1 He's talking about the post Covid year team. I write that to prove context doesn't help when the reasoning isn't reasoning at all.

What I am getting out of all these brilliant Texags quotes is this common theme:

“All those players weren’t SEC ready when they went there, they were never developed, and that’s why they’re all doing so well at the combine”.

  2. I may have them reversed because I'm old and have technically moved to Austin twice (undergrad transfer and then after grad school in California), but the Bobby Bland show was at the old Antone's on the north end of the Drag.  And W.C. jumped up there with him for a song or two.  Would have been '96 or '97.  And saw W.C. do a short weeknight set at Continental Club I guess right before that.  And then I moved back to Austin years later and used to see Clark play a lot in South Austin where I lived at the time.  Always loved his shows.  After a show, as this old website incarnation coincidence would have it, after a show we walked down the street to a bar to get some cheap drinks after a show.  Back when South Congress only had a few joints.  And who was there?  But W.C. Clark?  And for those of you who remember, that bar's name?  You guessed it, Shaggy's.  RIP, W.C.

Ah - yeah great chance my dad was on drums that night - I’d put money on it. He did a lot of dates with Bobby, and a shitload with WC.

  3. Yep.
So here is a question. I picked up a ruger 10/22 picatinny rail, and only two of the holes lined up with the four holes on the receiver. Is that expected and ok? It came with a rail (didn't realize that until after I had already installed the one I bought and dug around the bag). Figure I should be ok to loctite two in and just plug the two inner screw holes back up?

It’s probably fine but I’d eventually put the oem rail on.

  4. Well it sucks ass, but he was 84 and had a wonderful run.  First show I ever saw after moving to Austin was W.C. Clark.  Few months later, saw him with Bobby blue Bland at Antone's.  Can''t even remember how many times I saw him.
This city's "Live Music Capital of the World", whether you agree with the motto or not is simply nothing without the trailblazing blues of W.C. Clark.  All else is commentary.  Rest Easy, sir...

    What year?
  5. Popped into a shop in spicewood and they had a 10/22 takedown lite. Taking the boys out tomorrow to punch some holes. Looks like a fun little gun. Waiting on a dead air mask to clear ATF jail.

    Provident?
  6. Bought a box of Remington FMJ 300 BLK at Academy the other day for $30.  $1.50 per round is whack.  Ordered 500 rounds of Wolf 300 BLK from TargetSportsUSA.com for $378.61 shipped.  That's a little better.

    I hate wolf.

Look at PSA AAC stuff - it’s not bad at all and you can get vmax loads for about that price.

Vmax is a great sd round in 300BO. It was designed as a varmint round for 308 but at the slower 300BO speeds it doesn’t fragment near as quickly.

    It’s my go to.
  7. When we moved back to Austin in 1990 the phone started ringing off the hook. WC was one of those callers. Clifford. TD Bell. All kinds of people.

Mom hated it lol. But she’d always pass the call from WC. He was a good guy.

    RIP WC.

  8.
I think they will sell every one they will build.  And companies that have fleets of F-150's, that never leave a metro area, will buy them up as well.  I'd have one in a minute.
It is, functionally, a F-150.  It's a known quantity, just with electric power. Yes, there are going to be towing limitations, but Ford will happily sell you a gas or diesel truck if that's a concern.
Compare it to Tesla's "truck" or a Rivian.   Sure, they are edgy and unique, but a squad of plumbers aren't going to be using one to get to their job.
I suspect the Chevy truck will sell well too.

Ford cant sell them. They’re sitting on lots around the country.
  9. Burnt Ends will keep doing their photo shoots though, right?! We need more quality shots like this one. But I have to say this photo makes me question Burnt Ends leadership. I’m not sure paying Herman an appearance fee of three lines of coke was a great use of our donations.

Post the handles of all those goofy motherfuckers. I can spot imma a mile away so that one is covered.
  10. I can’t tell you why but in the long run the Hotel California lyrics are already gone.  The prosecutors should take it easy, but instead they will take it to the limit.  There might be a civil action here, but a criminal case should be the last resort.

    Fucking well done.
  11. We moved to Florida for work in May of last year.  We were boat club members on Lake Travis for 5-6 years. Now being here we have the itch. We are probably going to buy because of how our schedules work and the quality of boats we have seen in the area we are looking.
How many of y’all have experience on the west coast of Florida? We are looking to cruise the intercoastal, the bays and sandbars around Sarasota, Siesta Key, Lido Key and Longboat Key.

Any recommendations on what y’all would buy? It’s just the two of us and 2 big ass dogs. Not really looking to sail at this point. We do fine but can’t afford a $200k boat.

Ive always wanted to cruise the keys in a 30-35 foot cuddy. There is a large contingent of people that go out for 3-4 days at a time and anchor on islands/sandbars and spend the night.

If it’s just y’all 2 and some dogs - a 33 foot Hydra sport with twin 300’s would work great.

  12. Maybe.  I'm an amateur on skis, I can handle a smooth but steep black diamond at the most, but I have never hurt myself.  Not that I've spent a ton of time on the slopes, but I went on plenty of ski trips in my 20s-30s.
Snowboarding seems to be a different animal.  The line between "upright" and "face down" is very precise.

If he has any left when he gets back put them on sale here lol

  13. Dang. those gadgets go up in price exponentially!
As you know, I’m a cheap mofo.
So would the upgrade really be worth it for just an occasional foray out to family land to clear the varmints? Am speaking for my son who has a Colt LE6920 to mount it on.

Both good options for what you want to do.

  14. That’s a fair price for that scope.

    However, that’s a 256 resolution… that’s pretty low for a thermal scope.

The industry recommended minimum is 320, with 640 being the recommended floor.

But I am a NV scope hog hunter with a 120 thermal scanner

    You want the 25-384.

    You want the 25-384.

    Sorry meant armybrat.

  15. Quick question. What would a fair price be for a "like new" Remington 710 .300 WinMag? I have one that's only had 3 rounds fired to sight it in. I know a guy that wants to guy a bolt action. I know what I have in it, what does Surly say it's worth?
