    Heights Theatre - Tood Snider

Saw him in Gruene Hall... great show.

    Allllllright...

So, get me excited.  I was gifted tickets for Dave Matthews at the Moody Center.  I don't want to seem ungrateful but I am just not excited.  I "like" maybe 4-5 songs... so why should I enjoy this show?  (and no you can't have my tickets)

  2. Welp, I'm just looking forward to a bunch of live music and to hearing a) bands I know and b) bands I don't know.  We're going weekend one for a mix of reasons which bums me out because I wanted to catch Wet Leg and Phonix but maybe I can swap with someone.  Looking forward to Kevin Morby.

Here's what's cool though... you pull up Spotify and plug in every unfamiliar band on that list and see what you find.  That's how I first heard Goth Babe (playing again this year) and Chet Faker (didn't see him on the list).  You can find new bands and then you can appreciate more of what ACL is about.  It's not all about big names.   Case in point, Glove seems to appeal to my dark wave sensibilities.

The people snowboarding are intermediate skill level, so I'm not sure they are ready for heli skiing yet.

Only one way to find out.

Correct me if I'm wrong but there are different heli trips based on ability.  I have some friends who went heli skiing in Canada who are intermediate/advanced and they did it.  They know where to take you.

  4. House in our hood just went up for sale... not sure how many offers it got in the first 3 days but it is already under contract.  It listed at give/take our new valuation and I know for a fact that a $150K OVER offer was turned down.  So, yeah, about protesting...

Nah. I've spent time in both. BS is a total shit hole. There may be one good place to eat and there is absolutely nothing to do. The only thing worth seeing is the Hotel Settles. There is no place in BS that looks good. Angelo has a few things to see/do and they have several good places to eat. And aggy related, it's one of the biggest sheep/wool producing areas in the US.

I suspect we drove through a really bad part of San Angelo... crappy weather and methy environment so Big Spring felt like an upgrade

My grandparents lived in Big Spring for the majority of their lives. Taco Villa and the muni golf course were the lone bright spots in that town, and the golf course sucked.

After driving through San Angelo, Big Spring looked like an upgrade

I skied there Sunday. It was pretty fuckin icy. I slipped out twice on some corduroy that I thought was groomed but was really just ribbed ice 😂. Didn’t help that I had brought my rock board which hasn’t been tuned in about 3 years.

Was talking to a client yesterday who told me he was there last week... sounds like you have to time it well for when it softens up.

Looking at the webcam today... its snowing at A-Basin with 2" overnight but its flat out puking snow at Winter Park.  Got 8" overnight and snow cam sitting at 10"

Just curious what people are doing as a backup plan if you are overseas and test positive on the way home?  I know several people from overseas that were in town for a conference and tested positive as they tried to depart so they are sitting in a hotel room waiting for a negative test before returning.  Not a big deal as their companies are covering their expenses...

But what happens if you are overseas with family on your own dime?  Is there insurance you can purchase before to cover costs for the time you need to spend in quarantine?  Do the travel coverage offered by card like Chase Sapphire provide coverage?  I've heard of some resorts offering "discounts" if you need to extend your stay but I don't see that happening if you are booking a place on VRBO...  And for flights, i guess you get stuck on standby status until seats become available?

and do you have to stay in specific hotels or can you rent apartments or whatever?

But sir, this is the internet and that was posted on reddit!  People would not make up such stories or allude to such things on such a respected platform unless they were true!

I am shocked I tell you, absolutely shocked!

(I'm not saying that such things don't happen, but if a woman had been kidnapped and held in a homeless camp for two weeks, KXAN.com would have it as a front-page story for the next two months)

and there would be all kinds of political groups yapping about it and using it for political fundraising.
