That is such a load of horseshit, but typical ctj. I always hated Greg Davis and naively thought he was the problem. A coordinator or two later, I realized that Mack was equally at fault if not more so. I wanted Muschamp over Mack (not sure how well that would have worked). I did predict that it was unlikely that Mack’s replacement would recruit as well. You were always a “Texas recruits itself” simpleton.
What I have done multiple times is point out that you are a pompous buffoon that always recreates history in a self-aggrandizing way. Such a fragile ego you have, lol.
If I know I am visiting both schools, I would damn sure want to visit College Station when there was something exciting going on. Because it sucks otherwise. And if he is bought and paid for, then it doesn’t matter where he visits when. I think we land him.
Graduates from both schools have opportunities nationwide to be sure, but between the two, Texas is more of a regional school. So you miss the point if you make this an Austin vs SF debate.
Recruiting was Mack’s strength, but he imposed self barriers that Herman simply does not. He rarely recruited Jucos even when there were gaping holes and Stoops was cleaning up on them. He wouldn’t recruit players that had committed to another school until very late in his tenure. He wouldn’t battle for top OOS players for fear that it would hurt his offer to commit ratio. And any out-of-state player had to basically self-recruit themselves and show up to get an offer. Williams winning a heisman was wasted in Ca.
I worry that we will always struggle for RBs and DL with the current coaching staff, but so did Brown. Giles always is gunna Giles. But I like Herman’s chances.
