There really is Wikipedia information for almost anything:
QuoteSetting[edit]
The Blue Oyster Bar is a fictional gay bar, and the setting of a recurring gag-scene. The bar is a stereotypical depiction of a leathermen's/bear gay bar, featuring patrons dressed up as bikers in leather clothing, and as police officers, sailors, and other stereotypical masculine gay fashion archetypes. The Blue Oyster was originally located on Howell Street in the first movie, but was relocated to 655 Cowan Avenue in the second (Proctor erroneously gives the address number as 621).
Within the film series, unsuspecting characters periodically enter the bar unaware of its nature, usually as the result of a prank by the lead characters. Once inside the victims are trapped and forced to dance with the patrons to the signature tune, "El Bimbo". Among those lured into the bar were:
- Cadets Blanks and Copeland (First film: The first time it is intentional and the second time, it is accidental.)
- Sweetchuck, Mahoney, and Hightower (second movie, due to a riot)
- Proctor (third and fourth films)
- Captain Harris and Proctor (fourth film)

I just realized I mixed up Mahoney with Lassard. I'll go turn in my Diehard Police Academy Fan Club Membership badge now.

Commandant Mahoney?
There are many, many fine actors who can provide many, many fine versions of his character.

Big ol beer bonus from our trip to the Maryland game (as we took the train this morning to Philly to see the Phillies-Cubs game before we head home): Pliny, Blind Pig and even some Hill Farmstead Anna at Monk’s Cafe before the game. Good beer nerd times!

Just went to one of the haughtiest beer bars I’ve ever been to here in Georgetown.
But I got to finally try this so it’s all good. -
Appropriate spot for an Aggie tailgate out here

For any beer needs in D.C. for the game: we went to ChurchKey last night and they have a ridiculously good selection of beers (IPAs in particular were my goal) plus you can do small pours so I pretty much tore through the best of these.

I was there and that play was amazing. You’re right...I had forgotten about the wind being such a factor during games. I do remember on those blazing hot September day games in particular (& following too much early day drinking) walking up to the highest seats just to hang my head over the side and catch some of that breeze.

Ugh. Who has room in their wallet for that?

Most frivolous and inconsequential contribution to the thread: was listening to the Athlon Cover 2 podcast and they made the argument that the PAC 12 is the most aesthetically pleasing conference based on a variety of factors including style of play, cities, stadiums, uniforms and the like. I tend to agree.

Any recs for craft beer/beer nerdy bars in the Georgetown area? When I go out of town I try to only drink good beers I can’t get here in Texas. If helpful for location reference I’m also looking to swing by the Exorcist steps. I see The Tombs nearby but am not very impressed with their selection.
Insufferable beer nerd out -
Worth it IMO

Also I fear Desmond Howard's murderous laugh. I imagine it is what you hear as he is repeatedly stabbing you in a dark alley on Halloween night...

Though I record it, I almost never watch GD these days other than to quickly scan through and see what they have to say about our game or anything else that really jumps out as I scanning through. However, I watch every minute of College Football Final the next morning. I've realized I much prefer the recap and breakdown of games than previews. Plus, my hot sports/assholish opinion - I HATE the special interest stories that litter their show every week now.

My current favorite local brewery is Turning Point in Bedford (yes, Bedford). Great quality brews (IPAs in particular), a lot of them and they’re canning new beers seemingly every week (that you pick up there at the brewery).
Had Oak Cliff’s NE IPA this weekend and it was tasty to quite tasty.

Ghost in the Machine doesn't suck either.

Agreed. Great show. His voice sounded great on the mid to low octave songs in particular. He was obviously getting an assist on the higher end songs form that guy in the back but, especially for a guy that’s now 70, it was all great.

I thought Corby was pretty generous in his analysis, all things considered. He certainly didn’t say anything that’s not been said in about a dozen threads on the football board right now.
