This is what you voted for. He fucking told us this was what he was going to do.

If you didn't want this but voted for it anyway, you were clearly not paying attention during the campaign or you were flat-out conned.

Your responsibility now is to make amends and go help out the people you hurt with that vote.

    I'll probably get deported

  2. Had a conversation with a friend yesterday.  She is a PT at the VA.  I said yeah. I voted for Trump and I really didn't expect shit to get this crazy.  I am sick to my stomach when I see all the crazy shit happening.  I dont disagree with certain things but the way it is happening is absolutely insane.

Wait....wtf?  It crashed on land.  The wreckage is relatively intact.  How are 7 of the 10 "missing?"  They just walk off into the tundra or some shit?

Yeah.  I don't know.  I was watching the CBS evening news when it came up.

Chose this thread because the story of a Cessna going missing, over Alaska with ten people aboard, is likely to be a shitshow in the media.

Edited to say apparently the plane was in a holding pattern while the runway was being cleared when it fell off the radar.

    ”CNN —

A Cessna plane with 10 people on board has gone missing during a flight in Alaska, according to local and state officials.

The plane, operated by Bering Air, was en route from Unalakleet to Nome, both cities in western Alaska separated by the Norton Sound inlet, according to the Alaska State Troopers.”

They found the plane.  3 inside confirmed dead.  The 7 others are still missing

also, iirc a chief warrant officer rank is for someone that trains others in their job

Nah, most helicopter pilots are Chief Warrant officers.  It's the army way to get around the rule of having to have a degree to fly a helicopter.

Meta just turned in another monster quarter.

Ad impressions up. Ad pricing growth up by double digits. Op margins nearly 50% and free cash flow smashed wall street expectations. Zuck is commanding that enterprise like the Spartan army.

You would think that would reflect on our bonus multiple but we was wrong

not sure what you mean but if you mean rely on gravity that won't work, you need pressure. not even a pump will suffice, you need a pump and a pressure tank plus the storage.  we have up to 60,000 gallons of rain water collection capacity and have the pump, pressure tank and filters for the house. we considered a fire hose attachment to the exterior of the house but without a significant amount of pressure it's worthless for fighting a fire unless it's a small fire and a garden hose (1/2 - 3/4 inch diameter hose) connected to the house system is sufficient.

Build a very very very tall tank

Yes, CEOs always tell the truth about how layoffs will be run.

You aren't wrong but you can tell the sentiment around the campus.  The ones that know they are performing well aren't too concerned.  The ones who have slacked off hope they aren't part of the bottom 5 percent.

I foresee that when walking through a crowded airport, or wherever, smart glasses can alert you to your college buddy sitting in the bar that you just passed. Or remind you that you might want to eat in the airport before getting on the plane. Then Meta or Google receives a commission from the restaurant. Think the Minority Report world minus the pre-crime aspect.

That would be annoying as fuck.  I think there is a function to disconnect it from Facebook and just allow you to take pictures and listen to your music only

  10. I will say our internal AI tools they let us play with.  The LLM has jumped exponentially.  The AI went from an infant to an adult pretty damn fast.  Even my Meta Ray Bans scare the hell out of me.  A friend of mines mom is going blind but she likes to read.  You can literally snap a picture of a page out of a book and have it read it back to you

Zuck is a pretty serious operator. FB looks superficially like a mess of spam, but things like Marketplace is a big hit. Their advertising revenue per user keeps growing and growing, even during what looks to lay people as the twilight period of their primary product.

He had already announced 2 years ago about starting a "year of efficiency", and did a big cut then, so this current workforce reduction was coming from miles away. Their operating expenses had been on a steady decline. Since then, profitability went up 3x. They're putting tons of money now into infrastructure for AI and VR, so this will go into offsetting that spending.

Yeah.  I'm on the infra side for AI.  It is insane how fast we are moving.

  12. I don't think the job cut thing is a bad thing.  There is a lot of bloat and we have a lot of people who just show up to collect a paycheck.  I hired on with a person.  We were given 6 months to learn how to do our job.  I was sent on my own in 3 months.  This guy 14 months later is still "learning". No one would be mad if he was trying, but he sits there and watches movies all day

Less than $700k after taxes. Again Sheridanverse, so you’re probably right. I’m sure the girlfriend will invest in his company.

Insurance settlements aren't taxable.  He's getting the full million

500 meters may or may not be "sniper distance."  Green fucking Marine recruits, many of whom have never held a weapon, much less fired one; qualify with open sights at 500 meters.  Dude's background was auditing/ accounting; so he didn't necessarily have the military training, but he damned sure had the equipment to easily pull off a 500 meter shot.

Re: targeting Aldean:  According to his girlfriend, Paddock repeatedly cased Las Vegas Village from different windows in their room when they stayed at the Mandalay Bay a month before the shooting.[16] Paddock also may have considered attacking other events. He had researched large-scale venues in cities such as Boston since at least May 2017[15] and had reserved a room overlooking the August 2017 Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, but did not use it.[17] From September 17, Paddock stayed at The Ogden in Downtown Las Vegas, which overlooked the open-air Life is Beautiful festival that ran from September 22 to 24.[16][8] Paddock's internet search terms from mid-September included "swat weapons", "ballistics chart 308", "SWAT Las Vegas", and "do police use explosives"

Sorry but you are wrong.  Marine recruits ain't gonna hit 500 meters with an iron sight.  99 percent of the world isn't hitting 500 meters with a scope.  My .308 is sighted to 500 yards and that is incredibly hard
