  1. With all the talk about the top 25 Ticket moments and coinciding with this morning’s “big station announcement” (Jub Jam), it got me thinking about what might be the worst 25 Ticket moments.

My nomination would be that very first time that Gordo’s Corner was hijacked so Jub could have Randy Rogers on. While that has happened numerous times since (and with numerous other “red dirt” musicians I’ve never heard of or care to hear of), I nominate that very first time as a top 25 worst Ticket moment.

Also, I wonder how many years ago that was. Probably a lot more than you’d think.

  2. mdl, your wife find any spindletap or parish?

Not what I was looking for. She was downtown for business so I sent her to the flagship Spec’s as it’s nearby and the only place I knew was close by. However, they didn’t have any of the new Spindletap or any other of their limited releases - only Hop Gusher and standards (which I’ve had before). I have been to that Spec’s before and they had a little of the limited stuff but I was overall underwhelmed with their selection. Before her next trip to Houston, I need to scout ahead to find some other store (HEB, Whole Foods, Central Market?) that is off 45 heading north on her way back to Dallas that would have the good stuff.
  3. I once had a Martin House cask beer named Magically Brolicous where they added Lucky Charms. It was not good. As a people, we need to join together and reject any and all beers in which Lucky Charms is utilized.

  4. Overall I'm down with the idea of sessionable beers, but they have to taste really good.  I have my doubts that this one will taste really good.

Agreed. I am very much for session IPAs/pale ales if they bring the flavor. I love Spindletap’s 5% Tint and regularly buy Founders All Day IPA and Oasis’ Metamodern which are around 4.5% or so. I’ve had a session IPA from Claremont out of California that was only 3.5% but tasted outstanding. That’s what I’d really like to see - low ABV session beers that taste like “the real thing”
  5. My wife will briefly be in Houston for work on Friday. Are Parish beers available in stores like Spec’s/Whole Foods/Central Market? I wasn’t clear if y’all are getting tap only right now vs also bottles and cans. Likewise, thoughts on if any of the Spindletap limited releases like
Juiceton and Haze Invaders would be in those stores? Also a big fan of their 5% Tint which I assume is readily available (and fresh)? Just picked up Houston Haze while in Austin a couple weeks back and assume that is also readily available. TIA

  6. Whew! Thanks goodness! Otherwise, we wouldn’t have a record of what those two guys were chatting about (to themselves) from January and early February (the last posts). The world needs that kind of genius archived and available to the masses for future generations to come!
