  1. Zelenskyy was good on 60 Minutes tonight. Obviously tired/drained but focused and thoughtful. He said we shouldn’t fear Russia’s nukes. Also would like more weapons more quickly; said he gave Biden a list. He was not remorseful about telling NATO they are being weak (stop fearing Russia) or about telling the UN Security Council it shouldn’t exist if they can’t do something about this situation. Both maybe correct, but pretty strong statements. He justified it by saying he doesn’t have any more lives/emotions/time to put into diplomacy that is more bureaucracy than results. When asked how they’ve been so successful against the Russians, he said the people, the armed forces, everyone came together as “one fist”. Pretty good line. Also, more dead bodies shown in prime time than maybe ever on US network TV. Had some other good interviews and good camerawork on the ground. Worth the time to watch.
  2. @deadshank you weren’t kidding about it being dry there. Glad you got the water stations set up
  3. From one of MillerEP’s links. This is great, maybe the best orc water crossing Fail yet, and they published the video themselves:
  4. Learned from dad how to operate in the safety factor of every tool/machine available.
  5. That’s really nice! I wanted to build a trailer to hold two 330gal totes, but haven’t had time for it yet.
  6. Hold my beer good sir: Caveat: I don’t fill it all the way; but the rated load capacity on these mules is 1100lbs I think. I go slow and work flat ground. I think I put over 200gallons it it once and it was ok. I was watering trees:
  7. I thank God we have two ponds/tanks on our place which never run dry. Our high fence neighbor is trying to install a water system now to some of his feeder locations as he can’t keep up with the water hauling during a prolonged dry spell like we’re having now. Are you going to haul the transport tote in a truck or UTV? Are you going to use a transfer pump or gravity?
  8. Great thread from Hertling, makes me feel better about Ukraine’s chances in the next phase
  9. A trainload of self propelled artillery was on the rails today in Temple.
  10. Orc drivers botch another water crossing. This has got to be approaching double digit instances of this stuff.
  11. This was bad ass, also very lucky that the chopper loitered too long
  12. You thinking cellular or non-cellular (I.e. do you want the photos sent to you or do you mind going out and pulling memory cards?)
  13. Not that it’s addressing this issue directly, but I saw another trainload of Bradley’s and other armor/tracked vehicles headed east out of Hood today. Wondering if we’re sending more stuff to NATO allies so they can send all their Soviet stuff to Ukraine.
  14. There is some of that, but there is also a very compelling strategic argument to letting Putin keep digging the hole he’s in deeper and deeper. If NATO, et al play everything right, maybe Putin goes away and Russian politics gets a much needed reset. Maybe then we don’t have more Grozny’s, Aleppo’s, and Ukraine’s. The only way this shit ends long term is with a political reset over there, with freedom of the press as order #1. It sucks for the Ukrainians but they should have got their shit in order and aligned with the EU and NATO earlier. This is the biggest cautionary tale in awhile highlighting the fact that you’re either in NATO, or you may be fair game for the Putin’s of the future.
  15. This is the second Ukrainian dude with what to hunters stateside we might call a “get r dun” Turkey hunting setup (the foam pad fastened to his gear covering his butt). Very handy when sitting for long periods awaiting your quarry, especially on cold ground. The Ukrainians are all in; from the high speed guys down to the “good ole boys” and I fucking dig it.
  16. Maybe I’m underestimating the Rooskies here, but I’m skeptical of anything mentioning “changing direction” and double-digit Mach speeds. The SR-71 had a turning radius of ~100 miles at Mach 3+ I believe.
  17. I ran across this on March 22; at least two posts that day of dudes with Mosin’s, with vintage optics. Russian gear is all over the place; supposedly cutting edge gear/hypersonic missles over here, and then Scooby Do vans and Mosins over there.
  18. My youngest helped me prep the fan and beard for mounting yesterday, that was good, maybe she’ll want to hang it in her room when it’s done. I like this mounting kit in case anyone is looking for one: Taxidermists Woodshop The Black Walnut Turkey Mounting Kit -01 http:// https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007P2SJU4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_J7N57X0YB82EB6NESQDE?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
  19. Had a little time this morning to hunt and got a decent Jake. The kids didn’t want to hunt but helped with the recovery. My Turkey season usually lasts exactly one day, so looking forward to next season from here on out. Put in my Colorado application last week, hopefully get drawn again.
  20. Yeah it’s sounds like the Guerrilla Safari got kicked off today.
  21. http:// https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/sanctioned-or-not-russians-abroad-find-their-money-is-toxic-2022-03-30/ "I am dealing with Russians who can't get out of hotels, students who have no money because credit cards are valueless," said Bob Amsterdam, a founding partner of Washington- and London-based law firm Amsterdam & Partners. "Banks ... are refusing Russians bank accounts: they are closing their doors to Russians on nationality," said Amsterdam, who is based in London. "Leading law firms in the City have closed their doors to Russians in terms of nationality." "Currently, everything that is Russian is toxic, which means that everyone is trying to be extremely, extremely careful in terms of what to do with Russian clients," said the lawyer, a dual Russian and British citizen, who runs a law firm in Zurich.
  22. I was hoping for artillery splashes, but the “eastern” Benny Hill music works.
