  1. Basically the bill zeros out the transfer and making taxes for suppressors as well as removing them from the definition of a firearm under the NFA, which is part of the tax code. The GCA of 1968 still lists suppressors and suppressor parts in its definition of firearms, which is in a different section of the Code of Federal Regulations. So suppressors and suppressor parts would still require a 4473.

But since this is a reconciliation bill, Senators can challenge provisions that they don't think are related to the revenue under the Byrd Rule. If the Senate Parliamentarian determines they don't qualify, it takes 60 votes to overrule. Lowering the tax to zero should qualify, but removing them from the definition of a firearm in the NFA may not survive. It does have a chance, however, since the NFA registry is the mechanism for collecting the tax, and the methods by which taxes are collected can be modified within running afoul of the Byrd Rule.

I used to reload .38s for my Son for Cowboy action shooting.  The .38/.357 platform is so manageable to the specs that you want is amazing.  I’d have to adjust the overall length of the rounds of his .357 lever action or it would jam up if the rounds were too short (lighter pistol rounds).  After a couple shooting sessions I understood that the .38s needed to be the length of a standard.357.

I still have hundreds of “pistol only” .38 special for target/Cowboy shooting.

1873 or other similar toggle link action?

So I've seen Season 1 six or seven times and Season 2 three times now.  Would it be weird if I started another re-watch already?  I may need help.

    Clone Wars and Rebels?

  4. None on SBR's. It should be noted that the NFA is part of the tax code,  so removing suppressors from it can be done under reconciliation. The definition of a firearm under the GCA is not part of the tax code and still includes suppressors as firearms. That can't be changed under reconciliation.

  5. For your next lever gun, you should look at an 1873 or one of its clones. That toggle link action is the smoothest action ever made for a lever gun, but unfortunately it's not strong enough for the larger calibers and it is a bit picky on overall length.

  7. The House's reconciliation budget bill has a provision to lower the transfer fee for suppressors to $0. Unfortunately, it only applies to transfers and not form1's. Since it is in the reconciliation bill, it only needs a simple majority to pass the Senate.

So if I buy my homestead for $500K and via appreciation it becomes worth $1.2 million. I cannot then sell the place for $1.2 million, buy a new homestead for $700K million and pocket the $500K exclusion?

I thought as long as you put the rest of the gain back into your homestead, you could defer tax on that gain?

Where are you trying to buy a house that costs $700k million?
