  1. I'm probably in the minority here but I think waaaaaaaaaay too much is being made about Boone's comments in the post-game on the Judge fly ball out to RF. I mean, he was asked a question specifically about what he thought when Judge hit it and he answered honestly that he thought it had a chance to go yard but the roof open probably held it up a bit and even went as far as to say it wasn't crushed etc. Really everyone is getting hung up on the words "us" vs "it". I don't think he was taking anything away from the Astros and talked about Framber settling in as the game went along and said how hard that staff is to hit. This was just an honest answer about what he was thinking at the time that ball was hit. He gets a pass from me on that one. Severino, however....that "luck" talk is for giant pussy losers and there was nothing lucky at all about Bregman's hr that clanked off the damn wall behind the Crawford Boxes.
  2. This is great trolling, I don't buy it for a second.
  3. pretty fucking typical of the cheating fraud Yankees that the tweet hasn't been deleted when it is provably false yet getting tons of likes and retweets
  4. This is a nothing-burger, I think it's Dusty not wanting the media to think LMJ is our #4 starter or some such shit. I think it's the Astros braintrust looking at the matchups and knowing that Javier is the guy to give the ball to in a game NY MUST WIN, then turning to the veteran executioner LMJ to complete the sweep in NY.
  5. I had a feeling it would be Javier vs Cole gm 3
  6. What the everlivin' fuck is going on with Stanek? Is he secretly sick/hurt or did the Astros analytics guys tell Dusty only to use him in situations with a five-run lead vs NYY? It doesn't make sense that one of our best relievers hasn't pitched but one inning this postseason.
  7. Who do you guys want to start gm 3 vs Cole? LMJ or Javier?
  8. yeah and you assholes on this board. I typically watch on my desktop pc and it takes a lot more discipline than I have to watch games a minute-plus behind the Surly Astros thread. I can't quit y'all.
  9. agreed but the problem with this is being so fucking far behind. the pbp radio feed on the MLB app is way off this year.
  10. And that was with LeMahieu in their lineup.
  11. I'll say it again because this isn't getting talked about in the national media and it shows just how dominant the Astros have been over the Yankees this season: in 9 games the Astros are 7-2 and have not trailed the Yankees for 78 innings. The Bader HR was the first time in every one of those games where the Astros came to bat trailing NYY and it lasted a half-inning. But for a pair of walk-off two-out HRs (one by Hicks, the other by Judge off Pressly) back in late June, the Astros could easily be 9-0 vs the Yankees this season. Dominance.
  12. Javier without question. He baffles the Yankee lineup and a win vs Cole will leave them really pressing against Lance gm 4 when we get the sweep.
  13. Dusty says they still haven't decided on a gm 3 starter yet.
  14. Javier has absolutely owned the Yankees lineup to the tune of 3H 1R 21 K 6 BB in 15 IP. NYY lineup has slashed .062/.182/.125 against him.
  15. We have a pitching advantage, period. Are you suggesting the Yankees have an advantage just because of Gerrit Cole?
  16. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/HOU/HOU202206300.shtml And the Astros are gonna throw Javier at the Yankees again vs Cole.... https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/NYA/NYA202206250.shtml
  17. Fun fact from last night: when Bader hit that home run in the 2nd inning to put the Yankees up 1-0, that was the first time in the 8 games played so far this year that the Astros have trailed the Yankees coming up to bat. If not for two walk-off Yankee wins in New York, the Astros would be a perfect 8-0 instead of 6-2 this year against Goliath.
  18. The Astros are seven more 2022 postseason wins away from being talked about as one of the greatest baseball dynasties of all-time. From my perspective they already are considering 1) six straight ALCS appearances, 2) three World Series appearances in five years, 3) a World Series title, 3) four 100-win seasons over six years and 4) they advanced past the divisional round every year since their World Series title. Dynasty. They just need to put a bow on it in the form of a 2022 WS title.
