Touché. That rule always gets me

yeah same here. it's silly how MLB loves to keep those roster rules arcane and unknowable to any fan interested enough to read their own goddamn website for clarification only to find out from beat reporters that everything you thought you knew was wrong.

I’m not sorry to see the end of Staneks astros career. If we could be blessed to have the same happen to Maldy tomorrow night this season might get where it needs to be.

    be better than this.

Mariners up 2 games on Houston now.

    ?????

only if your "2 games up"  is in the event of a tie at the end of the regular season, otherwise we are a game back and Arlington is two back.

Love Biggio and Bagwell, but they can't hold Altuves jock when it comes to the games that matter. Both them had raisin balls. Altuve has king kong nuts that he will drag across anyones face.

I'm 53, I've lived through and loved my Astros across many different eras, this is inarguable and any Astros fan who says otherwise is just being contrarian for the sake of being contrarian.

So all players were picked before it got to the Astros turn? Or the Astros didn’t want anyone? I didn’t know when it’s your turn you get to pick as many as you want and not you get 1 selection if you want someone?

Yes they were all picked by teams with waiver priority over the Astros (and probably every other contending playoff team with pitching/OF needs) EXCEPT for Randall Grichuk. That one surprised me because I thought he'd be claimed.

Arlington could have absolutely used those pitchers. I guess Cleveland came first in the waiver order; not sure how all that works

Works in reverse order of the standings as of this morning. Arlington actually had dibs before us thanks to Aroldis Chapman doing Chapman things.

What's hilarious is Maldonado is one of the worst framing catchers in baseball if not the worst. There is literally nothing he does at a below average level on the baseball field anymore. It's all abysmal or worse.

i knew that part would get y'alls attention, especially @Wulaw Horn

The Rangers in July were the 5-1 aggy that were always gonna finish 7-5.

    Least surprising collapse in history.

    shhhhhh

    do not tempt the bbgs.

there's a lot of baseball left to be played.
