  1. I’m gonna need you to show your work if you want full credit.
  2. It forced people to play small ball and slappers were more prominent in those days. Used to be “get em on, get em over, get em in” Now every coaches like Earl Weaver and waits for the 3 run HR.
  3. Softball is no different than baseball. As recently as 10 years ago low 90’s was a good fastball. Now every team has at least one guy who can touch 100. Imagine facing Michelle Smith or Monica Abbott from 40 feet, when they were touching 73 MPH. They don’t need to love the mound back, they need to move the fences back to 230’ minimum. That will stop the half swing HR that have become so common.
  4. If we win game 1, our second round will be a tough one. We either see our Kryptonite in OU or we get Pickens who made us look like a 12U rec team earlier this year. Is it wrong to hope for a tornado that scoops up both of those teams?
  5. With our pitching, we need things to fall our way. Going through a 7 inning 1-0 game vs Tech is the kind of stress TK don’t need right now. I believe Rothrock is gettable and we have shown we can shut down the Glorida bats.
  6. Trailerhasse over Gainesville is a choice I guess.
  7. Danielle Lawry had a similar run for Washington. She threw every pitch of every game for them.
  8. That’s the same thing a condom signifies for me. What a coincidence
  9. My daughter was a 4 time all conference catcher at the D1 level. We worked on framing with tennis or wiffle balls with no glove. Good framing is done with small hand or wrist movement. There is no need to slide the glove 6-8” every time. Only frame the close pitches and set up with your mitt in the center of your body. If the pitcher can hit the target and the catcher is quiet with subtle movement you will get more strikes
  10. Give me Nebraska UCLA Florida Arkansas
  11. Reese is not helpful when the ump has a small zone. She moves entirely too much when framing pitches. Small subtle movement and mitt position makes a huge difference
  12. Just when I thought Mac Morgan was done, she goes and does that and TOTALLY redeems herself.
  13. This WCWS has a chance to be an Oklahoma reunion. Gasso, Lombardi, Bahl, Erickson….
  14. That’s a lot of paint.
  15. And we will see Pickens vs Bahl for the 3rd consecutive game. I’m cheering for corn simply because I want to see Bahl vs the OU lineup
  16. I don’t get it either, but the lady Vols have always had baby blue in their unis
  17. OU softball 2036 - Sick of being First place
  18. For sure they are all available and we may, in fact, use them all. I am just over Mac Morgan this season. I do think she can be used for a short stint, providing the umpire is calling a low zone.
  19. If Mike starts Mac, we may not see TK until next season. Mac’s role on this team should be to walk around in front of home plate before the game so the dirt is nice and packed up for our slappers.
  20. Agreed, she is a great athlete. True 5 tool player in the circle. 1. shut down ace 2. fields her position 3 runs well 4. hits for avg 5. hits for power a true throwback. No one else like her in the game today
  21. That’s what you do with an Ace in softball. Kavan is really good, but she is a notch below Canady and Bahl
  22. She has only been at SS for the last dozen games.
  23. The other question I have is…. how bad is a Brister at 2B and the plate? Seems like Katie to DP and Brister to 2B w/ Goode at SS solves all the issues. If you don’t want Brister and Bennet in the lineup the put Quieroga in LF.
  24. Katie needs to DP for a game or two and get her head right. If her defensive miscues affect her hitting we are completely fucked. I am guessing we see something different tonight….if not then it’s just coach White trying to show us all how smart he is.
