He visited Tech this week end and lot of those folk thought they'd see a commitment upon his departure.  They saw a commitment alright, to another school.  Maybe just so much wishful thinking on their part, but there seems to be considerable sentiment this one is not over yet.

Tech got a commitment today from a seemingly pretty much run of the mill 3 star OL, Larry Moore, from Fort Bend Marshall.  Likely to see a couple more commits  this week.

Tech is finally showing signs of life on the trail, picking up two east Texas WRs and Tahj Brooks.

TT had a pretty good day today.  Four commitments.  In addition to the three above, they also got Quin Bright, an athlete out of Cedar Hill.  All 4 had pretty nice offer lists.

Tech is hosting a good sized visit week end currently.  Expect two more commitments tomorrow.

This thing feels like it is Vanderbilt's to lose...

I don't see any entity from the Michigan/Texas Tech/FSU bracket that can win 2 out of 3.

Not saying it's going to happen again, but TT swept 3 straight from Michigan earlier this season.  Of course, Michigan is playing better now, but you've also got to think their run of getting an awful lot of breaks has to end at some point.

Is Gabe Holt out for the entirety of the tournament?  I haven't seen any news about the injury.

Holt in the starting line up for TT tonight.

He, for whatever that's worth, maintains he can play.  He has some type of apparatus rigged up that will allow him to get his injured and stiffly bandaged thumb in his glove.  I'm still skeptical though.  Maybe as a pinch runner or someone to try and steal a base or get a sac bunt down perhaps.

But It's hard to imagine him being effective as a traditional player for me anyway.

  6. Not that I think there's a chance in hell of it happening, nor do I even want it to, but think it's damn funny that it appears a number of their SEC brethren are of the opinion that A&M has worn out their welcome and are ready to add someone like TT.

Five page thread on "SEC Rant" pertaining to adding TT and running off mostly A&M. Good entertainment. https://www.secrant.com/rant/sec-football/should-we-invite-texas-tech-into-the-sec/83896353/

    Gonna be a good matchup...

Have there been any more adjustments to the newer stadium in Omaha??  Just remember lack of HRs in Omaha has given the teams with stronger pitching a much better chance of winning Championships...

Good thing they changed the baseball to help with HRs...

Most home runs hit in CWS since the event moved to TD Ameritrade Park

AP    Updated  CDT June 22, 2017

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Louisville's Logan Taylor hit the College World Series' 16th home run, the most since the event moved to TD Ameritrade Park in 2011.  Taylor's homer against TCU on Thursday night came in the 10th game of the CWS. The previous high at the stadium was 15 homers in 16 games in 2015. Last year, there were 10 in 17 games.

College baseball coaches and fans bemoaned the scarcity of homers at the expansive stadium after a total of six were hit in 30 combined CWS games in 2013 and '14.  The numbers throughout college baseball increased in 2015 when the NCAA put a flat-seam ball into play to counter severe drops in offense since bat specifications changed in 2011. The new ball replaced the more wind-resistant raised-seam ball.

I'm not aware of any Omaha adjustments.  Others might know better though.

Ole Miss leading Ark very early 1-0.  If they should win, TT's side of the bracket would be Michigan, FSU and Ole Miss.  Difficult of course,  but manageable as CWS brackets go.

Which has fuck all to do with x,x,x,4.

On the bright side, it turns out that no one in America has died of old age since 1951 - according to oaffishul government records... therefore, if he can get over it, there's no reason, other than disease, that he shouldn't live forever.

How irrational of me.  You posted a pic of Knight in which he wasn't looking too good and I made a very benign comment that he was currently experiencing some health issues.  It is not uncommon when that happens to people of some notoriety, for it to be considered newsworthy to some.

And you then honor us with the high IQ flavored rant posted above.  Go shit in your purse.

Spring game didn't go how he'd hoped?

Always thought he'd do more...maybe so did he?

Didn't even go through spring practice.  Been suspended a good while now along with Fulcher and Joseph Wallace.

i dont know i just dont have a great feeling about Tech. maybe i didn't watch enough this year and im totally wrong.

Tech really has a lot of talent IMO.    However, they are severely lacking something of an intangible that keeps them from being a really quality team.  I'll be surprised if they even make it out of this regional.

If he picks LSU, it just means he needs the money NOW, as opposed to after he gets drafted.

Tyreek Smith says today he's canceling his LSU visit that was scheduled to take place this week end   Got to be good news for TT.

Agreed. His best shot is probably Kansas. He can play at Memphis and be the best player in the NIT or Kansas where he'll be the starter day 1 on a guaranteed tournament team. Beard would obviously take him but I don't think Tech really needs an RJ Hampton right now.

4 star PF out of Dallas, Tyreek Smith,  who visited TT last week end, now says he'll take one more visit this week end, that being to LSU and then will announce soon.

The  bad news for TT fans is he's originally from La.  I suppose the good news might be all the recent goings on around the LSU program.

I’ve got no read on him. 247 seems to think he’s KU bound. We can offer him the most and need him the most so there’s that. Evan Daniels picked him to KU and he’s like 97% accurate over the last year. Apparently Memphis has a lot of guards knocking on their door, including the recent duke decommit. KU needs him badly and apparently his reclassification was suggested by KU with self meeting with him the day after that announcement. I think he announces at the end of the month.

If you believe this piece anyway, supposedly tonight's Boogie Ellis commitment to Memphis narrows the field to three for Hampton.  I personally now think it'll be Kansas.
