  1. Copeland is a tier above Journey and Phil Collins.
    Great comment though.

Wait - what? Are you saying Copeland is better than Steve?

I love Copeland. I love the way he plays and loves his series on the history of drums. His style’s unique.

    He is not Steve smith.
  2. I love Journey but the drumming has never  jumped off the track for me.
That said I wouldn't disagree if someone told me that anyone from that band was among the best at what they did.

8:00 and on its a fucking masterclass. The snare work on some of those fills is phenomenal.

The drumming on don’t stop believing is also incredibly good.

  3. I've heard other drummers say that, and it puzzles me.

For all the chart-smashing Journey songs, there seem to be no great grooves or memorable fills.

Seems like he had a hundred opportunities to do something innovative.

But then, I'm not a drummer.

    Crazy disagree.
  4. I know we're supposed to think these guys are super jaggy, but we're also losing a lot of depth/development pieces in the secondary.
Right now our in-house options are Jonah Williams to replace Taafe and true frosh Zelus Hicks.
2nd string nickel is a walk-on who's major contribution is making the honor roll twice.  In the Big 12.
Obviously this exaggerates things because we can move guys around (Gerry and Bobby think Kobe Black goes to safety, for example), but I think it's going to be hard to recruit back-ups into programs, which basically means you're churning through portal dudes every season and selling them on playing in a rotation (and then they portal back out when it's clear they don't have the athleticism/experience to start).

Kinda makes me think about college baseball - you can recruit all top dudes because they go pro and you’re left with nothing. It’s the teams that get the best of the 2nd and 3rd tier guys that end up being really good.

  5. All moved in with my mom and her husband. As a very independent 43 yr old who prefers to be alone with my dog, it's actually quite a relief. I had been struggling to feed myself properly and my house was a disregarded mess. I have had an amazing team of friends and family cleaning the old place out for me and it's wild how much crap I've thrown away. I'm well below the American consumerist bellcurve and it's still just so much junk (humorously probably a third of it is gifts I've stuck in closet and never wanted or used but couldn't trash because of some idea of respect). Anyway, it was the right time for this change and I feel much more comfortable.

Godspeed fellow Horn fan from the internets.

  6. I don’t think you need a trust - they’re expensive and I don’t think you need that.

FYI -we just went through this.

POA for mom now would be nice. When dad dies, put her on a home, sell the house, put money in her acct to pay the bills, split it when she dies.

If nothing is contested should be easy.

  7. The Mavericks, in my opinion, gave the world some of the funnest, catchiest tunes to ever grace a PA. Mad respect to those guys.

RIP - what a fucking voice.

  8. Ditto. Need some simple work done on my son’s old 12 ga in Austin.

Call AJ at Blackjack in cedar park.

Or Troy at a red Wolf in Burnet
Gunsmith Recommendation?  I need to have a gunsmith do a little work on my Sig/Hammerli Trailside .22 LR pistol.
I live in The Woodlands, but anyone in the greater Houston area would work.  A gunsmith in the Austin Metroplex would be fine also.
    Thanks.

    What needs to be done?

Might try the guys at Athena in Houston.

  9. On the same play, I believe. I mean, Sark has a 4-page, double sided, small font list of plays, but runs the same one twice in a half.

So we need wi go to have 200 catches for him to have a 100 yard game. That’s the pace for our #1 receiver*.

    *term is used loosely.
  10. Well my Hellcat was stolen out of my truck Sunday night.
They hit our neighborhood and the one next to us.
Have a few videos and sheriff knows who they are.
Soooo I’m in the market for another EDC.
Looking at the Kimber .380 or Micro 9.

    Eh, you could do better.
