  1. I think there is enough noise in the records and teams with bad losses that they will build the bracket they want and can point to any specific piece of data to justify it. I’ve seen people make the case that osu should be as high as 5 (which is absurd to reward them for that loss to um), Texas as low as 8 & psu as low as 9 having to play at Tennessee. If they want the conference championships to mean anything, and to not make lane kiffin right, and to not have teams in a good spot try to game the rankings by intentionally losing their last game to avoid the conference championships, Texas can’t be lower than 6 and psu can’t be lower than 7. And that’s if you think ND should be 5. If they really want to show that teams won’t be punished for playing in a conference championship game, Texas has to be 5 and psu has to be 6. Moving Texas or psu below 6 is doing exactly what they said they weren’t going to do by punishing teams for losing their conference championship. I think the only bracket that makes sense by not punishing teams in conference championships and avoiding uga-ut and psu-ore rematches is: 5. Texas - smu 6. psu - clemson 7. nd - iu 8. osu - tenn
  2. That is what you said. You have Tenn at 8 and psu at 9, meaning Tenn would host psu. That’s not happening
  3. I think that’s pretty close. Accurate if bama sneaks in. If SMU makes it in I think they put Clemson a spot ahead of smu after today’s game b
  4. You think Texas drops from 2 to 5, but drops from 3 to 9 having to play a road game at Tennessee? no
  5. I think this is a huge reason why Texas ends up 5 and psu ends up 6.
  6. Against osu psu had first and goal at the end of the half that osu picked off on one of the best picks of the year. And had 1st and goal on their last possession. They lost the game and didn’t look great on offense but definitely had their chance to beat osu and come into this game undefeated #2.
  7. Missed hold, missed illegal man downfield on the td. As a somewhat neutral observer I thought the sec game was pretty egregious.
  8. I thought so too
  9. Tez, the wr is only 5’10 160
  10. James is 210 and Whittington is 200
  11. Needed points there.
  12. Forgot he missed 2 games before the last game of the season. Kind of makes sense to not take unnecessary contact when this game isn’t an elimination game but the next one is.
  13. Tez Johnson seems like he hates contact more than any wr I’ve seen recently. Several times I’ve seen him step ob instead of fighting for more yards. One time he just went down before contact like a qb.
  14. Pretty sure she had the highest score of any of the halftime shows today.
  15. 65 yards of penalties, 4 personal fouls sure makes slowing down that offense harder to do. Psu almost got Mike Tyson’d in that 1st quarter. They were not at all prepared for the speed those punches were coming.
  16. The defense is playing so fucking fast.
  17. It’s mind bottling how anyone that watched Vandy, Kentucky, Kansas, Syracuse all knock off top teams in their conference, watch 6-6 OU hold bama to 3 points, notre dame lose to northern Illinois, Ohio state lose as a 20 point favorite, would rather play an extra elimination game against a top 15 team.
  18. Purdue played in the big ten championship game 2 years ago and went 9-4 the year before that. Miss St has finished in the top 25 four times in the last 10 seasons. They were ranked number 1 for 5 weeks in 2014.
  19. OU gets no credit for anything. In their last 9 games this year they won 3 games. In those 3 wins they beat 5-7 auburn (with a pick 6 in the last 5 mins), they beat 5-7 Maine, and they beat Bama. They lost 6 of 9. And not only did bama lose to them, they lost to Vandy as well. look, I fully expect Deboer to field legit national championship caliber teams at bama in the future. This ain’t one.
  20. They overlooked OU? When a loss would have almost certainly knocked them out of playoff contention. Right. But that’s the mantra of the sec this year. Judge them by their best games, ignore the losses.
  21. lol, the Bama that lost to Vandy and scored 3 points against OU? s-e-c s-e-c s-e-c
  22. Yea I’m not going to die on that hill fighting for Bert and the Illini. Maybe 11-1 was a bit much, maybe not. but it’s not at all absurd to expect that they, and half a dozen other big ten teams would be at the top of the big 12, with a shot at the playoff. the big 12 has a losing record ooc to the big ten, acc, and pac 12. They are 2-2 against the sec with their wins being arky & miss st. Colorado got beat handily by Nebraska.
  23. There is zero chance they have an uga - Tenn rematch in the 1st round.
  24. It’s just a single data point that they beat a big 12 team. All I’m saying is that there are probably 6 teams in the big ten not named Oregon, Penn state, Ohio state, or Indiana that could have competed for the big 12 championship this year.
  25. They went 9-3. They lost to psu, Oregon, and a 1 score game to Minnesota. They beat Kansas who was knocking everyone in the big 12 off. I don’t think it’s a stretch at all that they go 11-1 in the b12. Maybe 11-1 at worst is a stretch. But 12-0 isn’t at all ridiculous, and they’d most likely be the best team in the b12 this year.
