Nice to see the lake levels rising in MayCan't say we've had enough rain to scale back the drought response. I mean, we're not nearly out of it... not even close.

I heard some of Jeff's show in the car today. He was opining on how SXSW is no longer about music but it's just a tech trade show. "All the condo owners made the clubs turn down the volume. Rock 'n roll is dead, anyway.".
That's odd, I was on Red River last Saturday and 3 clubs (Mohawk, Stubbs, Cheer Up Charlies) had extremely loud hard rock bands on the outdoor stages. One could throw a rock and hit The Beverly apts/condos from each club.
Basically, Jeff is full of shit, as always.
I really really really can't stand the old complainers constantly whine that music is dead in Austin. Maybe music is dead when you're 70 and sitting at home watching Wheel of Fortune but it's not dead in Austin.

went to big dumb fest on saturday at the mohawk, was pretty awesome that rickshaw billies was able to put together a festival that sold out the place. great energy from the crowd all night long. rickshaw is so damned good, it was loud as shit and extremely sweaty on the floor.
Was thinking of going but while I appreciate loud and high energy, I wasn't sure if Rickshaw was going to be my thing. Sounded like a cool show.

Care to elaborate a bit? I don’t understand any system that requires moving 800 people because of a potential thunderstorm. I could understand a tornado warning, but every time it rains?!?

But for real, this looks great for the 7 day estimates. I mean, take it as long as we can before the furnace turns on...

Uhm, do they not remember how many fervent Trump supporters acted towards Chinese Americans during the early days of Covid? Strange bedfellows indeed...

Yeah man, this sounds good to me.
Ran by C-Boys Sunday night to grab some live music. Such a great place.
Thievery Corporation tomorrow - can't wait.
Friend of ours is hosting a record release at Continental Club on the 7th.

We had a Subaru that we put almost 160,000 miles on, never had to have it towed. Our Toyota minivan has nearly 100,000 miles on it, never had to have it towed. Having a new vehicle towed every 500 miles or so seems slightly excessive., but that’s just my anti-Tesla bias creeping in.
I have an Alfa Romeo and it's never been towed. That should tell you something.

Sorry not sorry Bologna.
Motta has agreed to replace Massimiliano Allegri at Juventus when his contract at Bologna ends at the end of June. The Italian coach has been deservedly heralded for his tactical acumen in leading Bologna to Champions League qualification this season and was lauded as a hero. After his final game on Friday night, Motta could not hide his sadness at leaving the club.
BUT I love Bologna and when there we always stop by my old school, go by where I lived and some other favorite places. Getting dusty in here.

One thing I forgot about before our trip was scheduled: The Euro soccer tournament will be going on. Will game times affect if restaurants/shops/etc will be closed etc? Either way, can't wait to watch some matches with the locals.
No... if anything, find a place that will be showing matches. Our trips to Italy often coincide with the Euros or the WC. The Euro trips have been fun lately. The WC trips? Not so much. If you are in Rome during any Italy matches, they might show them in Piazza del Popolo. Check with your local hotel.
