He's a workout wonder who hasn't faced real competition.  They rarely fair well.

Maybe he's the exception, but I think people are too enamored by speed.

Who’s the best corner in the NFL?

He can sit behind Cousins for a year or two. Maybe not a bad long term pick

Problem is with economics being what they are, you don’t want to burn two years of a rookie deal…

McCarthy is the only QB in this class that I don’t think will be utter dogshit

lol so that seals it; MCarthy will die tomorrow…

i have a bet in on over 4.5 going in the first round so there better be at least 5.

You’re pretty much guaranteed 4; Penix/Nix is going to be the decider on that one…

  5. Assuming New England doesn’t grab him, the Cardinals need to stay put at 4 and take MHJ, the safest pick in this draft….

I'm horribly claustrophobic.  I can't sit in the back seat in most cars, even big SUVs.  Usually, if I can't sit in the front, I can't go.  I hate it, absolutely hate it, but that's the miserable reality in which I live.

Isn’t claustrophia worse with less room around you?

If it takes 42 and the 3rd to move into the 20’s to take a falling star, sure do it.

I didn’t love moving back. 6 QBs could go before pick 23. Probably at least 3 if not 4 WRs will be gone. That’s 10 picks on positions the Texans don’t need. That’s a damn good pool of 13 prospects. There should be some really good corners and DL that fall.  They really need the 2025 pick to be in the 30’s to get value back.

We’ll have to agree to disagree on how badly the WR room needed an upgrade….

  8. It would be the same thing as drafting Murphy with our original 1st rounder and trading our original 2nd rounder for Diggs, which I think anyone would be fine with.

You get the bird in the hand of having Diggs (which means we don’t have to draft a WR) already, and if Murphy is there, great; if not, you have two 2nd rounders…

  9. FWIW, according to the value chart our 3rd rounder would be able to upgrade our higher 2nd round pick to #29 (Detroit). Both of our 2nd round picks would get us to #22 (Philadelphia). If somehow Byron Murphy slid to the latter position I would be all over that but (a) I’m biased and (b) he isn’t going to slide to 22…

Exactly. HTown kid coming off of winning at the highest level previously. The Texans needed something to get people excited, but chose Mario fucking Williams instead.

I know he wasn't going to have some Tom Brady esque career playing under Jeff fucking Fisher.

If Vincent had come to the city where he grew up and all his homies lived his career wouldn’t have lasted as long as it did. Vince had/has some personal demons, Jeff Fisher wasn’t 100% responsible for what happened to him…

  11. Regardless of the draft I’d expect us to pick up a 2-down veteran DT between now and camp. Between post-draft cuts and trade possibilities there should be some solid (not spectacular) options out there. Might see some movement with one of the remaining FA safeties if we don’t pick one up Day 2/4th round….

I've seen Mike Sainristil mocked to Houston a few times recently, and it's worth noting that he's an old prospect, and Houston has shied away from drafting older players high the past few years

Here's the ages of the top nickel corner types. Rakestraw and Phillips have both visited

    Ennis Rakestraw Jr- 21.9

    Max Melton- 22.0

    Andru Phillips- 22.4

    Renardo Green- 23.5

    Mike Sainristil- 23.6

Think one thing that works in his favor is that he only started playing DB as a Junior. IIRC he was projected to be a mid Day 3 selection last year, so coming back to up his draft stock to mid/high 2nd round was definitely the right move. I love the way the guy plays, though I’d be happy with Tampa/Rakestraw as well…
