. Big cigars are tapped out after all the expansion expenses. He expects the donors to pony up for baseball field so this one is on the school. Feels like the sucking of the football program is due to uncertainty /turnover at the AD and president level. Said losing Ad to lsu was a big loss for jumbo. Compared stoops , saban (at lsu) and Mack to the Bermuda Triangle that ultimately doomed RC, felt like they were getting passed up. Didn’t want that to happen again. More or less what he said. Also said a lot of nothing , he’s a dork.
