Great. The fat, arrogant and narcissistic coach talking about his soft players getting press and liking to read it.  This coming from the guy who spends as much time working up cute quotes for pressers as he does working on game plans and figuring out how not to blow 2H, 5+ touchdown leads, at home, to garbage teams.

More juice for the Leach cultists to drink in mass quantities. More evidence why this clown will never sniff a big job.

And we as football fans might wonder why 99% of the time we get nothing but boring coachspeak and ultra politically correct cliches  from  the head coaches of power 5 programs.  Oh no, whatever you do, don't voice an actual less than proper, even candid opinion.

Yeah +24 for Tech in Norman seems low due to injury to Tech QB.

How are Tech fans feeling about Wells recruiting for his 2020 and 2021 classes??

Seemingly doing a fair amount of work on the 2021 guys.  Only one 2021 commitment at this point however.  One would think a commitment would be forthcoming at some point from QB Behren Morton. He's a kid who has visited multiple times  with a pretty good offer list and ties to Tech.

Currently have 16 2020 commitments .  One 4 star, one 2 star and the rest 3 stars.  All but one or two have other power 5 offers as I recall.  I'd term the class fairly solid at this point but certainly far from spectacular.  A 2019 season in the dumper won't help.

Who does Tech have left at QB??

Wonder what blOU vs Tech betting line will be??

Rice transfer Jackson Tyner and Jett Duffey left as QBs.  Maverick McIvor out with season ending injury.

    Line today is OU -24.

I agree that he is a take

    1. He's got talent (hands, size, and speed)

    2. To keep him away from okie lite and not give them another Blackmon/Wallace/Bryant/Washington

OSU isn't your primary competition for Fouonji IMO.

I don't know why they're so scared of releasing those documents. The depositions of that case took place in 2010, so that means that the statute of limitations on Hance and Craig James, regarding the false statements they made in those depositions, has long expired so it's not like they're afraid of prosecution. I mean I'll gladly accept a reasoned explanation as to why Tech is refusing to explain themselves, but as I see it with the available evidence, the only explanation for this is that they fear an absolute PR nightmare.

Some interesting elements from James deposition about the actual Adam event--(from Founder of Sports Law Institute and Law Prof at Marquette University)

After the dust from the media storm settled, the truth about the famed electrical closet closet came out. Despite the text messages sent between Adam and Craig and the threatening phone calls and emails, the truth about what really happened that day came out in March 2010 through depositions of various key players. Adam’s deposition deposition is most telling, and portrays quite a different picture of the events– a picture that supports Leach’s claim that he was fired without cause. The pertinent questions and answers of the deposition are as follows:

    Q. You’re sitting in a shed and you text your father, “hey, you’re going to like this, Leach thinks it’s impossible for me to have a concussion. And I’m just being a pussy.”
    Q. You thought it was funny?
    A. Well, we have the same sense of humor and we thought it was funny so I said “you’re going to like this.” At the time, yes, sir.
    Q. Did Leach tell you “I don’t believe you have a concussion?”
    A. No, sir, he didn’t.
    Q. Did the trainer, Mr. Pincock, tell you that Coach Leach didn’t think you have concussion?
    A. I don’t necessarily know. I guess maybe it was an assumption or...
    Q. It was an assumption made by you that Coach Leach didn’t believe you had a concussion?
    A. Yes, sir.
    Q. Let’s go back and look at your text messages to your father. “So for punishment he had me locked in a pitch black shed for the whole practice.”
    Q. Will you agree with me that you were not physically locked by a key or a door lock?
    A. The garage door was not locked.
    Q. Coach Leach didn’t tell you to get inside that electrical closet, did he?
    A. Not personally, no.

    Q. You weren’t locked in an electrical closet for three hours, were you?
    A. No.
    Q. Did Coach Leach tell you that if you were sitting down or leaning on the wall that you would be kicked off the team?
    A. He did not tell me.
    Q. But in fact, you didn’t remain standing the whole time and you weren’t punished?
    A. No, sir.
Craig also changed his tune during his deposition and indicated that he knew the text messages from his son were less than truthful. He also said that he knew this at time he sent the threatening email to Hance.
    Q. When you wrote this email of 12/26 you did not believe Adam had been confined to the electrical closet for a total of three hours, fair?
    A. Yes.
Despite Leach's arguments that he was fired without cause, TTU refused to pay Leach his contract completion bonus or liquidated damages, and Leach filed suit. According to Texas Law, TTU is a state entity and is therefore protected from lawsuits by sovereign immunity and the ability of third parties to collect for breach of contract.

I trust one of the veterans already has told him that's not the way we do things around here.

While it was pretty much unforgivable, he IS a veteran.  One of the other guys tells him that, he threatens to beat their wife.

He's already bitten the bullet and accepted the WR position, he just wanted the opportunity to fight for playing time and Baylor was going to redshirt him... so he's said "Fuck you!"

And now he'll have to redshirt no matter where he transfers to.

The change to WR was a bitter pill for him to swallow.  All I'm suggesting is if he's interested in TT at all, he's going to have to be willing to do it again.  Kind of like Baylor did, I suspect he'll have suitors telling him they'll give him a shot at QB.

Yeah, to transfer because you don't want redshirt kind of defeats the purpose.

I assume Tech will be picking him up soon...

Will be interesting.  He liked Tech and probably visited 8 times or so.  TT would never tell him he was a qb though.

With soph. Alan Bowman,  freshman Maverick McIvor,  2020 commitment Donavan Smith in the fold, as well as a likely 2021 commitment from Behren Morton, it wouldn't appear he's going to be playing qb there.

He's got to be willing to bite the DB or WR bullet if he wants to stay close to home.  I'll be surprised if he does.

He’ll be a solid get for them if he can qualify, but if his grades improve, a better school may poach him.

One never knows for sure, of course, about a commitment's future decisions.  It does seem though he's pretty firm in his commitment.

He's visited Tech maybe 5 times at this point, has developed a very close relationship with the staff and would be only a couple of hours from home.  Been committed a while now only to just now make it public.

Wells really not doing so bad on the recruiting trail thus far.  National ranking certainly not overly impressive,  but at this point they're 4th in conference average * rating.  They currently have 15 commitments.

RHP Levi Well, La Porte Texas, was at one time committed to the UofH, he has backed off of that commitment and now it will come down between A&M and Texas. Wells will visit both schools soon before making a decision.

Wells sits 90-94, topping out at 95  with a power curve ball.

Hmmm, there was this tweet today saying he's headed to Texas Tech.

  13. Corprew has has played his last game at Tech in all probability.  Incident happened at a club.  Apparently there is video from what I understand.

Beard quoted earlier this year as saying he felt like Corprew would make all conference this year.  From a purely basketball standpoint, would be a very big loss.
