  1. Rodeo finals in town and entertainment (Las Vegas Sun): Sure, country music is the name of the game this weekend in Las Vegas as the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo has returned to the Thomas & Mack Center and dozens of top acts are back in casino theaters and showrooms. But there’s plenty of pop favorites, holiday sounds, rock and roll and even comedy spread around the Vegas landscape this weekend, and that stuff deserves equal attention. CARRIE UNDERWOOD The country superstar opened Resorts World Theatre Wednesday night with her brand-new residency show “Reflection” and welcomed the National Finals Rodeo back to Las Vegas in the biggest way possible. The glammed-up, greatest hits-laced production returns with performances on the Strip’s newest stage Friday and Saturday, as well as December 8, 10 and 11. December 3-4, rwlasvegas.com. BARRY MANILOW “A Very Barry Christmas” is happening this weekend only at the Westgate International Theater. Manilow’s holiday production has toured the country in years past and temporarily replaces his smash residency show for this special time of year so catch it while you can. December 3-4, westgateresorts.com. GEORGE STRAIT No matter what’s going on, the “Strait to Vegas” concert series at T-Mobile Arena is always one of the biggest and hottest tickets in town. This week the King of Country is bringing Caitlyn Smith as his opening act. December 3-4, t-mobilearena.com. LAS VEGAS PHILHARMONIC VERY VEGAS HOLIDAY This special holiday celebration features performers from the Composers Showcase (Keith Thompson, Travis Cloer, Vita Corimbi, Ellie Smith, Eric Jordan Young, Michelle Johnson and more) performing Christmastime classics backed by the city’s amazing symphony orchestra. Tickets are still available for 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. performances Saturday at the Smith Center’s Reynolds Hall. December 4, thesmithcenter.com. FOO FIGHTERS If you didn’t catch this beloved rock band’s first set at Dolby Live at Park MGM Thursday night, you’ve got one more chance Saturday night to experience “Best of You,” “Everlong,” “My Hero,” “Learn to Fly” and the rest of the Foos’ celebrated catalog. December 4, parkmgm.mgmresorts.com. SHANIA TWAIN The country pop legend’s second Vegas residency “Let’s Go!” had just opened when the pandemic paused entertainment, and you better believe Shania can’t wait to get back onstage at Zappos Theater to pick up right where she left off — with one of the most fun musical parties on the Strip. December 4-5, caesars.com. LIT AF TOUR The one and only Martin Lawrence anchors this postponed comedy tour, set for a stop at Mandalay Bay’s Michelob Ultra Arena and featuring DeRay Davis, Ricky Smiley, Michael Blackson and Benji Brown. Be prepared for nonstop laughs if you hit this Strip sensation Saturday night. December 4, mandalaybay.mgmresorts.com.
  2. I didn’t mention any steak places since you are already doing that one night. Outside of Asian and Italian, would recommend Milos which just moved from Cosmo to Venetian and thought of as the best seafood place on the Strip by many people.
  3. Ok. So starting with very casual and right there in the Venetian, I would look at Noodle Asia if you like that food type. I eat there just about every Vegas trip. Can sit next to the window and watch games as the sports book in right there next to it. In the same food group but more fancy, Tao is solid and been there forever. If you want to walk to nearby casinos, can look at anything at Caesars or Wynn. Bobby Flay new place called Amalfi is excellent but a little pricey. Not a bad walk over to Cromwell for Giada. Great Strip view and always enjoy the food there. If you have certain questions post them here and I’m sure someone can respond.
  4. Yep Uber/Lyft should be fine. Have to walk across from baggage claim to the parking garage to catch a ride but it’s pretty easy.
  5. Video of Bryson hitting balls off the top of the Wynn
  6. And that’s a wrap . . . What a season.
  7. Q: open to a HS recruit or a transfer to win the starting job next season at QB? A: potentially yes
  8. Asked about immediate off-season fixes: We have to find a way to generate a better pass rush. We have to improve depth on the OL. We have to get healthy.
  9. Asked about Brian Jones comments A: I wish Brian had reached out to me. No donor has suggested to me what to do. It’s disappointing what he said.
  10. We are trying to become a team with a harder edge and we need to raise our football IQ (when the team reassembles again in January)
  11. We had a really good team meeting last night
  12. Both QBs are day to day. Today, Casey would start the game.
  13. on LHN, Austin radio, and here: https://texassports.com/watch/?Live=441&type=Live What is left to say?
  14. Father/son tournament in Orlando coming up in mid-Dec and it would seems really ambitious for him to play in that already but who knows
  15. The fun part of messageboarding is the abrupt swings between Dumpster Fire and Show Me a Loss! Feels like it’s gonna be a few mins or years until we get back to Show Me a Loss. Call me crazy.
